These are older buildings with a European charm. They are built with an unusal design. Unlike newer apartments which skimp on room size our one-bedroom, one-bath units are a comfortable size (the same can be said about our corner studio units). Many of the apartments have good light and great closet space. Some apartments have a large and outstanding deck (it is like having your own private patio). Each individual apartment features an entry from the outside (something thieves don't like because they can be seen which explains why we've experienced so few attempted break-ins and no burglaries). The property does have a nice pool area that renters like to visit occasionally because of the sunlight and the view of the swimming pool. It's an easy walk from the property to the theaters, markets or restaurants. UCLA is only a block and a half away. The property is well-maintained with a Manager who lives on-site and a 40-hour-a-week maintenance man (which means things are fixed quickly!) Another example of how well kept up this property is that we also employ a gardener who comes once a week and a poolman who services the pool twice a week. For an older property it is extremely well maintained.

Property Ratings at Westwood Apartments, Inc
Review of 2 bed/2 bath apartment: Slightly expensive compared to the other rentals in the area, but convenient and close to the UCLA campus via shuttle/walk. There is a barbeque area which can be reserved. The area near the BBQ is a good spot to relax. As for the apartment itself , pretty quiet, roomy and a lot depends upon how you and your roommate get along. Laundry is present in the building and it has ample parking space within building (extra). A study room is present in the ground floor for those who need to get away from their room and need a quiet spot. Maintenance is pretty quick for actual emergencies, not otherwise. A few rooms might not have actual sunlight but I'm lucky to get natural light. Pros: Privacy - You get your own room and bath. Close to campus. Close to supermarkets and Westwood. Cons: Walls are thin. You might be woken up by people walking around on the upper floors. Parking is expensive. (but par for the area) Not everyone who applies gets in.
In this small rooftop retreat in West Los Angeles I have found home, both solace and sanctuary. The city is constantly growing around me and I see the changes from my terrace flying by at the speed of millions of people. My terrace overlooks Westwood Village and I can see the mountains of Bel Air and Beverly Hills to the North, as well as the ever growing number of towers along Wilshire to the South. My parking is amazingly by my front door, an almost extinct luxury in this city. It is quiet up here in spite of the street level parade of life far below. My garden grows year by year in the ever warming sun. Simple, small, and functional in a complex urban landscape, my home has been mine for a decade now. The fight for peace, comfort, and a place to rest in this busy world can be our greatest challenge. I am lucky to be here.
