Property Ratings at Willow Creek Apartments
I have lived here 3 yrs the new manager is on top of everything and very pleasant to talk too the office staff is great the maintenence people are good
They don’t care about your needs and they only care about your money !!! I have a hole in my bathroom ceiling right now as we speak !!! I’ve been trying to get them to fix it for months now !!!
Lived here for 6 years, only because of the cheap rent. Multiple maintenance issues, mostly due to pure and utter laziness on their part. They lie if you try to find another apartment/building to live in stating they are on a waiting list and can’t assist you. The back door at my complex was broken for pretty much the duration of my stay despite multiple reports, nothing was ever done. Lastly, they said I owed after moving out, I paid it and they still tried to send it to collections. They are terrible in every sense of the word and living with a friend or family member if able is a much better option than this place.
very problematic place, no service. pool is close ever.
I have lived at WIllow Creek for 2 years now, and it has been a horrible experience. First off, in 2020 kids set one of the buildings on fire, and on July 4, 2020 there was a murder-suicide. Other than that, the management is horrible. Starting August 27, 2021 I had electrical issues causing my lights and outlets to go on and off. This issue took 5 phone calls for anybody to come out, and it still hasn't been properly fixed. The neighbors are obnoxiously loud, car windows get busted out and the roads are unkept and full of potholes. The pool hasn't been opened since I moved in in early 2020, but I've heard from other residents that it hasn't been open in years. On top of all of this, they recently raised the rent $150 not including $25 dollar pet rent. Dont waste your time here, this is the worst place you could possibly choose to live in Westland.
This place is horrible they’ll trick you into believing this apartment is great. The pool is never open even before Covid-19 it was never opened. The stuff are some liars and they never call back to help. The apartments are all our dated and not up to code and there isn’t any dishwashers in the apartment. There’s only one washer and dryer in each unit so all occupants has to share. The windows were poor were installed so when it rains the water comes through. The crime here is beyond horrible and scary someone has broken into my car and the office did absolutely nothing about it. Also on 7/4/20 someone was murdered in the parking lot and the shooter went into the building and killed himself. Some kids set one of the units on fire.
This place is awful. there are so many problems and management didnt care about it. The worst of all was the yellow "water" dripping into the bathroom. the ac not working at all and them not doing anything to fix it for a month. They didnt even want to fix the problem when the washer broke and then flooded the entire first floor. save yourself the headach and run
Property managers change almost quarterly. Maintenance slow as can be. Nothing is done about water issues. Currently my wall is molding because they don’t want to send someone out to repair it
Williow creek has a great staff and there townhouses are very nice.
They have a wonderful staff and very quiet place and friendly neighbors
willow creek Apartments Very Helpful staff very nice units.
I came to the Willow Creek Apartments looking for a 2 bedroom home asap. I looked at a few other places in the area and no one had anything open which was a bummer. So, when I came here I just knew that they were going to tell me the same thing. But, to my surprise not only did they have something available, they were running specials also which was like icing on the cake. The lady that showed me around was beyond pleasant and made me feel very welcomed and very ecstatic to have me as a potential resident. I found this place on a drive by and it was my last stop and it turned out to be like Vanessa Willams said " saving the best for last" lol. I highly recommend anyone that is looking for something in the Westland Area to please check this place out. Im sure that you can find exactly what you need and within a nice price range.
I needed a place last minute and the staff at Willow Creek were very helpful when I needed assistance at the last minute. They were super kind and hopefully I'll be able to move in soon!
Thinking about moving here the office staff is nice and very welcoming!
I’ve lived here in willow creek for 5 years it wasn’t so bad the first year. Soon they changed management is where it all went down hill. They didn’t fix our AC for 2 summers. They would try to dodge you about fixing it and bring in maintenance that didn’t know what they were doing. I’ve even had one of the maintenance guys hit on me. Our bathroom tile looks disgusting, our bath was peeling and they took forever to fix that too. It was just unsanitary & nobody should have to live in living conditions like that. I’ve found a syringe on my apartment porch..it isnt worth it I promise. Our lease is finally broken and we’re finally about to move out I’m traumatized from this experience.
