The Upper West Side (or the Upper Westside) refers to the northwestern portion of Atlanta situated between I-75 and I-285. The Upper West Side is brimming with an array of historic neighborhoods, including larger communities like Riverside, Bolton, and Whittier Mill Village. The region is also convenient to neighboring Vinings and Buckhead, which are both teeming with various area employers.
The Upper West Side is a region on the rise, with plenty of new development in the works in addition to community mainstays such as B’s Cracklin’ Barbeque and assorted breweries like Scofflaw Brewing Company, Atlanta Brewing Company, and Second Self Beer Company.
The community is also home to Whittier Mill Park, the former site of Whittier Cotton Mill offering historic ruins and scenic trails to explore alongside the Chattahoochee River. The Upper West Side’s convenient locale, growing amenities, and overall peaceful atmosphere makes it a top choice for renters in the Atlanta area.

Property Ratings at The Mill at Westside
I've been at this property for 2 years and since the management switch it's horrible the elevator is always broken, the garbage isn't always picked up, and if the work order isn't urgent I guess it won't get done. I'm so ready to move

We appreciate your loyalty to our community and candid feedback. We do apologize for any inconvenience regarding our elevator and garbage pick-up and will focus our efforts on addressing these concerns. If you'd like to follow up with us or share more thoughts, please stop by the office or email us at TheMill-PM@pegasusresidential.com. Thank you.
I would never recommend this property, especially for the price. You could get something much better. There is trash in the garage that has been sitting there for the past couple of months. They don’t clean the hallways. There is a huge dumpster sitting on the property that causes gnats to seep into your apartment. Not to mention, there is a refrigerator that has been sitting next to the dumpster for an entire week. The trash service may or may not come and pick up your trash, just depends on how they feel.

Thank you for reaching out. It is important that our residents live comfortably in their homes and in our community, so we regret to hear of any dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of our dumpster areas. We have shared your concerns with our team and are actively working to resolve this. If you would like to follow up with us or have more feedback to share, please come by the office or email us at TheMill-PM@pegasusresidential.com.
The management company has decided to make it harder for resident to receive packages on time now. They are using a company called Fetch that is a two-star company and calling it an excellence service. I was making an Amazon Prime order and notice how the date was delayed once I use the Fetch addressee provided. It was delayed by 5 days, however when I used the Mill at Westside the item would have been here the next and same for Amazon locker. Many residents do not feel this is better but worse. We order medicine so instead of getting it in 2 days we will get it in 5 days unless I drive out to amazon locker. That not a great service, and we have not even mentioned the ant’s problem throughout the building
Property Manager at The Mill at Westside, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. I have reached out to the Fetch representative to speak to them directly about your experience and the comments you made in your review. This is a new program for the community and were working through issues as they are brought to our attention and have also put some proactive measures in place to ensure smooth and timely deliveries. Additionally, our pest control provider has recently treated the entire exterior of all the buildings with a bait treatment to help with the ants. This is done twice a year in conjunction with our weekly service for the interior of the units based on residents request. Thank you and if you have any other concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to Management.
Be very cautious when renting here. Grounds of the property look amazing but are extremely misleading. This community is dangerous and unsafe. My wife and I have been living in this company for a little over a year and since we have been here, the management company has turned over twice and the community manager has turned over at least 3 to 4 times. The staff is like a revolving door and never constant. There has been a shoot out, break ends, Airbnb rentals with rooftop parties, constant weed smoking in the highways and throughout the building. You will people sitting in their cars playing loud music and smoking weed. Drug activity on the second floor. The gate is constantly broken because people ramp into the gate on the way out or try to use the exit gate as entrance just to get into the building. The entrance gate is the same way. The gate is currently broken now from the last instance when someone hit it with their car. The apartment is spacious and nicely updated but please do not ask for maintenance because that will take weeks and require multiple calls for you to follow up. For months, the apartment experience an ant infestation because management refused to do anything about it. Today, management released a statement saying that they will now require your guest to pay $10 to $15 to visit you. This means that if you want company after 7pm, your guest will be required to pay $10 for the first hour and $15 for anything thereafter. Yes, you read that correctly. This is on top of the fees the additional fees associated with renting an apartment at The Mill at Westside. The management at this company will claim that there is security and a courtesy officer at this company but there is none. There is a young woman who rides through the parking garage playing loud music in a security car. Trust me, she is not protecting anything. Please be make sure you ask questions at the leasing office and be sure to pull the police records on this property and do not make the mistake that we did with this community. There are a lot more communities is this neighborhood that are way better. The Mill at Westside is pig with lipstick on and the ghetto and if you lease here, you will see for yourself.

