Property Ratings at White Oak Apartments
I would specifically like to compliment Misty's (Assistant Manager) hard work in assisting my move-in; it has been one of my smoothest move-in experiences. The apartment is the cleanest place I've moved into, including all the nooks and crannies. Even the drawer under the oven was spotless, which has been missed in the every other complex I've lived in. It's been a pleasure interacting with Misty and the staff of White Oak Apartments, I'd definitely recommend the complex to my friends and acquaintances (which I wouldn't say about every place I have lived). The complex is a short drive to Walmart, Maumelle Blvd, the I-430 on ramps and I-40; super convenient. Random comments: The gym is well-stocked and modern compared to some apartment gyms I've seen, the landscaping crew has great taste, nights are calm and quiet. There were some issues with the gate system when I was moving in, but I haven't had an issue since.
Spacious 1 bedroom apartment with screened patio door. Very quiet and neighbors are nice. Plenty of natural light comes in each day...great for indoor plants! The fact that I do not have to pay extra for covered parking and washer/dryer is a plus! The manager did a great job with working me on my move in date, which was delayed due to the weather. She has also been great each time I have been in contact with her. You will not be able to put holes in the walls so order plenty of command strips...they are amazing! I feel safe and secure here! I would recommend this property in a heartbeat!
Modern amenities, high ceilings, covered parking included, friendly staff. I’ve had ZERO maintenance issues to report! Nice pool, modern and clean gym that I SHOULD be using. Reasonable utilities, 2 dog parks. I’m fortunate to have quiet, friendly, respectful neighbors. I can only hope to find something comparable when I move out of state.
Whenever it rained, mold would get on my balcony doors and ceiling area over my balcony. I know that during August & September 2016, there were multiple car break-ins; however, management never made it a priority to tell residents about these break-ins. In October 2016 there were at least 2 attempted/completed apartment break-ins and again, rather than informing the residents in some manner (a simple “be sure to lock your doors and windows” newsletter would have sufficed), they ignored the problem entirely. It was only through other residents and pulling NLRPD police reports that I found out about the break-ins. ~Management~ The assistant managers that were there while I was a tenant (they were on their fourth when I moved out) were very nice and professional; the main manager, on the other hand, was very rude and condescending to myself and other residents. Management started fiercely tacking on an additional $75 for late rent payment to those they knew were employed and could eventually pay the fee; however, I know for a fact that they created a position within the complex for one resident who could not afford to pay their rent. The manager was good friends with this tenant, so she created a “job” for said tenant. Rental payment enforcement was again another ambiguous thing with management. When I had any major concerns with issues I felt weren’t being resolved and asked to speak to the owner of the complex, they refused to give me the owners name. I, along with other residents, felt like if the owner(s) knew what was going on, they would do more to resolve the issues with both the general complex and management. If you take the manager out of the equation, the apartment complex overall is pretty nice for the amount you pay. However, dealing with the main manager was a nightmare and made my experience living at White Oak a negative one. My suggestion would be to find a different apartment complex to move in to if you’re considering moving to White Oak. While they are physically appealing, all of the drama with management puts a damper on appearances and as they say, appearances aren’t everything. If they ever replace the manager, I believe everyone’s experience living at White Oak will be much better.
I have lived at this apartment for just under a year now. The managers are absolutely wonderful. They are kind and very down to earth. Maintenance is quick and easy, and the grounds are always kept very nice. There are officers that live in the complex which is nice. We have never had any issues with professionalism with management or maintenance. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
