Apartments for Rent in Mcdonough, GA

Finding apartments for rent in McDonough, Georgia should be relatively easy. After all, McDonough -- which is located in Henry County, the tenth fastest growing county in the nation -- has a wealth of interesting attractions, fabulous dining options and a quality of life many find extremely appealing. To experience McDonough is to appreciate it. Two of McDonough's most sought after neighborhoods include Lake Dow and Heron Bay.

McDonough, Georgia is an affluent area about half an hour south of downtown Atlanta. Eagle's Landing -- an extremely popular golf and country club located just minutes away from McDonough -- attracts several golf enthusiasts to the area.

Two of McDonough's top neighborhoods include the Lake Dow area -- located just off of Highway 81 and with very convenient access to Interstate 75. The area features great schools, great dining, serene woodlands, and beautiful lakes and natural streams. The Heron Bay neighborhood is also pristine, located near great schools, convenient to premium shopping and dining establishments and, interestingly enough, there is a huge lake neatly tucked away in the Heron Bay area. As such, these areas offer a laid-back and quiet atmosphere; however, for those who enjoy nightlife or a fast-paced environment every now and then, Atlanta is a quick drive up Interstate 75.

You can find some very luxurious -- yet surprisingly affordable -- apartments for rent near some of McDonough's top cultural attractions. McDonough's Roman-styled courthouse building was constructed in 1897 by J. W. Golucke & Stewart Architects. McDonough's courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In keeping with the historic theme, Scarlett's Retreat Day Spa is located inside McDonough's oldest home (which is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places). Scarlett's is genuinely an "experience" and has been referred to as Atlanta's Most Elegant Day Spa.

Also in McDonough is the Veterans Military Museum and Historical Village, located off Lake Dow Road. Featured in the area is a log cabin erected by English settlers in 1827, an original two room school house, a 1934 steam engine locomotive and, interestingly, Henry County's very first library building.

For family fun that's located just a stone's throw from a number of McDonough apartments for rent, there is Woody's Jump and Play (a family entertainment center filled with games, slides, inflatables and jumbo flat screen televisions), Fun Bowl and Fun Town (an indoor/outdoor family entertainment center offering laser tag, bowling, miniature golf, go karts, rock wall climbing and more) and the Great Escape Regal 16 Movie Theater.

NASCAR fans in McDonough can easily be part of all the high speed action happening at the nearby Atlanta Motor Speedway. Situated on nearly 900 acres in Hampton, Georgia, the Atlanta Motor Speedway is but a mere fifteen minute drive from McDonough.
