Property Ratings at Westshore Colony
Great property on the river can fish, kayak,paddleboard, tube. Park like atmosphere lots of space to walk around and do activities. The staff are super friendly and take good care of the tenants. The apartments are spacious cozy, and welcoming. All new great appliances in the kitchen. Our neighbors are good, kind, respectful people. Seriously consider checking this place out. We were sold on it without even looking at any other apartment complexes.
Westshore Colony is such a fun place to live! There is awesome river access, pool, sand volleyball court and much more!
We moved in the Summer of 2022 and the views from the balcony are absolutely amazing. The management team was very friendly, answered all our questions and gave us a great tour of the complex. The maintenance team has always responded quickly and fixed things within a day of submitting the maintenance request and, keeps the complex clean, and the grass is always clean cut. Also, all the remodeling and painting has made the complex even better. We definitely recommend giving this apartment a chance if you’re looking!!
We absolutely LOVE loving here. After being homeowners for 20+ years, we were unsure how we would adapt to "apartment living". It's honestly been FANTASTIC. It's like living at a riverfront resort. We feel very safe here. The pool is kept sparkling clean! This is a very dog~friendly community with a large dog park. The residents that I have met have all been very friendly and welcoming; it's like a nice little tight knit community, with everyone looking out for each other. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the amenities are great, including kayak storage and a paved walking trail for morning and evening strolls. (If you look up in the trees, you'll likely see an owl or two that call this place home as well ~ they're very cool to see!) **Minor suggestions for improvement would be a dog wash station, a water spicket in the dog park for filling water bowls or small kiddie pools for dogs to play, and it would be awesome if there were kayaks and paddle boards available to rent thru the office. There is great potential for a sand "beach" down by the river (similar to courtyard next door). Other ideas would be a "little library" for resident book sharing and a "little pantry", where residents could "take what you need, leave what you can" for pantry staples.** You cannot beat the riverfront location. Our maintenance team is top-notch, quick to respond to requests for service, and the front office staff are friendly and truly care about the residents and their experience here. They have hosted several events for residents, including an Easter egg hunt for kids and adults, and a beginning of summer party with poolside margaritas and food trucks. From front desk to maintenance, they all go above and beyond to ensure that residents feel at home and are well taken care of and happy. We have been here since February with no complaints, and have just recently transferred to a first floor unit and extended our lease by another 16 months. These apartments were referred to me. They are in a wonderful setting right next to the river. The apartments are spacious and well maintained. The staff member who gave me the tour, Katie, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. These are definitely at the top of my list!
I have a great view of the lake. My patio is very private. Maintenance has been very responsive. Grounds are beautiful. I feel like I live at a resort. Keep up the good work!!!

I haven't leave here long but it upset me when emails aren't responded to. Staff has gotten repeated emails with questions and they have yet to respond to me.
