As Wisconsin’s capital and second largest city, Madison is situated in the heart if America’s Dairyland. Aside from the city’s farming history, Madison is also known for its lakeside recreation and relaxation on Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, and Lake Waubesa. Interstates 90 and 94 make commuting as easy as possible in the area, even to major metropolises like Milwaukee, located roughly 80 miles east of town on Lake Michigan.
Home to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison draws in many residents for its college sports and top-notch educational opportunities. Between the Badgers basketball and hockey games at the Kohl Center to the Badgers football Games at Camp Randall Coliseum, there’s always a college game to cheer for. The university features all kinds of entertainment options, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum, a major natural attraction in the city.

Property Ratings at Whispering Pines
If I had known about the disastrous parking situation, I would never have moved here. Since moving in just a few weeks ago, I have spoken to the property manager twice and was told that each unit is allowed two vehicles, but only one space. Okay... so where is MY space? Visitor parking at the back is usually full meaning that I have to park in front of the first building and walk across a dark, grassy hill at 2 am after returning from work. This is not just inconvenient, but dangerous. Both Castleberg Properties and the HOA board should be ashamed about this mess and especially when a simple solution is within reach. Am already planning on my next move OUT of this 'amazing condo community.'
I lived in a 2nd floor unit on this property. It is spacious enough to accommodate a small family, with lofted ceilings which add an expansive feeling to the environment. Maintenance is responsive, friendly, and quick to service requests. The property manager is friendly and works as much as she can in the best interest of the resident. The neighborhood is mostly populated by families; on any given day in the summer, you're likely to find young children playing around with each other, giving off a neighborly, residential vibe. There is a bike path right near the property which leads to the UW Arboretum. Just down the road there is an elotero and various food truck vendors selling their wares near the elementary school, adding to the charm of the neighborhood. Lastly, there is a pool, which is restricted to the residents of Whispering Pines and their guests. This is a cozy, affordable place to live. Just before I moved out of my condo (for reasons unrelated to the quality of the place,) the property began making renovations to the buildings, replacing the siding and front doors of each unit only adding to the value of the place and communicating an investment in the people who live there. It was a pleasure to have lived there as long as I did.
I currently live in a 2 bedroom and I've enjoyed my stay at Whispering Pines. James the property manager has always be really flexible and accommodating for my roommate and I. We didn't have to call maintenance often but when we did it our issues were resolved promptly. I love that the biking trail is right next to the complex and easy to access. Neighbors are pretty quiet and you get a lot of fresh air as the area is close to some woods. The grounds are pretty and kept clean. The apartment itself is spacious and I loved the lofted ceilings for the 2nd floor. I'll really miss this place!
