Nestled into the space carved out by I-410, TX-151, and Cleto Rodriguez Freeway, Westwood is a lovely self-contained suburb that provides a peaceful community atmosphere just 15 miles outside the hustle and bustle of downtown. The neighborhood sits just under San Antonio’s Inner West Side and is full of unique taquerias, convenient shopping centers, and lively parks.
Westwood’s proximity to Lackland Air Force Base makes it perfect for servicemen. After all, the homes and apartments here have remained relatively affordable in comparison to the rest of the area. Property Ratings at Westwood Plaza
I recently lived at Wetwood Plaza Apartments, and my experience was far from positive. Like many others, I grappled with a range of serious issues that made my time there frustrating. First and foremost, the pest problem is alarming. I dealt with infestations of rats and roaches that persisted despite my numerous complaints to management. The lack of effective pest control left me uneasy in my own home, and coexisting with these unwelcome guests was a daily struggle. The condition of the units is another major concern. My apartment had outdated appliances and maintenance issues that seemed unresolved. From malfunctioning kitchen appliances to leaking faucets, I expected better for the rent I was paying. Many residents share this sentiment, feeling that the living conditions don’t justify the high rental rates. Wetwood Plaza is overpriced compared to similar properties in the area. It often felt like I was trapped in my lease, with few affordable alternatives nearby, which only added to my frustration. Customer service was another significant issue. Communicating with management about maintenance requests and pest control was challenging, with slow response times making me feel like my concerns weren’t taken seriously. This lack of urgency contributed to an overall negative experience. Parking was another major headache. The spaces around the apartments are plagued by large potholes and buckled streets that can flood when it rains. For someone unfamiliar with the area, these potholes can be hard to spot, potentially damaging vehicles. Limited parking availability during peak hours compounded my stress, making daily life even more challenging. Moreover, the trash disposal situation was frustrating. Overflowing bins often went unemptied for days, creating an unsightly environment and attracting pests. Adding to my discomfort was the presence of a homeless population nearby, which raised safety concerns whenever I walked to my car. In summary, my time at Wetwood Plaza Apartments has been a cautionary tale. The ongoing pest issues, high costs, poor maintenance, and inadequate management responses created an atmosphere I found intolerable. If you’re considering moving here, I urge you to weigh these factors carefully. Your home should be a refuge, not a source of constant frustration. Based on my experience, it might be wise to explore other options that offer a more comfortable living environment.
I lived here for 5 yrs my apt flooded due to the rain causing electrical problems mold and my carpet was never replaced the walls were filled with mildew and mold the refrigerator went out n was never replaced. This is the worst place I have ever lived
I was extremely impressed with my leasing experience and the whole affordable package with Westwood Plaza, especially with Esmerelda. She was very professional, friendly and extremely helpful with the whole process. She even came into the office on one of her vacation days just to make sure that I was able to get moved in. I would absolutely recommend Westwood Plaza to anyone that needs an affordable place and great office staff.
i have been in San Antonio almost 7 years i am never see better than this apartment from inside and outside and area too..everything close to me.and the leasing office very friendly and helpful people especially the owner he answers the phone call for any problem we got even in Saturday and Sunday night and he send the maintenance immediately i want to say thank you westood plaza office
I lived here for a year and a half this place is a very bad apartment complex to live in believe me apartment complex do not care about the people that live there the good ones they only care about the Battle ones the time that I lived here at these apartments I have rats roaches sewer problem air condition problems they never fix my stuff they would find something for them to look good and that it was not their fault oh also drug trafficking prostitution if you planning to live here look somewhere else this is not a good place to live very bad
when I first moved into these apartments I heard a lot of bad reviews I even had a woman tell me when I was in the leasing office to ...not move in but I trusted my instincts and moved in anyways and my apartment is beautiful inside and out I love it couldn't ask for anything better!!
