Property Ratings at Westport Edge Apartments
In the months I have lived here it hasn't been most pleasant at all. The move in was delayed, things still needed to be fixed and the laundry room was disgusting with dryers that did not work. Even now they are working in the basement of the property and the fumes are coming up through the vent. No warning that this would even take place today. I really can't wait to move out. This is the apartment you move into when you have nowhere else to go. Would not recommend.
The units are decent visually. However, the walls are super thin so you can hear everyone/everything that goes on in the entire building. The ventilation is extremely poor. We can smell the downstairs neighbors cigarette and marijuana smoke in our unit as if we were the ones smoking. They also have a cat and we had to get 2 air purifiers to eliminate the cat hair/dander due to my allergies to cats. The laundry facilities in our unit are extremely old and appear to be in extremely poor condition, but there are several affordable/clean laundry mats close by. If you have limited credit or credit challenges this is a decent temporary option, but if isn’t your situation you can find other options nearby that are much nicer.
Lived here for 1 year. A speedy clean and repair job to get me in. Fist holes in cabinetry, I was told by the property manager would be replaced. A full page of minor issues on the initial inspection. Repeated and regular plumbing issues. Maintenance requests were deleted before they were addressed. Trash was everywhere in the parking lot and inside the building. There was regularly standing water in the hallways. Holes punched into the common space walls and a used condom took over a month to get taken care of. Maintenance left me to clean up the messes they left behind. Upon leaving, I was not notified of my move out inspection, I was not given the inspection checklist or a check for almost 60 days. They keep very poor records. Poorly organized. A property manager is seldom on site. Not an experience I ever want to repeat.
I've been living with them for 2 years now and I can't praise them enough. The halls are cleaned regularly. When there is a maintenance issue they come right away and it's fixed correctly. The work with you as long a you COMMUNICATE which is the big key. I recommend this to apartment complex to anyone. My building is quiet and I love it!
Haven't had any real big issues with my apartment. I have had my car keyed twice in the parking lot. Lily was amazing when helping me sign all the paper work. This apartment is way better than the one o moved out of. The walls aren't paper thin. So you don't hear everything the person next door does but you do still hear some noise. Of course. Love that the apartment has hard wood all throughout. If you live on the ground floor and someone has a doggie above you because of the hardwood you will hear that door run around and play. I've lived in this apartment since July of 2019. Nothing to really complain. Other than my water not getting as hot as it should of staying hot for very long (only on the shower though). Very quite unless kids are out at the pool or just hanging outside and enjoying the nice weather in the summer. If I wasn't moving out of state when my lease is up I would have signed on for another year. Rent is affordable. I live in a one bedroom. Perfect for one person not to big not to small
This property is excellent because of the property manager Lily. She has addressed every single issue we have ever encountered along with just having a great attitude and general knowledge of the property itself and all that needs to be done in order to have issues fixed. This is my first apartment and with everything that’s gone down inside the complex and out, she’s always there for her tenants. We love her! I highly suggest contacting Lily if you ever need anything regarding Westport Edge!
I've lived here almost a year and had problems from the very first month I moved in. My building is constantly flooding and it has happened 3 times in the 7 months I've been there. They don't do anything to fix the problem but snake the pipes, "clean" up the mess (I would hardly call it cleaning), and let it go. The pipes need to be replaced but instead of that, they put new flooring in the buildings and increased rent by $60...On top of this, someone has tried to break into my apartment by trying to pry the lock with a knife and it damaged the space between my door and the wall. There's no cameras anywhere at all and management here changes every three months. The rent is cheap though and this was my first apartment. Had my lease for a year and that's more than enough time for me to spend living in these conditions.
Property Manager at Westport Edge Apartments, Responded To This Review
We're sorry that in your time here it hasn't been what you expected, we always want to strive to handle maintenance calls in a timely and efficient manner. We would be more than happy to have you call us so that we can resolve any of your issues. We look forward to speaking with you.
Sometimes when people write reviews it isn't as helpful as if you were to experience things for yourself. I've been living at Westport Edge apartments for almost 2 years. I would start by saying that I am glad that I chose Westport Edge. Prior management wasn't the best; however, new management is way better. Under old management I had problems with lights in my apartment and my bathroom ceiling would leak water. Immidiately when Stacey came along not only was my problem fixed but she upgraded my apartment with new lights and fixtures while gutting my ceiling and replacing it with new pipes to stop the leaking. No more temporary fixes! I have to be honest I was really bad with losing my house key. I would tell Stacey and she would immidiately provide me with a copy with no complaints or quiestions. Stacey, Jimmy, and Carlos all work together as a team to keep the apartment complex maintained as well as keeping the tenants happy to the best of there ability. There is so much more that Westport Edge has to offer. The Airport is less than 10 minutes away. There are so many new and upcoming stores and places to eat at in the local area. If you have kids Pattonville School District is a perfect school to raise your kids in. I attended middle through highschool. The only way that you can find out is to stop by and see for yourself. Thank You Westport Edge!
great manager. thanks Westport for stacy. she rocks and considerate and also go above and beyond for tenants. renewed my lease because of ms. stacy. thanks again Westport.
I really am enjoying all of the improvements at Westport Edge. Stacey and her team are wonderful. Highly recommend!
I stayed in these apartments for about 3 years and I really enjoyed it. Nice area and very nice apartments. I’m moved to Phoenix and if I were to come back to stlouis to stay I would stay here again.
I have been here over a year and I had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS HERE, no one was fixing my apartment on time and doing what they were suppose too. After 3 failed managers, we finally have a superwoman who has come to save us all. She came right in and started handling business, she is always a phone call away and very prompted on making sure things get fixed. Very professional and concerned about the residents well being! I am finally feeling safe in my apartment and has someone who really cares about making sure things are safe for the children and our families in the complex.
The pictures can be the deceiving, upon entering the apartments the halls reck, and smell of mildew. Stacey is also a very nonchalant and rude leasing manager. I had fleas in my apartment from the time I moved in and the issue was never resolved. Not worth the money they are trying to charge you. My first apartment and it has been a horrible experience. I'm literally counting down the days until my lease is up in Feb.
If you're looking for a low monthly rent, this is your place. Fair location, quiet. BUT, expect to see complex complex run in dismay! People parking in tow away and handicapped zones, with no penalties. Hidden charges. Trash thrown on the ground. Disgruntled tenants, complete lack of manners.
We lived here for two years and while initially, maintenance was sloooww, once the current company took over that got way better. My only complaint is that the laundry room did get messy, but that is more the fault of the people using it and not the workers as people just wouldn't pick up after themselves. The pool was shut down for a while, but they fixed it up and reopened it. We moved a week after it opened so I never got to use it, but it looked great. If you are looking for a nice, cheap, quiet place to live, this is it.
The rent is cheap, even for Saint Louis--one bedroom apartment goesfor $550 per month. Easy access to major highways, and the neighborhood is safe. However, getting even the most routine of maintenance done by the landlord company can take months. They are completely disinterested I the tenants problems. They also do a lousy job of routinely maintaining the lobby/parking lot/pool/laundry room.
