Property Ratings at Whitewood Pond Apartments
I moved in on May 1, 2024 and I have nothing, but great things to say about my new home and experience! Laurie, the property manager, was fabulous from day 1 and incredibly reliable, responding quickly to any and all questions or concerns. The maintenance gentleman is reliable, timely, and an absolute sweetheart. I have reached out 3 times for small request to be handled and they were handled in the same day! The property is clean, beautifully maintained, and I feel very safe. Parking and trash removal also couldn't be better! Getting mail and packages is also a breeze. If you're looking for a new home, this spot is perfect and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone I know!
I rented an apartment here and it has been great. From start to finish Laurie has been the best and she knows what she is doing I would recommend anyone to come and move here. Great property manager she is just awesome!!!!!!
I enjoy the unique layout but in may of 2022 management changed and rent is increasing 40-50% for the people living there with no changes in the amenities. The new company redid the asphalt and communicated it would be done in segments to limit disruptions, but proceeded to do all the work at once leaving us to park off the property and walk a quarter mile or so just to get here. The parking lot was redone only 2 years before and was in good shape the new work was mostly throwing new asphalt down directly over top what was already there greatly increasing the drop at storm drains now. They are also repainting the place and not only does that look ugly it’s poorly done and the lines between black and white paint are crooked. Under the new management the dumpsters are no longer being emptied regularly and are frequently overflowing. Maintenance on the once beautiful pond has stopped and 90% of the pond is now covered in scum. I feel fortunate to have renewed my lease when I did but I, and many of the people I have talked to living here cannot afford a $500 increase in rent, especially when nothing new is being added

While we welcome all feedback, we're very sorry to know you feel this way. Our team is excited and committed to making great improvements to the property. We are proud of the work that is being completed, though we certainly never intended it to cause any inconvenience to any resident, and apologize if you feel that was the case. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we invite you to reach out to us at (475) 313-5858 to discuss any of these matters in more detail and happy to share the improvements we will be making to this community. Thank you.
As the title states avoid the apartments. I recently moved out and i didnt receive my full security deposit back because they claimed my cat damaged the apartment. i have an older cat who is litterbox trained, sleeps in my bed and on the cat tree all day. I did my final walkthrough with the maintenance guy and he checked off the apartment was okay and signed off on the move out sheet. There was no damage but the owner claims my cat "pissed" on the carpet and there was such a bad odor that it needed to be replaced. The Carpet wasnt replaced before I moved in but I was charged to replace it because "it should last 10 years". When asked to see pictures or proof of the damage to the carpet i was told "we save the carpet until the issue is resolved so if you want take it to court, we will see you there". I was told that it was more of an odor so looking for stains would be useless. Also one of the bedroom walls was covered in black surface mold so bad when i attempted to clean it, it kept spreading to the point that i called mainenance and they said leave it they will "clean in". In the bedroom there is also an A/C unit which I had to ask to be replaced because there was mold growing INSIDE the vent where the air comes out. The maintenance guy came to the apartment and cleaned the air filter screen and said i was good to go. i called again to say there was still mold in the VENT and the next day it was replaced. Also behind the toilet the wall is black from the mold growing. The apartments are cheap because they are terrible living conditions. Please save yourself the hassle and headache and do not move in.
My apartment at Whitewood Ponds is the perfect place to find peace. All the apartments face a beautiful duck pond with a calming waterfall. It is set back among nature while having the convenience of everything North Haven, Hamden, and New Haven have to offer. It is literally 7 minutes down the road from Modern Pizza, an amazing well known Italian restaurant in New Haven. It is the ideal place to get back to yourself.
Whitewood Pond apartment is a great place for anyone who is single. Quite area with easy access to the highway. Apartment is a great size in the way it is designed. Although it is a apartment it feels more like a condo. Parking is never a problem. Wall to wall carpeting.
I found this place and immediately loved the ponds outside and the unique layouts of the apartments themselves. All of my friends can't believe the amount of space fora one bedroom apartment and the great price. Ii live on the third floor and enjoy a great view each day. Balconies are available on the second floor and porches on the first floor. This location is close to major highways like 91 and 15 but due to the long drive way to the apartment building, it is very quiet. The other tenants Ii have talked to have been very pleasant and the staff is quick with repair jobs and answering questions.
Our stay in Whitewood Pond Apartments was amazing. The office staff and maintenance was superb. Any problems (very few) were taken care of immediately. The apartments are quite large and an interesting layout. All of our guests commented on how unique they were! Yes, the kitchens are small, but I found I was still about to get a lot of cooking done with the help of a kitchen cart. Also, because it was small, I was able to keep it fairly clean, which was an awesome habit I hope to keep up! We were on the top floor of one of the odd numbered units and because of the alcove in our bedroom, my daughter was able to have her own "room" with the help of a separating curtain. Now that's she's a bit bigger and doesn't need the crib anymore, it's time for her own room so we need to move. We saw reviews before moving in about thin walls and being able to hear the neighbors, but we never had a problem, unless it was completely silent in our apartment. The view cannot be beat. I thought maybe after a year, I would barely notice the pond, but it's beautiful in all the changing seasons and I have so many photos from out my window. The geese are a joy to watch, especially when they have babies in the spring and we can watch them grow up! We feel completely safe, as well. The parking lots are well-lit and the cameras give us peace of mind. I've left my car unlocked and a few neighbors leave their windows down and I've never heard of a problem. They just installed new windows, as well as insulated skylights this year. Yes, it was annoying to have people working in our apartment, but it was well worth it once I got the electric bill and it was lower. I can't say enough good things about this apartment and the owners. We read some so-so reviews before we moved, but all of them proved to be outdated and the opposite of our experience. We highly recomment Whitewood Pond Apartments.
