Property Ratings at Westside Terrace Apartments
I scheduled a tour and drove from the Bay Area to Los Angeles to see the apartment. I called in the morning to double confirm my appointment and the lady said she’d like to cancel the tour, meaning that if I didn't call her, I’ll go there without seeing the apartment. Also, I’d like to ask her more questions and she just hanged up the phone. Now, I know how they manage their property. I won’t choose and visit there! Suggest don’t need to waste your time.
Packages get regularly stolen from the mailroom, which has cameras that the staff “don’t have access to” and the complex is infested with roaches. Don’t move here!
I have been living in this complex for a few years. I have swapped my apartment two times due to sewage issues and water damage from the old pipes running throughout the building. The area is not safe and lots of thieves are constantly stealing cars and breaking car windows and taking stuff out if you park on Sepulveda (my car was stolen 2 months ago and I found it when it was nonoperative). Management/leasing staff are quite rude and they are only nice to you when you are looking to rent out a unit. 3 out of 4 BBQ Grills have been constantly out of service for the past year and nobody is fixing them. The laundry rooms are always dirty, and I can't remember the last time I used the building’s service.
Don’t be fooled by the shiny images. Roaches, surprise fees, smokers, loud dogs, rude neighbours, lazy staff. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
I lived here for a year during the height of the pandemic and it was a nightmare. It felt like living in an overpriced dorm. Noise at all hours, loud neighbors and people having parties with guests wandering the halls late at night yelling and screaming. Also, not particularly secure. Located in an area with a rising crime rate and no security cameras in the hallways or parking garages. And side gate entrances were frequently left propped open by tenants so their guests (or anyone) could wander in. Several tenants cars were broken into while parked in garage. Also, building 1 has a huge water leakage problem. Water was constantly flowing down the walls in the parking garage and hallways leading to elevators. Huge bug problem in the laundry room in building 1. Maintenance is non existent and common areas rarely cleaned. You can do better.
Leasing staff is horrible and will treat you poorly. I was trying to lease for a apartment not long ago but was told before I got the chance to lease to not even bother by the leasing staff because they assume I couldn't afford it. Kind of glad I didn't because I got to see their true colors.
I don't know who wrote those other reviews but this place is no where to live. There are rats and roaches running inside and out of these apartment units. The staff at the leasing office seems nice until you sign the lease then their true colors come out. They treat the tenants poorly! They are rude and have no due diligence. These apartments flood at times due to the old pipes they have and they will take as much as they can from your security deposit when you leave. Please keep looking do not stop here! Take my wise advise.
My boyfriend and I reside here with our 2 furry kids and we couldn't be happier! The leasing managers are very attentive and the security guard is super friendly. Everyone I've come across residing here are very friendly. The street parking is amazing. We're in the process of finding a new residence but nothing compares to the parking Westside Terrace offers!! They've spoiled us (: It's going to be hard to replace this apt complex in the West LA area
Overall the apartments are remodeled and lovely. Good value for the area and what you get. My only wish is that there was more than one parking space available in the garage!
It's 2AM. Much needed rain crashes down upon LA. This new phenomenon--water--seems to surprise my bathroom pipes. Water begins seeping into the bathtub and sink. I call maintenance--Tony answers and a few minutes later he is at my door with some tools. He gets to work right away and my bathroom is fixed in no time. I exaggerate, of course, rain never really crashes down in LA but the Maintenance Staff here at Westside Terrace is perhaps the best team I have ever experienced. They are friendly, they work hard, and they do a good job. To me, effort counts. I have lived at Westside Terrace for almost four years. I am a poor PhD student and so a small studio apartment in an apartment complex with a lot of amenities, like a fitness center, pool, tennis courts, open-access grills, laundry facilities, dry cleaning (that one time a student needs a clean suit), plenty of street parking, and especially on-site maintenance, is a perfect situation for me. Since i have moved here, they even allow dogs now, so it's nice to watch cute puppies playing in the large central outdoor space. There have been a few management changes and of course small hiccups happen to everyone. But through and through, I have only had good interactions with the leasing office and especially the maintenance staff. It is a wonderful place that is walking distance from Trader Joe's and a short drive from downtown Culver City. There is good food around too, and friendly people. As for my studio, the square footage is pretty humble but the design is very good--there is a ton of cabinet and closet space, and the layout is very conducive to maintaining a pretty spacious feel nonetheless. I recommend a walkthrough, the leasing agents are friendly and not too pushy, especially Michelle. So--whether you are far and wide, or just around the corner, I hope this review gives you some insight. Cheers, and happy apartment hunting!
