Property Ratings at Westover Hills
I've been here for 8 years. The Barcelona, now Westover Hills, has come a long way. From a terrible place to rent, to a very nice place you can call home. The new owners/management are putting hundreds of thousands of dollars into this place to bring it up to code and update and renew all these apartments! Hardwood floors on the 1st floor, all new appliances, paint, fixtures and plumbing, to plush carpeting with the same updates on the second floors. The workers are doing a great job making this probably one of the nicest places to live, at a fair rent price, in Big Spring. The new maintenance guy, Josh, is right there to fix any problem that arises. He's doing a great job! Thanks Josh! The new management in the Office, Jamie, is a lovely and caring woman. Easy to talk to and kind and considerate! Great job Jamie! Gone are the days of nasty girls that plagued that office, who would gaslight you that things would be fixed and never were. Its truly come a long way and FINALLY, I am starting to feel safe, happy and proud to be here. Its so peaceful as well. Hi there! Thank you so much for your review! We are so thrilled to know you are loving our community and appreciate the feedback!
Our unit flooded 6 times in one year. At one point we did not have access to the only bathroom in our unit for 2 weeks. We didn't want to break the lease and be penalized so we asked for a new unit. The request was denied. Instead we were told we could pay for the plumbers out of pocket so plumbers would actually come. A few days later there was an inch of standing water in the entire unit. Corporate never returned phone calls. After retaining a lawyer we got a new unit. The new unit is on the first floor. When it rains water leaks through the ceiling fan. We have been told after each leak that roofers are coming. Roofers never come. Maintenance has not inspected to make sure there is no electrical damage. This has been going on for 4 months now. Seems like no one at the office cares, or they say corporate won't approve major repairs. Not worth the money they charge. They have rented the unit that flooded so badly and did not let the tenants know about the flooding.