On site maintenance a joke. Our heat went out and someone came out and came pushed on the thermostat and said I don't know what it is. We had to get a space heater for 2 days. Dishwasher overflows told them 3 weeks ago and its still water on the kitchen floor. Don't move in this place. Please look at the reviews
This place is trash , office workers are no help, Apartment flooded 3x and took 2 weeks each time to fix, maintenance never comes when you put in a work order, the pool never opens, park is unsafe for children, do not live here it is unsafe and they do not care about their tenants. 0 for review
I moved in October 2016 and left January 2018. Maintenance will NEVER come and fix anything office will argue with you or tell you to fix it yourself.. buildings caught ON FIRE last year and nothing had been fixed and people still had to pay rent. They don’t send you any type of letter indicating ANYTHING.. people had no heat, no water, no A/C FOR MONTHS! I broke my lease they sound dumb if they thought that I was staying till October! In the summer the pool won’t open up water inside is green don’t do it
This place is awful. They never fix anything, the office will lie to you about your lease when you sign it, then send you bills for things they told you were included. I have been trying to resolve my issue with every single individual that works there for over 6 months, nobody gives me answers, even when I went in in person and showed all of my paperwork. The office staff has turned over 3 times in 2 years, and gone through 3 managers in the last 9 months. The only reason they made improvements (they replaced the windows) was because the city refused to let them tear down the burned down building until they did- that should tell you how this place runs. Conveniently when those window repairs started, so did these notices about balances due that were never there before started showing up. There is a pool but it never opened once this summer and yet they sell it to you as an amenity and as a common area we have a right for it to be maintained. Truthfully we should all get a rental credit for it as an amenity we were unable to use due to their negligence. Heat went out in the winter, took days for them to respond. Same thing with when our hot water tank went. 5 days without hot water. The sign is new because the old one was vandalized by current tenants spray painting the word SLUM on it. I wish I never moved in here.
Property Manager at Willow Creek Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, I'm sorry that you are having a less than pleasant living experience here at Willow Creek. I can assure you that if you come into the office with your concerns, we can definitely help you resolve them. We are representing a new office staff and we are trying our hardest to make sure all of our tenants have a great living experience. Please contact us here in the office so we can further assist you. Thanks, Willow Creek
Currently a resident here and ready to move. Maintenance here is horrible and will not fix or REPLACE anything unless you take them to court. Kathy the property manager doesn't care at all about the buildings and is just in it to maximize the profit for Harvest Properties. Buildings have extreme structural and electrical issues and aren't up to code. Save your time and money and find a different place to live.
You will be very unsatisfied with the treatment you will receive once you have become a resident. They will show you a nice model apartment but the unit you will receive will look nothing like it. You will never have a completed service request no matter what the issue is. On the hottest days emergency maintenance will not come to even look at your air conditioning let alone fix it. If you like moving maybe this is the place for you. You will count down the days until your lease expires.
Horribley staffed. The apartments are in horrible condition and every thing is constantly breaking. And no one that works here cares or wants to help in the slightest .
The office tryed to charge us month to month price for months after we renewed our lease for the third year. And dont feel bad or sorry and are saying we might have to back pay it even though i have prove we signed it and they signed it. The apartments are poor quality. Always have ants in the bathroom closet doors fall. Cabinets are falling apart windows have no seal cold air blows strong through them. Hallways and laundry room are always dirty. The carpet wasn't new when moved in. Water leaks in through vents every time it snows. Mold grows on window seals and bath tub that I try to clean with bleach but it won't all go away. But our problem. And they never do anything about it. Youre lucky if you can get a maintance person to come to your apartment. And when they do they don't help much. Haven't done anything about the leak. Took them a year to come replace garbage disposal. The pool is rarely open. The play ground if you can call it that is laughable and dangerous. Charge way to much for the quality and service. Not renewing agian.
Went all summer without AC bc they wouldn't fix it. Raised our rent without telling us because we were late on rent once. We were late partly due to one of the buildings being ON FIRE. Manager thinks she's always right and refuses to listen. This place is AWFUL!!!
I live here the apts are huge and at a great price. There is a new manager and she always has a smile when you go into the office. The leasing staff is very friendly and they really care. Great place to live for the price.
I like my place. It’s spacious and they cover most of the utilities. But they NEVER fix anything. My air conditioning was out all summer and when they finally came at the end of summer to fix it, they didn’t fix it. I don’t think maintenance knows what they are doing half the time. When i initially moved here they said they were replacing all of the windows in the complex, but never did. Most of the buildings look ran down and old. The ladies in the office are nice but will tell you someone will be out to fix whatever maintenance issue you have, and they never come... you literally have to bug them to death and it’s a 50/50 chance someone will show up and even less odds that they will effectively fix anything. That’s terrible and sad..whoever owns this place needs to get it together and make this place look nicer. Someone recently spray painted the word “slum” over the entry way sign and they just took the sign down and never replaced it. Then there was a fire here in the summer and now the burned up buildings just sit with no signs of them fixing it any time soon. It makes it look 10 times worse, especially since it’s near the entry way. Instead of planting flowers and building/ renovating a new leasing office they need to invest in the property windows and overall enhancing the appearance of the buildings in the complex. Their priorities are backwards.