Hi, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to improve. Please contact Management so we can discuss further. Thanks
Never had a worse experience with anywhere I've lived. There's a massive bug infestation in the entire property. There have been multiple shootings, car break-ins, & mail theft. There's SO MANY AirBnb's, which is not only against the lease but a major safety concern for residents. Despite it being a "non-smoking" property, residents have no issue smoking Hookah's @ the pool & on their balconies, in plain sight. In the 28 months here, Management changed so many times I stopped counting. Could not be happier to have moved out of this hell scape masquerading as "luxury intown living".

Hi, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to continue to improve. We wish you the best of luck.
Where do I start. Packages are constantly stolen from the mailroom (because the parcel lockers are always full and packages are left on the counters), the ants and fruit flies are a nightmare, Management seldom answers the phone when you call, the gates slam metal on metal rattling cabinets and everything in your apartment (if you're unlucky enough to live near a gate), the road noise is excessive since they didn't consider such when choosing the windows/insulation on units facing Huff road during construction, you have to reach out multiple times to finally get them to send a lease renewal, knives/patio furniture/lanterns/potted plants flying off balconies in the dead of night went unaddressed, they let the service used to contact the courtesy officer expire so we can't get a hold of him, maintenance requests go unaddressed (and sometimes are just closed with no action taken), you have only 1 day to pay your rent before you're hit with a $250 late fee (you can't pay before the 1st of the month online and it's considered late as of the 2nd), elevators are constantly out of service, and these are just the issues that are coming quickly to mind.

