Property Ratings at Whitehall Gardens
1) In the 6 years of living here, rent has only increased by $40. I had no problems with that. This year the rent renewal contract had a increase of 7%. I was shocked to see how much the new rent was. I don't know if this is for everyone or if its just a case by case, but I was highly shocked about this. 2) They are not pet free community. Their are a lot of people with dogs here. All you need to do is claim you need the dog for emotional support, maybe need a doctor note, and they let you have one.
I stayed in the 2br apartment for about 3 years and loved it. Well kept grounds, good neighbors clean spacious apartments will definitely recommend to anyone.
The negative reviews made me hesitant to look here, but I am very glad I did. I moved in 6 months ago to an updated apartment with new appliances. I have had no issues with neighbors or maintenance what-so-ever. It is connected to other developments that are safe to run through, it is quiet, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my stay so far. Worth taking a look!
My experience thus far has been a nightmare. It takes forever for anything to get fixed despite numerous attempts. I have had more problems with living here than any other place I’ve lived prior. Toilet was clogged for 2 weeks and continues to get clogged every 2-3 days. Among so many other issues, such as... leaks in the ceiling (that i was told can’t be repaired until the winter months were over), for a few days no heat or hot water, apartment isn’t sealed properly (i.e. under sinks, holes in closets, between baseboards and flooring, & cracks in window seals) and so bugs roam freely. The worst of it all is that there is an infestation of silverfish!! They are worse than roaches!! They eat through your clothes and get into sealed food. They had the exterminator come out during the he day and nothing was done. I was told that he couldn’t find the actual bugs so nothing was done to resolve the issue. Silverfish tend to hide during the day but emerge at night which is when we are overwhelmed with their presence everywhere in the apartment. There are so many more issues but I’ll leave it at that and say to proceed with caution.

Spider, centipedes, ants, roaches and the exterminator company they use a joke. Poor quality flooring peeling and carpet doesn't all line up to the wall.

We moved in to Whitehall Apartments in June, 2017 me and my daughter. Despite the bad reviews that we read on line, we decided to visit the place and see it for ourselves. We went to the office and found Andrea who was kind, gentle and very friendly. She gave us all the information we needed and we promised to give her a call once we have made a decision. One week later we came back to tell her that we had decided to take the Apartment. We moved in on 06/01/2017 and we had very few minor issues that were fixed immediately by Hosea who was very helpful. We enjoyed staying in that Apartment, a place we could call home, quiet, clean environment until my daughter decided to go back to school. I moved to a one bedroomed Apartment last year which also had a few minor issues that were fixed by Alberto who has always been very professional and accurate in his work. I am very happy to be one of the residences in this complex and in future if I decided to leave I will miss this place and to be very honest, I have visited other Apartments, and there is nothing like Whitehall. The employees especially the once I have dealt with directly, ANDREAS, HOSEA and ALBERTO, You are the once who keep us here because of your good work and the way you have maintained this Apartments. As for the Apartment seekers, my advice is that, don't be put off by negative reviews, go and check out for yourselves. You will never regret having rented an apartment in this complex believe me. And if you are looking for a Comfortable, Quiet, beautiful home with wonderful maintenance, then this is the place. As for the management, your Office Sales Associate (Andreas) in Whitehall Apartments and Maintenance (Hosea and Alberto) deserve promotions for their good job. They are the once who keep this place to be what it is.

