Medicine Lake is settled in northern Minnesota and offers the feeling of living in a holiday getaway, and yet this town is just minutes from Downtown Minneapolis. Residents enjoy the benefits of small-town living and a natural outdoor setting while taking advantage of the thriving big-city environment that surrounds them. The motto “Where water meets sky” is a literal description of Medicine Lake’s location on a peninsula jutting into a lake of the same name and aptly conveys the population’s appreciation for the great outdoors. The town may be small, but the close-knit community likes it that way. Many residents head to the Downtown Plymouth nearby for diverse dining and entertainment. Medicine Lake appeals to folks looking for a peaceful, safe neighborhood. Outdoor lovers will appreciate the enveloping wildlife, and outgoing individuals will enjoy the friendly, interactive locals.

Fair warning if you’re thinking of applying to this property, DON’T. Working with the people in this rental office and Bigos management specifically has been the most stressful experience I have ever gone through. They obviously are new to this field and it shows. Even after speaking with the manager Sarah I am so happy that I have decided to live elsewhere. I completely understand the need to check for rental references, hence how I got into my current residence and all my previous ones. But when you have a pandemic currently going on and in my case have out of state references it’s seems a bit much to contact a company 5 TIMES in just one day and then say hey well we are going to charge you an extra $1400 on top of everything else because we can’t wait for your company to contact us back. My current management company is on limited in office hours, I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THAT. I was told that an apartment couldn’t be held indefinitely, which I was not asking for and I understand. I’m certainly not looking for a handout which is how Sarah made me feel on the phone. But only giving 24-48 hours for someone to contact you back and then consistently emailing/calling the prospective tenant basically pestering them to do your job for you is beyond me. I have NEVER had to provide additional contact information for any references or any info besides what the application asks for. RED FLAGS Everywhere! Not to mention even when I went to the actual unit I put the key in the lock and the entire lock came out of the door and there were multiple other issues as well. I am so glad I don’t have to deal with any of that. I certainly feel sorry for your current tenants. You will not be getting anymore money from me.
I've lived here for 6yrs and my rent goes up constantly yet new tenants rent is lower. the office workers don't communicate with each other at all! !! I turned in a lease renewal 4x's before they got it right. . Due to the massive rent increases I've been forced to move uprooting my children from the community that they have grown accustomed to.
My fiancee and I lived in this apartment for 2 years and after the first 6 months it turned into a constant struggle. Between noisy elderly neighbors who listen to the TV at max volume that you can hear down the hall, rude upstairs neighbors who would bang on the floor and drag furniture at all hours of the night (then complain to the office when you listen to music at 7 PM which is not curfew) and the fact that we did not have a working dish washer for our entire tenure there. Personal reasons aside, the place is a mess. On average the water in the north building had to be shut down for "emergency repairs" approximately once a month. At time of move out, I counted 13 during our past lease, one outage of which spanned 4 days. They do not replace their crumbling building infrastructure and merely patch it for another spot to break shortly later. The communal laundry rooms are constantly out of service. Even if the machines run (particularly the dryers), it will take two or more runs in order to get your clothing dry, which can cost you about 7 dollars for a single load. Good luck getting anything fixed in the apartment itself. We tried 5 times to get our dishwasher fixed by the on site maintenance and every time we were told that we were using it wrong, that is until they realized that part of it was actually broken and decided to makeshift fix it, to which nothing was actually fixed and is likely still broken to this day. The office is incredibly disorganized. None of the office managers talk to one another. Twice we reported a problem with the facilities to one person (in this case the fact that EVERY light in the otherwise pitch dark parking lot were turned off for 3 months in the dead of winter) only to be told later that the message had not been relayed. If you have a package sent to the office from a parcel service, make sure you follow your tracking because you wont recieve any notice from either the office or the parcel services, then will be told that if your package was there for more than a week it was sent back. To make matters worse, they constantly are raising prices on current tennent rent, claiming that they are adjusting your rates to meet "market values", despite the fact that their rates offered to new tennents on their website has not changed since we moved in.
My husband and myself having been living here at the Willow Creek apartments for 7 years now. We moved here with the ideal that we would be here temporarily while looking to purchase a home. Well we have decided to stay here, making Willow Creek our home. First of wall it is in a lovely area, with all the amenities you would need. Indoor, and outdoor pool, exercise room, volley ball court, tennis court and play ground area. Willow creek is animal, and kid friendly. Also there are picnic areas with barbeque grills, and a lovely pond area that host geese and ducklings. The building here is very quiet, with solid walls. Parking here is great, with underground parking available, as well as outdoor parking lots. Not only that, but the area, is great, with close proximity to main highways, and close access to shopping areas, like Ridgdale, Targets, Cubs, Wholefoods, and many others. It is even walking distance to a movie theater. And of course there are many restaurants very close by as well. The people here are very friendly, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. When there is any maintenance required, the are swift to attend to what every needs to be done. Needless to say we are very happy here, and will continue to make Willow Creek our home!
Exceptional apartment, safe friendly living ten minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Right in the heart of Golden Valley, Minnetonka, Plymouth, Hopkins, close to everything, including lake Calhoun. Maintenance is on top of everything. If something goes wrong they fix it quickly and with a great attitude, good underground parking. Good amenities, tennis court, outdoor and indoor pool, large fitness center with televisions, all kept up well. Cost efficient considering the area. Some minor things could improve, consistent water temperature and fire alarm malfunctions.
great location however it has its drawbacks, in one year of living here there where 3 actual fires, dogs barking all the time loud people running in hallways overpriced chorine taste in water
