Vibrant and historic Downtown Syracuse is much more than the city's hub. The cobblestone streets, wide sidewalks, and stately brick buildings create a fantastic shopping and dining district, while the neighborhood's proximity to Syracuse University adds a student dynamic. At the heart of Downtown Syracuse, Armory Square -- a large collection of historic warehouses and the armory that's now a museum -- is the city's nightlife hotspot. The Armory contains a large concentration of restaurants and bars as well as several unique shops.
Some of Downtown Syracuse's most beloved landmarks include the Clinton Square Ice Rink, the Museum of Science and Technology, and the historic Landmark Theatre. The ornate theater, decorated in rich red and gold, first opened in 1928. Another landmark, the McCarthy Building, was built in 1894 and is the oldest building in Syracuse.

Property Ratings at Whitney Lofts
Living in this apartment has been an extremely frustrating experience due to numerous issues that management has failed to address. The **walls and ceilings are extremely thin**, making it impossible to have any peace and quiet. It is easy to hear neighbors engaging in normal activities such as talking, walking, or watching television, which becomes a constant source of disturbance. The **elevator is consistently dirty** and does not appear to be cleaned regularly, creating an unsanitary and unpleasant environment for residents. Additionally, there is a **persistent sewage odor** throughout the building, which is both disgusting and unacceptable. During the winter months, **snow is not cleared**, making it hazardous to walk outside and increasing the risk of accidents. The **trash is rarely collected on time**, leading to overflowing garbage areas that contribute to the already poor living conditions. Furthermore, **package theft is a frequent issue**, and management has taken no action to improve security or prevent these incidents. Overall, this apartment complex is poorly maintained, unsanitary, and lacks basic services that residents should expect. **I strongly advise against moving here.**
