Property Ratings at Willamette Landing
I lived at Willamette Landing for 2 years while I was obtaining my master's degree. I recently moved out and already miss the complex. The management (Lisa) is amazing, she is very responsive and very friendly. The view is perfect, there is ample storage, and I used the clubhouse frequently (mostly to play pool and workout). Overall, an amazing complex and management team that I will miss. The only caveat is that the building is on the older side so the summer does get very hot, and I would say the location is not very walkable. Although, those factors do not change my love for complex as long as you have two window/sliding door AC units and a car.
Lived here for a year and everything was great! Lisa and garry make sure the apartment complex is always clean and beautifully maintained. They both address maintenance requests quickly and do not hesitate to help. The river views and landing area were great to have. Would highly recommend these apartments thanks to Lisa and garry!
We moved from California to Oregon and found this Gem hidden right by the river which in my opinion was a steal. The price is reasonable and the views are AMAZING wether it’s morning or sunset. It was super peaceful and loved that everyone was super nice and dog friendly. The manager is so lovely and also the staff they were always fast to help out and replace anything that had to be replaced or fixed. The community is gated and feels safe.
I moved into this apartment with the impression that it was a nice and quiet complex. Unfortunately, I didn't trust the few negative reviews that I found or I never would have moved here. If you read anywhere that the train is an absolute nuisance, this is spot on. I've lived adjacent to trains before, but never have I lived somewhere where unless you are heavily medicated/dead, you will, without a doubt be woken up each and every night by a train. The rail passes between an industrial building with cross-traffic, so whether its 3am or 3pm the train will be slowly passing by while honking its horn the entire time. Now if you live in a riverfront unit this may not be as bad, but don't overlook the issue. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on in adjacent apartments. To make matters worse there is no quiet time here, the only thing they have in their big book of rules is that if the noise can be heard from outside the unit it is considered too loud. Overall, this place was my worst apartment experience. I hope this review saves you from wasting as much time looking for somewhere else to live as it did me, not to mention the fact that I can count the number of full nights sleep I got while there on two hands! Keep looking for an apartment elsewhere.
We love living at Willamette Landing! The apartments are spacious and the finishes are not "top end" but still very nice. The community is kept clean and the grounds lovely. Staff is accommodating and the events are always fun and community oriented. Yes it is behind an industrial area (but it's gated and has evening patrols) and yes you will hear the train and they don't come with A.C. but we got used to both of those very quickly. The best part by far is the absolute gorgeous river view and the amazing sunsets you get to experience and in the fall? The colors changing is absolutely breathtaking! We love calling Willamette Landing home.
Willamette landing is the perfect place to live! It provides comfort and peace of mind and the management is top notch they are very approachable and friendly and the grounds is very clean! Plus you don't really hear the train go by! Willamette Landing is the perfect place to live, so if you're looking for a place to settle down chose Willamette Landing!
These are very nice apartments located on the river and they bill themselves as luxury apartments. They are roomy and the grounds are very well maintained. The management on site is professional and quick to respond. The one major drawback is the lack of air conditioning in the apartments. When I lived there residents could purchase a window air conditioner and put it in the bedroom windows but I now understand that is no longer permitted so a tenant must purchase a portable air conditioner for which to survive the warm months (my friends who still reside there say these are not as efficient as the window one and to somewhat cool the entire apartment you really need to purchase two of them). The apartments with the river views have very nice, very tall windows facing due west providing great views but which also means the sun sets directly in to them and is also reflecting off the water. We moved because the heat inside the living room and kitchen area and the guest room was unbearably hot (over 90 degrees inside). In addition the sun beating directly on the apartments makes the deck non-usable during most of the afternoon and evening hours in the hotter months. The washer/dryer hook ups are a nice feature and are hidden behind doors in the bathroom. Honestly, we probably would not have left if the heat inside had not been a problem. Although, since we moved their rents have risen significantly - one of the most expensive in Salem - and for us the lack of air conditioning at the rate they are currently charging would have been a deal breaker. I think for this rental rate they need to up their game and put in air conditioning and some more updated finishes - the ones they currently have don't meet the luxury criteria in my book - i.e., kitchen and bathroom counters are not granite or stone, flooring is laminate or linoleum or carpet, appliances are not stainless and are not higher end brands. For almost $1700 a month (when we lived there they were much less) I would not move there now. Guess we should be happy we got out before the big rent increases. (by the way, we had a rent increase every single time we were due to sign a new lease so don't expect these rents to stay where they are, or try to negotiate a long-term lease).
So first off, it's right next to the train tracks. Do you like hearing a train horn go off at 3 and 7 am every day? Not to mention it goes by three more times during the day. It doesn't just go off a few times, it goes and goes all down the road. For some reason you can't find the manager at her office some of the time. You are also located right next to a shipping area. Where semi trucks are around all the time. Anyone who moves in usually leaves within a month or two. The recreation room is a joke, you might as well not even bother. Oh and my pet got fleas from the previous person that was here. You can find a better place for cheaper.