This place is horrible. If you have friends that come over or anyone that babysits your kids, be prepared to get kicked out or put them on the lease. They will hound you and make threats and leave notes on your door. This place is an absolute nightmare. I can’t believe how people could treat someone this way. Not only that but the boat ramp the walk says and all the wood work is out of date. I almost broke my ankle cause of a boar breaking when I was walking down to the pool. I’m just dissatisfied because they expect so much from you but don’t hold themselves to the same standards. Erika is a very rude unprofessional person. Yvette on the other hand is quite the nice person and very reasonable when it comes to understanding. Just be prepared to get your car towed or even get a ticket for parking without a pass even if you are just visiting for 30 mins. This place is to strict and honestly made my life a living hell. Just speaking the truth. Sorry west shore but sometimes people really need to know the truth about how pictures can be deceiving as well as people and their intentions. God bless
I have been living at Westshore Colony since December 2017 and I absolutely love it here! Erika was very patient when she showed us (several times) the different layouts of the apartments that were available for us to move in to. Upon moving in, I had to put a maintenance request in for a loose shower rod and missing toilet paper holder and tada! the next day they were fixed. Last month, I put in a maintenance request for a backed up disposal and for my dishwasher not being secure and bam! the next day my disposal worked and my dishwasher was secure. I see the maintenance crew almost every morning on my way to work & they are so kind and friendly. This morning, my daughter left for work and called me panicking because she couldn't remember if she locked the front door or not. I called Westshore and asked the manager, Roberto, if there was any way someone could check to see if our door was locked and he happily volunteered to check. He sent me an email soon after reassuring me our door was locked!! I felt compelled to write a review today because I was extremely impressed with the Roberto's eagerness to ease my mind. :)
This place is awful. The parking lot is horrible and the gates are constantly open and/or broken. The entrance gates remain open and the exit stay closed. Genius. The management does not keep an eye on the property or who is using the pool or the lake access. Now that summer is here I have had to park somewhere else on the weekends because there is no space available. There is no point in a gate pass if you are going to shut the gate. Unless you are in one of the few lake facing apartments its very noisy because of the freeway or the neighbors with a huge grill on their balcony having a party every weekend that management doesnt seem to care about and that thing faces the office building. They made a big stink (no pun intended) about the dog poop though. :/ The positive is the maintenance crew. They are very quick to respond to inside issues and even check in after an issue. Love them.. Living here though is entirely different. There are much nicer and new places in New Braunfels for the same price as this place.
Pros. -Beautifully kept. -AC keeps it very cool and since the units are up to date, the energy bill isn't outrageous keeping it cool through this Texas heat. Side note, my actual AC unit outside broke down and they replaced it within DAYS. would have been sooner, except it had just reached the weekend. -Staff is super friendly and address any issues that occur. -Location is right off the hwy and next to the river. I don't have a view of it but the park is just stunning. -Even though its by the hwy, it's really quite quiet -Private balconies. Your not facing anyone else balcony Cons. -No free parking past midnight. I work night shift and I had to rent a $30/Mo covered parking spot because all the spaces are taken past a certain hour. -Gate access has no way to leave if you are not in your car. This is why I had to rent covered parking. I had to hop the fence several times since I had to park outside the fence -No gate code (or so they want you to think). They wont tell you the gate code, but you'll hear it by word of mouth if you ask around. -If you don't get the scenic view ($100 ) you have no view. One end faces the parking lot, other end faces the parking lot with apartments. Took me up to the end of my lease to get used to. -Lamp fixture in between bedroom windows is very bright. Had to twist it slightly to shut it off. -Slight infestation, but as soon as I made the property aware they promptly took care of it. Haven't had a problem since, but the possibility of them coming back is always there. at least it was taken care of.
We've recently moved into a single bedroom apartment available at the Westshore Colony Apartments, which has more than adequate amount of space in the living room, the bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet. The kitchen is also spacious but the decor is a little dated. The bathroom and kitchen sink fixtures are up to date and modern. The shower/tub has enough room to accommodate any of your hygienic needs. The single bedroom fits our queen sized bed, dresser, and bookshelf. On the grounds of the complex there are paved walking trails, a very nice sized pool, a sand volleyball court, and a half basketball court. For any who have pets, the management here allows up to two dogs or cats with a small pet deposit. For dog owners there is a dog park. There is on site laundry which comes in handy. A fitness center is also on site for those who are looking to stay in shape.
After a bumpy move-in, at the change of management and the problems that come with a lack of communication from the previous employees, we have had a great experience living at Westshore Colony. They are always looking for way to improve. After someone has moved out they do major upgrades to make sure the apartments are staying up with the times. The outside of the building just received a makeover as well as out parking lots. The staff is always friendly, and eager to please when something is wrong. This is a quiet, yet social complex. With the right distance between the places to socialize and the back patios. Location is more than ideal, you feel like you are living on the river in a quiet neighborhood, but downtown is only 5 min away. Looking forward to renewing my lease. 08/2015
Good apartment, maintenance is always super fast at fixing your issues. Very roomie apartment, has a nice trail in the back next to pool and lake. Haven't had any issues.