This place is absolutely disgusting. After moving in I noticed that the walls were never repainted before I moved in. There were patches on the walls where it looked liked they tried to cover-up imperfections instead of putting fresh paint on the walls. The cabinets are old and disgusting. The windows have some type of residue on them and they look really foggy. The creases between the tiles on the bathroom floor were very dirty and looked like they had never been cleaned before. The carpet in the building's hallway had tons of dirt and black stains all over it. My air conditioning did not work. The pool was always closed. Management sucks. There was always people spray painting the buildings with graffiti, making the property look very tacky. There are a bunch of huge potholes towards the middle and back of the property. This place is just a total nightmare. I've never had such a bad experience with renting before. And to top it off, some guy told me that he seen bed bugs on the washing machine. I don't know if this was true or not but because of that I never used the laundry room. I am so blessed that I was able to get out of my lease within a few weeks of living there. One of the buildings burnt down during my time there and a lady died. There are no fire extinguishers in the apartments. They have gas stoves and don't even have gas detectors in the apartments. I wouldn't even recommend this place to a homeless person. The only good thing I can say about this place is that they had big closets. Don't be fooled by the photos online or their demo apartment
This complex was by far the worst place that I had lived. It's way over priced and maintenance is done by installing broken "repaired" parts. My upstairs bathroom leaked through the light in the entry hall, a problem the couldn't manage to fix. It was dirty when we moved in. Snow removal was a joke and even after multiple people slipped and fell on the untreated ice nothing was done. Smoke detectors were never checked in over 2 years, I changed my own batteries . Save your money and rent at another complex!
I lived in these apartments for a year - if I could've afforded the $500 penalty to break the lease I would've left earlier. Maintenance is a nightmare - takes numerous requests in writing, by phone and in person followed by putting my rent in escrow to fix the following: electrical issue, broken fridge (the first one), furnace issue. Not small issues but big effort to get them to do their jobs. The replacement fridge worked fine for several months and then didn't. They were notified and after the 3rd call actually came by, looked at it, said "Yep, it needs to be replaced" and then never saw them again. They wouldn't answer any of my correspondence...this was my last month, they had my rent in hand so I had no leverage. I lost $40 in food and had no working fridge for the last 20 days in the unit. A month later and I am still waiting for my security deposit.
This place is a waste of money. Everything is broken or dirty. There is no maintenance or professionalism.
They have bed bugs currently and maintenance is a joke. My friends door has been broken for months still not fixed.
I moved here in 2011. The place was great! Then the apartments came under new management and it became horrendous.. Our Air has a tendency of always going out right before Summer starts ans begins getting hot outside. Last year (May 2016), our air and heat went out together. Maintenance came to fix the heat about a month later and did nothing about the air. When I mentioned it to him, he took a look at it and said that it was at 86 degrees and was blowing out warm aor instead. So he had to go to the Supervisor to see if she wanted him to replace it or fix it. Never seen him again. We eventually got it repaired in November. AFTER THE SUMMER WAS OVER!. Also, in May (2016), our lights in the bathroom had stopped working. Something wrong with the wiring. Complained about it several times and nothing was being done. Our housing is through Wayne Metro. They came in November 2016 for an inspection and seeing if we had anything broken in the apartment that needed fixing. We told them everything so Wayne Metro went to the office to force them to fix everything or they were taking us out of these apartments. They came within the week. Thats when they fixed our air and our Bathroom light. He came back in December just to make sure things were done. Its June right now and our air is broken AGAIN! Put in a work order a couple of days ago, dont know when theyre coming to fix it because the office said they go in like a chronological order. Whoever had the complaints first get done first and so on. It sucks because theres kids (1 & 3) in my apartment and they have to go through sweating every night and waking up with heat bumps. Our kitchen sink handle keeps coming off, our bedroom doors have been unhinged and broken for more than 3 years. They barely have the pool open. They still dont have it open now but 2 days ago, the staff was in the pool hanging around. Rent keeps going up every year. Just please take my advice and dont think about moving here. Youll regret it. Oh! Also, we had a parking spot when we moved in, which was free, but then new management came and syarted charging for it but we had no idea that they changed it.. Found out that we havent had a parking spot since 2012. And there's so much more I still havent discussed yet. Take my advice please and look somewhere else.
