Property Ratings at Willow Run of Crest Hill
I lived there two years and constantly see them working on the property outside. They've upgraded sidewalks, parking lot, and added lights around the walking path. Anytime a resident leaves, I see them completely gut the apartments with the older appliances, so it seems like they are using it as opportunities for remodeling when they can. I had no issues with paying rent by checks or adding my pet to my lease. Overall, the property was fairly quiet. The pool area was nice and not crowded in the summer. The only downside I feel is that their office is only open 12-4pm. If I did need to stop by for any reason, I was adjusting my schedule at work to do so, but I rarely if ever had any issue when that occurred. Like majority of places, annual rent increases will happen, but it was never too concerning for the two years I was there. Overall, it was a great place to have on my own and wait for the next chapter of my life.
I left after a year while having no problems until they deducted 150$ for cleaning charges even though I left it clean with picture evidence but was told, you signed a contract so theres nothing we will do'. The place was spotless but just because I signed, they say they can get away with overcharging me for cleaning even though my 15 pictures show a clean apartment.
Just not worth your money. Bad location, extremely rude management and just loud neighbors everywhere.
Took them 6 months to care about a cockroach problem. First two times we complained they told us, without visiting, to clean our apartment. Twice we threw out everything in our pantry and bleached out silverware and nothing happened. We were one of the last on our floor to stay - management was largely hands off and even this there was mold on all of the window sills the price point and location was good - but we finally left when they started renting out the empty apartments without telling them about the roaches. (The newly wed couple that moved in across the hall were sure in for a rough surprise.) Everything is buckled and times - and that's clear from the opening contact you sign - but they will try to charge you for things that aren't on the list. When out dishwasher broke we were willing to pay for the repair -as started in the contract- but they tried to charge us for the replacement - not on the contract- even though it was over 15 years old. It's hard to find anything in this price point, do I understand why people move here, but if you can afford something more then go there.
Horrible tatics and practices. Think there better then others . needs major updates inside ... bad expierence .. stay away
I lived there for for years and it was one of the best renting experiences I have had. The only reason I moved was I got custody of my kids and needed a larger place, or I would still be there. The management team was very responsive to any issues.
Awful! In every sense. We had mold on multiple occurrences from the upstairs apartment they just painted over it or placed dry wall over. They did not give us back our security deposit. Because after hiring a professional who said himself they were old carpets they used a black light and saw stuff.?? rude loud people work there. How sad we really wanted to like this place how shady and disappointing they should feel disgusted with themselves. Also they never fixed anything. The apartment was disgusting when we moved in honestly we left it in better condition. They still refused to give us their deposit. They do illegal shady stuff like using my security deposit for putting new carpets in all of their units....illegal. You can not take someone's deposit to pay for renovations you were already going to do in all of your units. They also already have some serious complaints filed against them. They have health hazards safety hazards all over. It was just sad. I did take pictures and have pictures of other apartments newly renovated with the new carpet they are putting in all of the units. Also they refuse to send an itemized list of were my deposit is going. So illegal and shady STAY AWAY !! Just trying to help others save time in probably having to sue them.
I have lived at Willow Run for the past two years, and have nothing negative to say about the place. The staff has been friendly and responsive. The pool is nice, and rarely very crowded, even on the hottest Summer days. The new security fence they installed on the backside (along Cedarwood Dr.) is a little inconvenient for those of us who live on that side, but provides almost a "back yard" kind of feel to the back of our apartment. The pond and adjoining grassy area feels like a small park, and each Summer we get a new family of geese that migrate in. Elizabeth in the office is awesome, and will work with you on just about anything. Willow Run is a great place to stay, and it's hard to beat the price.
just make sure to check the water supply before showering or using the sink water for Chlorine/Chloromine. It's cancerous.
Willow Run apartments are cheap by Chicago standards. Nestled among a largely residential peninsula of Crest Hill in basically, Joliet, Willow Run apartments offer basic, fairly modern amenities, for the young professional or working family. Our first floor, bedroom & den with 2 pets, water & gas runs just over $850 per month, or about $1/sqft. Tiled bathrooms & kitchen provide a nice update over mostly linoleum floors found elsewhere. Quality fake-wood living rooms provide a chic update over the mundane carpet or aging hardwood found throughout Chicago. Do repairs take a while to get fixed? Yep! But, nothing has broken in our apartment yet, just a water pipe in the hallway. Downsides of cheap? Perhaps you could argue distance from city or paper rent checks only. Or perhaps you might have a beef that your neighbors smoke or the dryers sometimes give out or only 1 wall A/C in a 2bdrm apartment. All I know is that this small apartment complex boasts greens for your dog to run, a pond, friendly staff, minimum wage threshold to apply, incredibly safe neighborhood , frequent police drive-thrus, sturdy construction and rent for less than 20% of comparable areas. When all is said and done, isn't it the money that matters? $1/sqft, nothing beats that. Come visit Willow Run Apartments.
