Development on the Sandalwood neighborhood began in the spring of 1960. Designed to provide inhabitants with the ideal balance of work and play, Sandalwood sits approximately half way between Jacksonville city center and its nearest beach, which lies roughly six miles east of the neighborhood.
Developer Pearce-Uible's primary Sandalwood concept contained 500 houses. To give the neighborhood an exotic ambiance, Sandalwood's original streets were all named after Pacific Islands. Mindanao Drive, Hawaii Drive East, and Kusai Drive are three of those original roadways. Two more streets, Majuro Drive and Luana Drive, were added to the neighborhood in 1969.
Nearly half the houses in the modern Sandalwood neighborhood are quite new. The original 1960s properties reside in the northern half of the area, whereas newer houses extend to the southern part of the neighborhood. Several educational establishments call the area home, including Sandalwood High School, established in 1971.

Property Ratings at Willow Trail
Really bad. Between the overflowing garbage. My car being broken into. Leasing office hung up on me when I called to ask why pest control still hasn't shown up. They are incompetent. Not worth the wages or time. Renter beware. Infested with roaches. Dog poop everywhere. Overflow dumpster. Disrespectful leasing office. We have a security gate that ipens freely to anyone. Tons of stray cats. Small parking spots with no lines. Plumbing under sink smells horrible. I've never had worse allergies until I moved here. Water is to hard leaves white stuff everywhere. 400$ increase because we're considered luxury.. what luxury because I'm still looking for it..

My trucks been broken into twice in the last 6 months. They fired the security guard. Waste is horrible. Landfill in the parking lot most days. Understaffed. Don't pick up the phone. Always diff info depending who u talk to. If you get a hold of anyone. Place has a sep fee on my water bill for parking lot lights. What's wrong with you people
Very welcoming, helpful team. They are definitely the best employees in this field.
I’d like to start off by saying I appreciate the staff here they’ve been helpful in everything i need. Office staff made sure i was comfortable even after i moved in when i come in to pay my rent they ask and make sure everything is going ok, if there was anything i needed. Maintenance requests are done within the same day if possible In the case that something needs ordered and they need to come back sometimes i have to call to remind them.I appreciate their reaction time though. The community itself has a mixture of quietness through out the day and laughing of children playing. The structure was made in a way of getting to know those who live around you with its openness of the grounds, its secluded as far as one way in and one way out of the community so if your out wether your walking the grounds or going to the pool your sure to see someone you know and thats one of my favorite parts. The apartment space itself is grand for the price you pay i can see my self living here for a long period of time just for that reason it has a great amount of storage and the rooms are huge I’ve never lived an a apartment that has as much space as i have now. My point is this is a great place to live the price, staff, and location is perfect.
We have lived her for 10 years! Nice Apartments, very spacious and great office staff. Maintenance is great, anytime I have a need they do the repair the same day. Very nice place to call Home.
The staff here is amazing. Service requests are done really fast, a lot faster than other places I've lived.
Quiet place to live, I've been here for 6 years, Maintenance is quick to repair anything and the girls in the office are just amazing and very helpful. I recommend this place to anyone. Two thumbs up.!!!
I've lived here for a year now I love the area is very quiet theres a security guard after office staff has gone home and until office re opens. Two bedroom apartments only but very spacious. The staff members are very on task when it comes to fixing things around the apartment. Very humble and very strong on residences being happy to live here. I would recommend 100%
