Property Ratings at Westwood Village Apartments
I'm on year 11 at Westwood Village. The carport is a blessing in the winter and the pools are excellent in the summer. My favorite amenity is having a laundry room just steps away from my front door.
The best thing(s) about this apartment are 1. Staffs( prompt in resolving maintenance requests) 2. Friendly neighborhood 3. Spacious outdoors 4. Great living room 5. Keeping apartment up to date. 6. Unique thing is summer and winter holiday contest with exiting prizes.
I’ve lived here for almost 4 years. It’s an older complex, but has been up-kept well. It’s spacious, quiet building, covered parking. Great location—easy to get to the highways and various stores in neighboring cities. The staff is nice and works hard to build community (in-person/virtually).
I moved to Westwood Village Apartments in June of 2003. I moved out briefly to house sit for my daughter in 2008 and returned back to Westwood Village in 2009. Management and maintenance have been awesome. By me still living here after all these years speaks volume.I would highly recommend living here.
My experience here has been more negative than anywhere I have ever lived before. When I did my walk-thru the smell was disgusting; it smelled like urine. The carpet was in such unacceptable shape and literally felt sticky when you walked on it, and there were corners that were frayed and pulled up with exposed nails. There was animal hair PAINTED in to my baseboards in my dining room. A piece of the fridge was falling off, there were weird little marks all over the counters which I have now discovered are marks from the rubber bumpers on the bottom of appliances like toasters/blenders/microwaves, because the counters literally are so terrible that they stick so hard to these and rip them out. There were dead wasps all over my carpet. I sent pictures of all of this to them - they agreed to replace the carpet within a couple of weeks, which was great, but undoubtedly super inconvenient being that I had all my stuff moved in at that point. When the carpet people replaced my carpet they showed me the foam layer with literally DOZENS of urine stains all over it. Over the course of the next couple of months - white paint had begun peeling from my bathroom sink and tub. You could clearly tell it had been painted to hide damage/wear - there were big chips of paint missing from the sink and the tub is now yellow. They did replace my bathroom sink. I currently have both of my bedroom windows covered in plastic to prevent drafts due to the windows being incredibly outdated and so poorly sealed. The plastic is inflated and the blinds still move even with the plastic on - so that right there should be enough to indicate that they need to replace the windows - but maintenance was pretty blunt that this wouldn't happen and offered to "install" better plastic over the windows for me if I bought it. Real life. My electric bill dropped down $100 in one month. They are now charging me to get a key for the gym that I was never given. Apparently there is no way they made an error, and I must have lost the key. I can tell you with ZERO doubt, I never had the key. They went on about how they have a process that would make it impossible, but then tell me how on the day that I moved in I had to take my keys back because I didn't have the right keys for the building? Even with bringing this up - nothing. They told me $75, but ultimately offered to replace it for $20. I mean I'm glad for that, but I should not have to pay anything.
Have lived here a little over a year, and have had both of my cars burglarized. Raptor had the window broken in and over $1500 worth of stuff stolen (sub woofers, light bar, basketball shoes, headphones). A Challenger that had the wheels attempted to be stolen, but I have wheel locks and a security system on that vehicle. Overall, Its a nice place to live with a friendly staff. Galila at the office is one of my favorite people because of her energy and care for the patrons at Westwood. However, 1 star because you apparently have to drive a piece of junk to live here safely.
May 9, 2017 I've lived here for almost a year and found the location great, neighbors awesome and exceptional service from the staff. Most recently (yesterday) I really needed maintenance for a garbage disposal issue. I had a flooded kitchen due to the tenant above me (unbeknownst to him )throwing rice and pasta down their disposal which turns into a hard ball after time and clogs the drains. It flooded his and my kitchen. Roter Rooter was called and never showed up until after 10pm. Mike (the maintenance supervisor) sat outside my apartment until they arrived and stayed till they left Poor Mike and Dale in Maintenance had to put up with my venting. Way above and beyond the call of duty guys. Kudos also too Danielle, for getting me help so fast. Robin, Christa, Diane, Nicole and G. G. (you know why girl!). Incredible Office Staff for always being prompt, patient, helpful and sweet to me when I'm being a pain. You all are really great!!
I moved here with my boyfriend a few months ago. Our experience has been exceptional from the start. The staff has been friendly and helpful every step of the way. The maintenance crew is quick and effective and I have never out of any apartment I have lived in had such friendly and considerate neighbors. I now know most of the people in my building and it gives me a lot of peace of mind when I am home alone. Both my boyfriend and I highly recommend Westwood Village apartments.
I have lived at Westwood for going on 10 years. I just wanted to leave a quick note to say "Thank you" to the staff at Westwood. There was an issue regarding lighting over the main door to our apartment and some of the lights inside the hallway were out. I called to advise of the problem and it was not resolved right away. I had concerns leaving for work & coming home in the pitch dark! I called back into the office and I spoke with Gigi. She recognized my frustration & didn't hesitate to get me connected with a supervisor/manager-I think his name was Mike (sorry for the terrible memory!). He explained the problem they were having with the lighting and assured me he was going to look into it personally. He followed up with a phone call later in the afternoon to let me know the issues were resolved and to let him know if the lights were working when I got home. I was happy to see that I did not have to use my flashlight to walk from my car to my building that evening! I appreciate that Gigi did not just brush off my concerns/complaints and she took the time to escalate my call to the proper person. I also appreciated that Mike followed up with me after looking into my complaint. Westwood Staff, thank you for the great customer service and how you handled an "upset" residents phone call! Complaints are going to happen in a business, but it is how you handle those complaints that reflect on you. Thank you to the office & maintenance staff for all that you do to make living here pleasant. PLEASE keep doing what you are doing...we do notice & it is appreciated!
Terrible apartments. There is always some or the other maintenance issue. They do not send maintenance guys if its weekends ( no matter how bad the maintenance issue is). There is always a water leak. I lived here for 12 month out of which 2 months were only for maintenance issues and I had to live somewhere else as I could not live in a house where practically everything leaks everywhere. I would never ever rent a place here EVER!
Ive lived here for 4 years. The accommodations are exceptional. The location is perfect. The staff here at Westwood are very accommodating, along with the mainence crew. Who are trustworthy, extremely efficient, very kind and prompt.
My family and I stayed at their sister company Woodland Villa first before our apartment caught fire. We were able to move in right away! The staff is just as friendly as the staff at Woodland Villa. Any issues requesting for maintenance was taken care of in a timely manner. Like any other apartment living you always have those noisy neighbors, which is out of our control. Overall, it was an ok living experience.
I have lived at the Westwood Village Apartments for the past 2 years. The staff is great, maintenance is quick and the amenities are outstanding. The complexes are well kept and most of all the community is outstanding.
Horrible place to live, the management are insulting. If you ask some of the current tenants living there (as I have) many residents avoid the management because they are insulting and difficult to work with. For some reason, in the south end of the complex, people who don't live there just show up and use it as a gathering area. People show up, park in the overhead parking, then duck under the parking and go into the wooded area. Management will not do anything about it. I can't wait until I move!
The only thing I don't like about living here is the fact that our bathroom isn't very well ventilated, we have problems with mold if we're not careful. Otherwise, everything is wonderful! Friendly neighbors, great staff, maintenance is awesome and knowledgeable, the grounds are beautiful. Love the location, so close to the freeways.
