HOA Steals Money from Residents

I set up direct deposit with the HOA to pay my association fees. One day the HOA took an extra $500 out of my bank account. They never gave me any notice. When I asked about it, they told me it was a fee for paste waste in the hallway. I do not own a pet and have never had a pet visit. I have asked the HOA multiple times to return my money, because I do not own a pet. At first I thought it was a clerical error, but after months of requesting the money be returned the HOA refuses and told me my case was closed. Warning for anyone looking to move here, the HOA is untrustworthy and has used direct deposit to steal money from tenants.
