Salem is home to the historic Willamette University, with its beautiful campus located right downtown next to the state capitol. The university regularly hosts concerts by the Oregon Symphony, art shows, theater productions, and other popular cultural events. The majestic capitol building, flanked by daffodils and cherry blossoms, overlooks Downtown and creates a stunning centerpiece for the city.
Salem is an excellent place for folks who love the outdoors, offering endless opportunities for hiking, biking, camping, and kayaking both in the city (Bush’s Pasture Park, Riverfront Park) and nearby (Silver Falls State Park). The city is also positioned right in the heart of Oregon’s wine country, and the Salem Wine Trail is a popular circuit of local vineyards that locals love as much as visitors. Salem hosts a full roster of major events and celebrations throughout the year, with the biggest being the Oregon State Fair, which draws thousands of people from around the state every August.

Although they’ve changed company/landlords staff has been very nice and professional. I love how modern and new my apartment looks and feels as well as my spacious porch area and being able to walk to the restaurant/bar or market across the street, super convenient!

Living at this apartment complex was a nightmare. The location is terrible—crime-ridden and unsafe, with strange individuals frequently hanging around. Disturbing noises at night became a common occurrence, and the atmosphere was often tense with many violent, loud, and aggressive residents. The property itself is poorly maintained. Trash overflows from the single receptacle into the parking lot, and the common areas are filthy, with strange substances, stains, and even human fluids on walkways and stairs. Dog poop and urine are everywhere, including the sidewalks, and loud, aggressive dogs roam the premises. There's also a severe lack of parking spaces, forcing residents to park on the street, which is far from ideal in such a dangerous area. The apartments are outrageously overpriced, especially considering the poor quality of the units and the bad neighborhood. The rent is jacked up by several hundred dollars each year to the highest possible price, making it extremely unaffordable. Worst of all, the property managers are extremely rude, unconcerned, unhelpful, and only interested in money. They do absolutely nothing to resolve the many issues plaguing this place. Avoid this complex at all costs!