Hi, we truly appreciate your honest feedback. Thanks for bringing this matter to our attention. We would like to get more details about this; please reach out to us at your earliest convenience at location-email.
The first year of living here was GREAT! So, naturally, we signed a lease for another year. Since then, it seems as though there has been a few management changes which has been ANNOYING. There has been little to no communication throughout the process. One of the reasons we went with a community that was more expensive was the amenities (pool, to-go breakfast, fitness room, etc.) now that those are closed we are over paying to simply have a roof over our head. The elevator closest to our apartment has been in and (mostly) out for the last 6-8 months. Mail is CONSTANTLY being stolen from the mail room and NOTHING has been done about it. If you are looking for an apartment in the area, I would look elsewhere until they figure their stuff out.
Absolutely love the location and honestly my specific unit, but management has absolutely ruined this property. I have lived here for almost 2 years and it has increasingly gotten worse. 1. Packages get stolen (a felony) on a DAILY basis, and management does absolutely nothing. Despite DOZENS of residents bringing it to their attention over a span of months, zero extra security or measures have been taken. 2. There are 43 guest parking spots, and 5 handicap spots. By my estimate, anywhere between 300-500 people live here. There is not a way to have guests over after hours if you didn’t plan to have them over before the end of business hours. Having to obtain a paper pass from the leasing office is like putting a curfew on grown adults that overpay for where they live. Your options are to a) not have guests over spontaneously ever (considering the guest parking is ALWAYS 100% full) OR b) take the risk that your guests might be booted or towed in the parking lot across the street. During this pandemic, while management has been near silent to the requests of residents, I see the towing company in and out every morning making their dime off of our neighbors. 3. There is poop everywhere. You will never have shoes that don’t have poop on the bottom ever again. I get it, that’s pet owners problems. BUT there are ZERO poop bag stations on the front of the building, which is unacceptable. Install poop bag dispensers and help us help you keep this place clean. Don’t move here unless you want to fend for yourself regarding the safety, cleanliness, and general satisfaction as a resident.
I do NOT recommend moving to Westside Heights. We are paying way too much money for all the issues we are having. Westside Heights is a property that could have been a great place to live, but poor management/property owners have made so many problems for residents. The package situation is the most upsetting. If you live here, you will have your mail and packages stolen. Packages have been being stolen consistently from the mailroom (on a weekly or even daily basis) and management is unwilling to do anything about it. By my estimate, they’ve received over 100 phone calls from residents over the past few months and have not responded once beyond a “we’ll look into it” and a dismissal. Rent is too high and they have INCREASED it on residents trying to resign leases in the middle of a crisis. On top of that, they added extra charges to our monthly amenities fees even though all amenities have been suspended until further notice. You will never be able to get in touch with management. It doesn’t matter how serious your problem is. It will take weeks or dozens of phone calls and email to get in touch with anyone. Even then, they always just dismiss the problems. Other complaints: elevators were broken for months and they would never provide an update. It's too hard to get guest passes for visitors’ cars. Even though we’re in a pandemic, management or the owners are paying a third party company to boot cars. Residents and their guests’ cars have been booted with no way to get in touch with management to resolve it. Don’t move to Westside Heights. Before you move to any other community, I would recommend you make sure Alliance isn’t the managing company and make sure Starlight isn’t the owning company.
5 of my packages were stolen and the leasing office has never done anything about it after numerous reports from multiple residents. Leasing agents are dumb to the fact of all the theft. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
If you’re into poop, flies, and crime move here! Overall, the individual apartments are decent, however, the community is laden with poop and flies. Large dog owners don’t clean after their dogs so dog poop COVERS the community and provides a comfortable environment for flies. The awesome amenities like BBQ station, dog park, backyard greenery that management promotes on all of their marketing materials and during your lease consultation can’t be enjoyed because of the poop. On rainy/moist days, be prepared to be smacked by an unbearable smell. The community management team does a very poor job of discouraging the behavior and managing the the issue. Crime has increased over time since I’ve lived here. There are several people with non-traditional jobs that encourage questionable behavior and people. There isn’t a robust security team or system so there have been a handful of apartment break-ins and residents are simply notified via email and management takes no immediate action to curb the behavior (no additional cameras, the gate is broken frequently, no security guard). All in all, several things have changed over time that does not make this the top place to live in Atlanta anymore. Not worth the premium rent for some of the junior behavior and lack of regulation by management.
We were one the first tenants at this complex and were impressed with the luxury amenities. HOWEVER, the unit was extremely small at 632 sq. ft. and completely over priced but we were running out of options. There is an active train track like 80 feet away from where we lived. It honked super loud all day and all night. There was some nights it sounded like the train had derailed, we could feel the vibration through our apartment, we couldn't sleep. We brought it to Anita's attention and she told us "oh you guys wouldn't last a day in New York"....great customer service. Didn't switch cause it was $500 just to transfer not including increasing your rent price. I actually found that often times, Anita thought that I actually cared about her rude opinions of my genuine complaints/concerns when in reality I needed her to shut up and do her job. She made holding my tongue really difficult. Parking sucks. We lived on the 2nd floor and noticed a lot of people parking on the 2nd floor and then go up the elevator..why???? Once we left the complex, no one explained to us that we had to cancel our utilities with them because we were moving earlier than our lease ended so they hit us with a bill during times when we weren't even living there and unfortunately had to pay it - lesson learned. Matt, Hilary, and Tasha (when you actually get to speak with her, she helped us out but it was a process to even get to that point) were okay but very stuck up and gave the impression that you were beneath them. For the sake of not having to type an extra long review - cause I could say SO much more, you can do much better than this place, even places on the same street. Wish I could leave a half star only for the pool. Keep hunting, don't move here!!!
This used to be a decent place to live but it has recently gone downhill due to ownership/management issues. -They do not care about security and even told a resident it was "not their concern" - Apparently new ownership cut all of their funding, which lead to them cutting our amenities. No more exercise classes/yoga, no more resident events, no more breakfast in the lobby, etc. Basically all of the stuff that we were sold on when we signed our lease is now gone. You can go anywhere else in the city for around the same price and have a manager and team that will actually work to make sure that your living experience at their property is a good one- but not here.
BREAK-INS! My wife and I moved into Westside Heights in January 2018. After being residents for 3 weeks my truck had the window smashed and several personal items stolen. The first incident occurred in the non-gated first level of the parking garage. The property did not have any sort of security camera in the area. After this I started parking in the gated area thinking this would keep any further break-ins from occurring. Wrong. On July 3rd I was parked on the top floor of the gated parking garage and my truck was broke into again, the perpetrator also broke into a Tesla and another truck. The property does not have any cameras there either. The property has done nothing to notify other residents of the crimes that are being committed where they live. For the premium rents we are paying to live here we should not have to worry about crimes like this being committed. Safety and security should be a top priority. If these criminals can get into the top level of the gated parking garage I'd bet they are able to get into the hallways and walk right up to your front door. I can also attest to the reviews below about people smoking illegal drugs on their porches. I can also attest to the maintenance team being great. The month and a half free rent move in concession we received almost covers the two deductibles and the depreciation gap on the personal items stolen, so move in now so you can receive that great deal as well!
