Lafayette is located in southern Louisiana. It has the rich culture you would expect from a Louisiana town. Also, because it is a college town, it is very much concerned with education. People of all ages, cultures, and personality types will find that Lafayette is a pleasant place to live.
Lafayette has many beautiful neighborhoods. Different people like different areas of the city for their own reasons. However, the south side of the city is typically the most sought after. The area surrounding the University of Louisiana – Lafayette is known as the university area. This area, as well as Lafayette’s Downtown District, is more urban in nature than other parts of Lafayette. It is possible to walk to the school, local restaurants, shops, and art galleries. Broadmore is mostly residential and home to people of many different ages. This is also where the Thomas Park Recreation Center is located. Broussard, Youngsville, and Scott are small cities on the outskirts of Lafayette.

Property Ratings at Willow Gardens Apartments
Nice townhomes. Very comfortable. Friendly environment. Horrible pest control and management. Doesnt care if roaches crawl in your babys bottles. Wont call you if plans change. Doesnt show any concern. Only gives generic responses about serious situations.
Overall this is a great place to stay. Despite being alongside one of the busiest streets in town, it still is a great place to live.
This community is geared up for adults. No playground for kids and no fenced pet area.
Willow Garden is a awesome and quiet place to live and I Recommend it to people that need to find work close to home -BP
Easy move in process. Outdated kitchen, horrible paint jobs. you can get WAY nicer apartment for the same price.
We lived here for 3 years and it was the worst experience of our lives. They don't provide any security and there are always people walking through. Office personnel was switched 5 times in the 3 years we were there and the maintenance men also had 3 to 4 personnel changes. Not a good place for kids as there is no where for them to play and the environment wasn't safe. We felt trapped in a never ending lease. Glad to be moved out and moving on. This is only our experience but please take into account we weren't the only ones who had issues.
Apartments are very expensive and not worth the price nothing like the model apartment they show! Everybody here is trying to move out. You better hope you don't get into a financial situation they don't work with you at all it's $75 late fee plus $10 a day plus $100 Eviction fee if your late after the 1st. DThey say water and sewage is include but it's not u pay for it they add it to you rent. They say wifi free wifi don't work at all. Nothing for kids here!!! Don't recommend moving here. Horrible service! Girls in the front office don't know anything! It's just horrible
I currently rent a townhouse and the upstairs is always sweat dripping HOT. The repair men just give me the run around about how it would be too much work to fix. When my lease is up I will be moving. Rent is cheap so I guess that should have been a clue.
I have been a tenant at Willow Gardens for 6 years. I am in my 3rd unit as a tenant. I had a 2 bedroom with a roommate, a 1 bedroom alone and now I am in a 2 bedroom with my husband. The grounds are always kept up nice and clean and it is relatively quite. Road noise from Johnston Street but I got use to that in a month. I only have 2 complaints. Getting in touch with someone at the office can be hard at times but that has gotten better in the last month or so. My worst complaint is the issues with the age of the building and having things repaired. In my one bedroom unit it took them over a year to replace the AC unit that kept having issues. It would freeze up on a regular basis (once a week) but once they replaced it then everything in that unit was fine. In my current unit that I moved into in January we have had 6 leaks in 6 months. 4 of them having to do with the issues with the 2 units upstairs AC units. Maintenance does come out each time and fix the current problem but as a whole it keeps happening.