Hi there, thank you so much for your positive comments about Whitehall Gardens! We are so happy to read such a great review and hope that you will continue to be happy living at our community! Sincerely, Whitehall Gardens Management
I have lived here for 4 years and can honestly say they take forever to fix or complete any maintenance you may need on the apartment. The amount of time it takes for them to complete, you could have had someone else do it. You can log into their website and submit any requests you may need or give them a call. I have called several times but all you get is a answering machine. How is a company that huge take 3 weeks to change a AC filter or 2 weeks to fix the tiles in the bathroom walls??? This is honestly ridiculous.
I have lived in Whitehall for two years. The first year was fine I had no issues. Two months after I signed my lease for the next year new neighbors moved in below me. They are twenty years old and the boyfriend is a registered criminal. Apparently you can't rent here if you have a criminal background but they get away with it because his name isn't on the lease. Shortly after they moved in we found out he deals pot. He used to smoke blunts on his first floor balcony and did not even stop or try to hide it when you walked by. They would have people in and out of the apartment at all hours of the day and night. He would also smoke pot inside and the smell would fill our staircase because the walls are so paper thin. The lady who lives next door to us has complained MANY times and nothing was ever done. They blast their music in the middle of the afternoon during the weekends (and maybe the week days but unlike them I'm at work so I wouldn't know). We have rang their door bell to tell them to stop but they completely ignore us. One Sunday we were having a quiet day relaxing when they started blasting their music. We called the office and the woman who works during the weekend told my boyfriend to go downstairs and tell them to stop and when he said that he didn't want to because they do not listen to us and he knew it would lead to an altercation the woman told him to deal with it because there was nothing they could do since it was during normal hours. I have emailed and called the property owners twice and there has been nothing done and never even got a response. Recently they were smoking pot in their apartment and the cops were called The girl answered the door and said it wasn't them it was the people above her. SHE BLAMED US FOR THE SMELL EVEN THOUGH POT HAS NEVER BEEN IN MY APARTMENT I was not home at the time but the cop rang our door bell and when my boyfriend answered he said it smells like pot in here and people are complaining about you smoking in here. Our staircase smelled like pot because of the guy next door so the cop yelled at my boyfriend to stop smoking pot. So now the cops think we smoke pot in our apartment. The next night I peeked out the window and watched the guy coming home with his pants so filled with drugs he had a hard time keeping them on. These are the types of people Whitehall allows in their apartments. Needless to say I will not be extending my lease. Good luck to whomever gets my apartment when we leave.

I am a current resident and I must say I rather live in the hood. There has been multiple robberies and the head woman in charge has to much on her plate. There is a problem with ants and the maintenance team sucks. I have never been so disappointed with my living arrangements until I moved here. Please don't fall into the nice sign outside saying your welcome and the beautiful up keeping of the lawns. Everything is falsified once you move in. The head lady I think her name is Andrea stops answering her phone and getting in touch with maintenance is impossible. I really hate it here especially since I thought it would be better according to the reviews. Please believe me when I say only move here if it's your last choice.

we moved from CT to NJ last March knowing no one here. The house hunt was started in January itself. Searching for the apartments safe n secure, reasonable rent, facilities included all in one place is really a tedious job. Being with single salary we had to be sure the rent should be within our budget. Also being with 18 months old kid we had to be more sure the area is secure. We were in the quest for real treasure house which can be felt as home at the very moment we saw it... Guess what.... We found one. Exactly as we expected. White Hall Gardens in Somerset it really a place you cherish staying. The surrounding is cool as the people here are so polite and caring. The maintenance are prompt and helpful. Parking space is well adequate. Regarding security, all the locks are new and there's a police vehicle always within the community. The playarea is filled with happy children and wonderful parents. The house, what to say, wonderfully built and ventilated. The closets are well spacious. Washer n drier in each house that there's no need for me to either leave my kid alone or to carry both him and the clothes to the laundry unit. The most important thing is that this is one of the newly built apartments in late 90s whereas many others in this locality was built in 60s and 70s. Last but not least, I really felt this house as my new home the very moment I saw this. All our friends envy us that we got the beautiful home in such reasonable rent in NJ,

We always love to receive great feedback. Thank you!
This is a nice place to live. It's close to one of the main public transportations corridors in the area. It is close to many eating places and doctor offices. The complex is very well maintained.
Well, where should I begin...? I'll start with maintenance : Always there when you need them. Responds in a timely manner. Keeps the grounds and units up to par. Grounds ar clean, no animal mess. Rental office staff very nice and accommodating. The only thing I'd ask them to change is answering the phone more often. The units are very well kept. When I moved in, the unit was very clean, not much to clean when moving in. The only thing I can say about the units are: the flat paint that are on the walls don't look very well. The units upstairs should be carpeted, instead it's the opposite. I love where I live.
Do you desire a place you can go and have peace and quiet after a long days work? Do you want to have all of your household needs taken care of without any worry? Do you want to live in a place that is affordable? Then you need to check out Whitehall Gardens, I have been here for 3 years, the management team is "off the chain".Explore Whitehall Gardens in Somerset New Jersey, you will be glad you did.
