This is my girlfriend and I's first time living together, and we are working on a big move across the country to Austin. The apartment hunt is never the most fun process, but the Whitley agents (in particular Caroline and Holly) were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. New Management totally ignores resident calls and emails and hides in her office like residents are beneath her. They will not allow any dry cleaning delivery/pick up service except tide which is awful. My apartment has a lingering weird smell despite candles, purifiers and diffusers. Also was not cleaned prior to moving in. Maintenance does the bare minimum and work is sloppy with splattered paint, cracking grout, old beat up appliances, rusty tubs and sink. Apartment is also weirdly dusty; I have to dust multiple times a day. Also management hates dogs.

If you love constant construction noise next door and being assaulted by your neighbors, then look no further than the Whitley. Oh and did I mention the elevators are always down. Fun!

Hello, it's upsetting to hear. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. The City of Austin is constantly growing and I don't think there are any plans to stop. We are thankful that Whitley is built to condo specs and the noise outside becomes fainter once you close your balcony glass doors. Additionally, we are fortunate to have (4) functioning elevators and when one is down due to preventative maintenance or is hit by one of our luggage carts that our community used frequently, we do our best to get it back on track as soon as possible. The (3) other functioning elevators always come in handy when this occurs. In regards to the alleged assault. This is terrible news. We don't have any police report being reported. At the end of the day, I still love The Whitley. It exceeded my expectations for high rise living in Austin from the day I moved in (and I did a lot of research and tours). I hope it stays that way, as time is fleeting and change happens fast.

Front desk concierge service, with the exception of Alex is incompetent. Likely very poorly trained. Lose packages. Forget to let guests upstairs. Really atrocious.

Whitley has amazing layouts and very well thought through use of space inside of the apartment. I love the feel of my new place. I had a bit unpleasant experience with moving in but after addressing the manager of leasing it was all sorted out. She is very professional and personable. Overall, I am happy with my new place and would recommend Whitley to others.

I lived at the Whitley for about a year, and my first six months was nothing but pleasant. However, the quality of the Whitley Apartments service overall went drastically downhill in 2019. There were fire alarms at odd times, once at 4 am in the morning, and one of the elevators was always out of order for some reason. Since they fired most of their staff early this year, the communication in and outside the leasing office has been ineffective and rather costly. The day I moved out, May the 15th, I had already emptied the apartment with only a few pieces of furniture left, which I scheduled to be picked up that very day. There was some trouble with the pick up, however, and I was flying out of the state the very next day and was not going to return. Since I could not be there to supervise the pick up of my remaining furniture I had to reschedule, I asked a leasing office staff what I should do, and was told that if I left the keys, he would supervise the pick up, and all I had to do was send an email to reserve the elevator and let him know when the pieces of furniture would be picked up. When I emailed the Whitley about the rescheduled pick-up, I was instead told they went ahead and disposed of all my remaining furniture. The leasing office staff I talked to turned out to be "only a temp" who happened to make a lofty promise. Had I been told that the apartment would discard my belongings and charge me 300$ for it without letting me know, I would have asked a friend to arrange and supervise the furniture pick-up and then return the keys. When I emailed to express my dismay, they only reiterated that it’s part of their protocol and refused to respond to my further emails. I understand the apartment staff are going through many transitional issues, but be responsible for your own staff. If you can’t, don’t leave only your temps in the office feeding your residents misinformation. And please do get your transitional issues resolved already, the excessive change in staff is obviously something the apartment’s not equipped to handle well at all. Extra 300$ is far from fortune, but the complete denial of your responsibility and refusal to communicate with your former resident is nothing but utterly unprofessional. If anyone’s planning on signing your lease here, please expect to be treated very differently when you’re about to move out. This is my first time ever to write a negative review online, so the Whitley did excel in something in that regard.
