When the Woodlands was created as a master-planned community, the developers wanted to retain as much of the natural, wooded landscape as possible. As a result, this aptly-named community features 135 parks, 210 miles of hiking and bicycling trails, more than 1,800 acres of open green space, and 14 swimming pools. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion provides an open-air concert site, and several lakes and canals -- including the vast Lake Woodlands -- add even more beauty to the community. The Woodlands is home to several golf courses, including the Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course, the Tournament Course at the Woodlands Country Club, and the Club at Carlton Woods: Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.
While apartments in the Woodlands are terrific for commuters -- just 28 miles north of Downtown Houston and directly off I-45 -- the Woodlands is no longer considered the bedroom community it was designed to be.

Property Ratings at Whispering Pines Ranch
Pitiful experience with management and issues with the apartment and complex itself. Not just little things, we're talking major livability concerns that were not addressed. You'll get treated like the dumpster outside, which is quite literally infested with rats and not properly maintained. Most positive reviews are from people who have just moved in and have not experienced the long term yet.
We moved to the Houston area so I could participate in a career transition program leaving the military. Cathy was able to get us situated with a short term lease option so that our family could live in a nice safe place during my internship. We were in a recently updated apartment and were happy with the upgrades and cabinetry. Management hosts community meetings and various family events throughout the year. Residents have a part in their community upkeep, which I feel is important to any community you belong to. Everyone plays a part in disposing of their trash properly and taking care of their animal droppings. While the property had occasionally had an issue with the trash compactor, it was generally resolved quickly. The rent from what I could tell was on par with the area, gas and grocery are right across the street. I'm happy and thankful for Cathy and her team members to have a safe place for my family. I ended up with an offer to stay in Houston full time, and if it wasn't such a commute and we were looking to rent, we would stay.
This place is advertised as a luxury apartment, it is not. The complex is maintained by a couple of men who try as they might are not keeping the property up to par. There are musty smells broken facilities and the exterior is horrendous. Don't get me started on the trash situation, it's unsanitary conditions every weekend, people literally pile their trash on the side of the building and it's really bad. Look closely if you drive though, you can see the property is barely hanging on. Parking is horrible most nights when conning home around 8pm we have no parking even remotely near our building. If you need a place to live, I would just advise people to look closely and see your actual apartment before signing a lease. Unfortunately we did not have that option, we are now paying to get out of our lease because of all these problems, among other issues that are being handled with the office.
I went to the leasing office to ask for a tour for a vacant apartment that I have already seen in apartment.com, the lady in the leasing office I don’t know her name.. she has brown hair until shoulder..she didn’t ask me to sit.. or welcome..she was talking like a record that she don’t know! It was really strange and road ... if she don’t know ..who will know..is it me...I wonder what’s her job.. is it to make it difficult or make it easy for customers.. this is only mean that she is racist or she is keeping the vacant for somebody..!!
If you are looking for a fair and balanced approach to your valid misunderstandings or grievances, this may not be the place for you as management looks at all things through its prism ---there is no room for discussion. And they know that you have no real option but to take it ---or move? If you don't mind looking at piles of white plastic trash bags filled with everyone's garbage in the heat of summer, every weekend, stacked four feet high outside THE ONLY TRASH ENCLOSURE AREA FOR THE WHOLE COMPLEX, this might be the place you call home. If your familiar with the concept of LANDLORD & SERF, and you don't mind playing the role of serf, this might be the place for you. If you don't mind setting your watch to the TWIN RODENTS who show up at around 6:00 each night and run down the side of the pool area every evening during the summer, this might be the place for you. Note: The rodents appear to be very well fed, possibly from the STACK OF STINKING TRASH BAGS BY THE ONLY TRASH ENCLOSURE FOR THE WHOLE COMPLEX. If you don't mind running out of space on the check-in sheet because there are just too many items to list, this might be the place for you. Keep in mind this is the same sheet that management will use against you when you move out ---there is no room for discussion, as they will say you should have listed it. If you expect staff (that means everyone below the GM) to be nice and have a cavalier approach to work, this might be the place for you.
We are new tenant at the Whispering Pines and we were hesitant to sign a lease after reading some of the reviews. We came to the leasing office twice before we decided to sign. It has been the best decision of our life. We are so satisfied. Leasing Office: They are very attentive, responsive, approachable. I moved from Canada and they made it extremly smooth transition, signing the paperwork. Special Thanks to Brittany, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She came in on her off days to make sure all paperwork is in order so that we could move-in without any last minute issues. They do not trick you into long term lease. You know exactly what you are signing up for since all is online and you have access to this information. Concierge: We can still remember the positive vibe that welcomed us the first day we walked in to this building looking for an apartment. Honestly, it was one of the reasons we came back for the second look and signed. Mail Your deliveries are always safe with concierge and you get an email telling you when your package is available. 24 hr access to your package. Overall, moving to Texas from Canada was nerve wrecking. They made the process so smooth and they have already become family. Great places for families, Professionals and pets.
From calm and quiet to nice renovations this is a pretty cool place to live the women who run it are nice understanding and help in any way they can there's always something going on to meet your neighbors at the club house and if you need something fixed the job gets done asap. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because some residents seem to not respect the amenities And can trash them so I'm not always able to get a good workout in or a nice game of basketball. But aside from that I love the neighborhood great deal on the apartment gives you every reason to stay.