I have never had such a horrible experience. I am in the last month of my 1 year lease, and the end of the month can't come soon enough. All of the the office staff is terrible, except for Alonnah. Their attitudes are horrible and they're very unprofessional. The maintenance staff is also terrible and they just ignore maintenance requests. My apartment building has been without hot water for almost 3 weeks now, and the manager is not concerned at all with fixing it. They keep saying it'll be fixed by a certain time, and then that time comes, but they just make up another lie. When I try to talk to the manager about the issue, she has the staff make up a lie as to why she's unavailable. If you have to call the emergency maintenance line, the worker that is paged will just choose not to come. I've had issues with this place since the day I moved in. There's not enough characters for me to list them all in this post. Bottom line: RUN!!!
I have been here for about 6 months and I have not been satisfied since signing my lease. I moved here in November and my heat went out the day I moved in. They initially said that we just needed a piece replaced and it would be in the following Monday. The following Monday turned into two weeks. I had already paid all my move in funds and could not stay in the apartment for the first 2 weeks. (There was no compensation for that) We also were missing blinds in both bathrooms. We were not able to use the bathrooms for 3 weeks. I turned in my move in checklist with all the things that needed to be addressed and I never heard anything back on that. They have patches where they were fixing dry wall in one of the bedrooms and they just left it there. Huge un-sanded patches on the walls and doors! The closets are all falling off the tracks. In January, my dishwasher stopped draining and the pipe in my basement (which I told them about when I moved in) under the sink fell off for the 2nd time. I put in a maintenance request at that time and it is now April and they still have not fixed either of these issues. I have been to the office multiple times and called more times than I can remember and still no results. I have never lived in a place that was so poorly maintained. The staff is nice every time that I talk to them, but they just give you the run around. At this point I am completely fed up!! My advice to anyone looking to move here, keep going. It's not worth the headache.
The inclusive utilities are amazing but the overall care for the property is quite poor. The response to maintenance issues is slow and most times there is no response. They say renovations are being made but they have only renovated the leasing office. There is only one washer and dryer in each building for all tenants to use and they malfunction often. At the end of the day you have to decide if you can tolerate these things in order to have inclusive utilities.
We were looking for a place after arriving from out of state, willow Creek was just about the only complex that wasn't in some bad area that was willing to work with the fact that we both started new jobs on arrival and therefore couldn't provide extended work history in the area. The neighbors are your average Apartments neighbors. One knocks around at odd hours of the night. Another smokes pot but eventually gets the boot. But all in all the company has kept on top of most of the riff raff. They also recently hired signal 88 security, I work for a competing agency and still applaud their decision to add that extra level of comfort regardless. Maintenance can be a bit of a pain to get a hold of, but the office gets on top of it if it falls too far behind. On that note though, we really haven't had any real serious maintenance needs. All in all, the price is reasonable and the free heat in the winter is a financial life saver. We intend to upgrade to a townhome at the end of our lease here within the complex. It's not the best of areas, but it's a step forward towards something better. I would recommend this place if your trying to afford something and keep your family safe. On one final note, I would ask that a larger focus be placed on parking enforcement and lot cleanliness. Improper parking leads to dumpsters being blocked and not unloaded, or placed in the middle of the street almost. Also broken glass can sit for days in the lot. But the dumpsters are usually only overflowing for a day or two.
WILLOW CREEK APTS IS THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED. THE PROPERTY IS NOT CLEAN OR UP KEPT AT ALL...THE POOL WATER WAS BLACK THIS SUMMER. THERE IS OFTEN GARBAGE OVERFLOWING OUT OF YHE FUMPSTERS AND ON THE SIDES. AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AFTER YOU MOVE IN. YOU CAN FILE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AND WORK ORDERS AND NOTHING EVER GETS FIXED..THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR $$. I HAVEAN INFANT DAUGHTER AND HAVENT HAD A WORKING REFRIGERATOR FOR THE 3 MONTHS I HAVE LIVED HERE EVEN THO 2 DIFFERENT MAINRTENANCE GUYS SAID THEY WERE ORDERING IT.
Willow Creek feels like home. The complex is clean, maintenance is fast to respond and the neighbors are friendly.
