Property Ratings at Willow Ridge Apartments
I would move anywhere but here. It started off really well for me but things have just gotten worse and worse. By far the communication with the office staff. They have never been rude but I have had to follow up multiple times or else I just don't hear from them at all. Worse than that I have been dealing with trash issues here for months. It is messy, stinky, unsanitary, and embarrassing. For the amount we pay in rent here, this should not be something we are dealing with. I hadn't gone to the gym until recently either and it is clear that this company is not concerned about investing in their property. Every piece of equipment is damaged in some way and absolutely filthy. I wish there would have been a review like this when I was looking because I wouldn't even have considered moving me and my little girl here.
Just moved here, no complaints so far. Nice apartment with washer/dryer inside, private entry, and close to campus. What more could you ask for?

I have lived here for three years now, and have really enjoyed it. I have seen the change in management happen, and really liked the outcomes. We got newly renovated units with upgraded kitchens, appliances, flooring and carpeting, and also seen benefits of more accommodating office staff, cleaner garbage areas with dedicated fences, and nicer landscaping and winter grounds maintenance. This is a great place to have pets and be with others who enjoy walking their dogs and playing outdoors. They are also very close to many areas of both Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, with quick routes to major highways. I would recommend this place for anyone in the area looking for a home for the next few years!

The office staff is lovely and the apartments are cute and clean. The grounds are well kept and very close to trail access points. They are prompt with fixing things and give adequate notice for mandatory maintenance. I’m a happy tenant!

Thank you for your 5 star review! We are always happy to see our residents enjoying their new homes!
When I first started renting here dealing with the office staff, Sharice, was awful. She was rude, unprofessional and not looking to help the customer. We were told certain things about living here and then the lease came and everything was different that what she had told us. Since dealing with the new management my only complaint is the snow/ice removal is not that great and the trash is ALWAYS over flowing. There is not enough dumpster for the amount of people that live here or the dumpster needs to be emptied more often. The apartment is cheaply updated, but I expected that. The walls are thin and poorly insulated as it was very cold this past winter. The furnace and water heater are in the same closet as your pantry so 1) it's very loud when your heat turns on and 2) it gets your food all warm unless you leave the closet door open. The furnace is kicking on way too often because of the poorly insulated walls.

I would never recommend anyone to live at willow ridge. I spoke with a lady on the phone about having to suddenly move from where I was living, unfortunately I didn't write down her name. She reassured me that there was an apartment available September 14th and that if I filled out the application and paid the holding fee they would hold it for me. I did as she said and yet when I called repeatedly for the next for days I was told that that apartment was being held for someone else and my application hadn't been approved, yet they couldn't tell me why. Then finally after a week of calling they gave me a reason. I emailed over the information needed and waited. Days went by and finally they said the information wasn't in the email. I sent it again. At this point it was past my move out day at my other apartment so I had to find a different place to live that moved with a little more urgency than the joke of a staff at this place. I called to ask for my $150 holding fee back seeing as how they never were able to save me an apartment. The lady told me that it was legally theirs because my application was never denied and that was the only way to get it back. She was rude and completely unprofessional. I cannot believe that they support stealing money like this from a struggling college student.

We are sorry to see this review. I urge you to contact the Regional Manager to discuss a solution. Thank you!
Whatever you do avoid this apartment complex. The apartments themselves are nice and newly renovated but they are poorly managed. I applied for a 7 month lease in May to begin in August. I was notified 3 days prior to my move in that they only do 12 month leases and that had changed over the summer. When I contacted the office they refused to admit what they did and "didn't have access to my application". I was never notified in the change of leasing terms and since I am a college student I couldn't afford nor did I want to lease for 12 months. After that I had to cancel apartment and they did not issue a refund for my security deposit even though they miscommunicated. Also, I was told at my time of applying that my rate would lock in once I applied. Of course when I received my lease agreement it was $40 higher and when I called the office they said "I'm not sure why our office told you that but it was incorrect information". To further make things worse they had the wrong move in date for me because the date they set up for me to move in their office was closed... then when I tried to push my move in date back they wanted to charge me daily for pushing my date back. Poor communication, poor customer service and they don't stick to their word. Don't trust this place.
Property Manager at Willow Ridge Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for addressing your concerns. We do not charge the security deposit until the day you move in. Please contact the Regional Manager so we can figure out what happened so we can come up with a solution. Thank you
Living here was the most hellish 9 months of my entire life. Even after moving out, I'm still dealing with these scam artists. While I was a tenant, they never responded to any of my maintenance requests. They lost two of my rent checks when dropped into their dropbox (make sure you hand directly it to someone, get their name, and have them make a copy/keep a copy for your records). The pool stayed dirty and the volleyball court never had a net up to actually use it. This is all tolerable in relation to the massive amount of nonsense I'm dealing with now that I've moved out. They are charging my roommates and I over $3,500 in fees that are entirely incorrect. I even called their parent company, Concord Management, and even they exclaimed how the charges weren't making sense or adding up, so now I'm in the process of contesting them with a lawyer. They charged us an early termination fee and a reletting fee, even though we stayed for the entire duration of our lease, which we have black and white documentation and proof of that was signed by them when we put in our notice that we would not be renewing. They're also trying to get us on a bunch of other bogus charges. If you decide to live here, make sure you document everything because they are out to get you.
I lived here for three years. Lovely place, never had an issue or problem, until my lease was up. Corporate will try and hit you with fees so make sure you get receipts for your last two rent payments. Secondly, when you write your initials on the lease in the section about the number of keys (house/mailbox) you are receiving. Write the total down next to your initials. This will prevent the office from changing the number in the lease when they digitize it and robbing you out of $75. Had I not run into these deceptive issues at closing, I would have rated the place five stars. The apartments are spacious and the grounds are maintained really well. Just beware of Corporate and the Careless Property Managers.
Excellent , Hands Down. Or should I say Apartments Up! Lol. A Quiet Apartment Complex, filled with flowers and lots of bightness even when the sun is down. The apartment staff are very respectful and understanding, always willing to provide the needed supplies and maintenance , when needed.
I have mostly great things to say about this apartment complex located in Ypsilanti, MI. It's (mostly) pet friendly and kid friendly. There are breed and size restrictions for dogs, which I've never agreed with so I hope they change that someday- but they are usually pretty lenient. I feel very safe here, even though the address is technically in Ypsi, a less safe city located right next to wonderful Ann Arbor. You are literally right on the edge of Ann Arbor, and very close to grocery stores, department stores, craft and dollar stores. It's very close to the highway so getting places is very easy. There is a playground for kids that is very popular, a volleyball court that is hardly used, a decent pool and gym, and a pretty lame "basketball area". The apartment themselves are very spacious and open. They are built fairly well, although everything seems a little bit crooked. I guess I'd say it gives it a silly charm. It's definitely not a luxury apartment, but you get what you pay for in this area, and the prices here compared to other areas in Ann Arbor are stellar. Washer and dryer and dishwasher in unit is amazing. The staff is mostly nice, I've only had a couple experiences where I felt they could have done better. The only other thing I'd have to say I don't like is people often have to come into the apartments for maintenance and inspections. It can get kind of annoying because it feels like people invade your space a little too often. If you're considering this apartment, I'd say go for it! I've had a really good experience here and hopefully you will too!