This has been the most disappointing experience EVER!!!! For some who pays rent on time. Only moved here for the amenities listed.. which do not exsit....the pool has been open 10 days if that this year..and now today August 29th its said to be closed for the season." (What season, it's still summer)Ha" it's been a long summer of 90degree plus temps and no pool. Repairs take for ever and are never repaired correctly. Door bells and speakers and buzzers in my building has never worked I can go on and on ..... This place sucks!!!
This was a great place to live about 5 years ago! Easy assess to the Freeways and Highways, right around the corner from great Shopping and Eating and Entertainment and Parks! The apartments are spacious and was well kept, and management were concern if U had issues with neighbors!! Not anymore since Harvest Investments took over the property!! The on site manager of Willow Creek Apartments can care less to hear your complaints, and when U tell her, she adds fuel to the fire by insulting. I've gone without a AIR CONDITION for the second year and this year I was promised a new one! The same Maintenance man came out again from last year to just look at it again and said " I know a little more about air conditioning now and yours need FREON so I'll come back tomorrow and put it in for U, and he never came back!
This apartment complex is money hungry. They only care about the money. They also claim their big on bugs but we had flying ants for weeks and NOBODY came to spray even though we were told someone was coming out . I wish I never moved into this apartment. Once my lease is up I'm moving.
I've been here a little over a year and I hate it. The hallway smells horrible and is always dirty. So is the laundry room!! The front door hasn't been able to lock for months and I don't feel safe. The closet doors have fallen on me multiple times. We keep getting ants and flying ants dropping out of the vents in the bathroom. We also have mold in the tub and we were told to clean it with bleach. The apartment upstairs floods and comes down and messes up our floor. There are other apartments cheaper and nicer!! Don't move here PLEASE
Affordable one bedroom apartments. Rear parking. close to Dollar General, Krogers, family dollar and much more. Quiet neighborhoods with friendly people. Parks available for kid access
It's a nice family environment, the staff are professional and friendly. Whenever there is any problems, emergency maintenance is quickly there. Large walk ins and closest space for those clothes and shoes obsessed. Located between two major freeways, lots of schools, tons of restaurants nearby, and a family park that hosts plenty of events nearby. I love it, you'll love it!
This apartment complex is very nice but, a little too expensive. I lived here for a year and 10 months and my lease is due in November. I'm not staying again because there's a few things i don't like. Maintenance is not 100% reliable and a few cosmetics inside the apartment that never got fixed. It had an ant issue the first 4 months i moved in and i repoted it. They had someone come and spray and that didn't fix the issue. Its quiet but im over it.
As newlyweds, my husband & I were searching for something inexpensive but a place to call home. We found it here at Willow Creek! We have a spacious 2 bdrm apartment everything included but electric. We have been here 3 years now and decided to stay & start our family!
As newlyweds, my husband and I were looking for our first place. We wanted something inexpensive, but a place we'd be proud to call home. We found it in our spacious 2 bedroom apartment here at Willow Creek. We've resided here for 3 years and love it so much that we started our family in our lovely "home". Giant walk in closets, central air, marble tiled kitchen and a dining room to fit our 6 seat table! Our building is quiet, the pool is attractive, and we just love it here!
I have lived at Willow Creek for some time. The staff in the office is great. Ebony and Nicole are always on top of things and the most helpful. The property manager however is never available to talk when I need her. I have had talks with other residents and they say that they are never able to get into contact with Ty either. She has Nicole and Ebony take care of all her interactions with the people who make sure she gets a paycheck every week. The girls are great at their job but shouldnt have to take on their manager job because she doesnt want to do it. If you plan on moving here, you wont talk to the property manager. The property itself is nice. Maintenance is nice and do what they need to do in a short amount of time. My apartment is big and its nice that i only pay for my lights. Overall I recommend this complex. You get your moneys worth.
my first visit with willow creek was really nice. the staff was so super friendly and polite. i would have never thought to come here until i saw a ad on craigslist. i came in and i was talking to nicole. she is the funniest and nicest leasing person i met so far while im looking. she really knew what she was talking about and answered every question i had. she took me to look at a apartment. it was really pretty. i really wanted to apply for it but i dont make enough money. if i ever make enough i will come back to apply for willow creek apartments.
the worst apartments I have ever live in, maintenance never respond on time. Cant wait to move, hallway carpet have not been shampoo sense I have been here I have live here 5 years. I don't like moving, and the school for my kids are in walking distance. That is why I stayed as long as I did. My building is very ghetto looking
