Property Ratings at Wilshire Towers Apartments
The corners of the walls are crumbling, the bathrooms are OLD and grout is beyond filthy, the pipes back up into your kitchen sink (like literally peoples dirty sink water regurgitating in your sink), the laundry rooms have inches of muck in the corners and there are at least 4 broken machines at all times. The elevators are constantly down and take forever. Garbage comes before 7am and they’re LOUD. Property management doesn’t help in any way. Won’t change appliance even if they’re making loud noises. They will take your packages though, even if you put your own building address. Parking lots are always icy in the winter and they do the bare minimum when it comes to snow. Do yourself a favor and rent literally anywhere else.
The elevator is always broken. The hallways have a stench. There is not even a clear cut piece of carpet in the hallway- there are patches with different colors. When the elevator was working- it would shake when it reaches your floor. I had to call the village in order for them to start working on it. The locks don’t work on the front door of the building. There is mold on the walls, ceilings and the walls itself has been painted over a million times to hide this! Management is cheap. It is overpriced for what you are getting. There are ants in the building and the actual dept is pretty dirty when moved in. It’s an older building so, keep that in mind when they show you the renovated show room.
I lived at Wilshire from 2014 until 2019 when I purchased our house. Our two bedroom was a great size. Office staff is really nice and maintenance is usually there within two days.
This Place is Trashhhhn!!! Our sink would back up eveey other month the leasing office did nothing it flooded the place one time. The nasty stitch of sewer smell was disgusting overall experience was bery very bad would not reccomend esp if you have children
I moved here September 2017 and I can only say great things about the apartment I’m living in. Everything was clean and in great working condition. One of the leasing staff members went in the apartment and personally inspected every area. They also provided a sheet that I had to sign confirming inspection and letting them know if noticed anything that needed repair that they may have missed before giving me any key. Staff has been very professional so far. My ice maker machine recently broke down. I called the office and a repair order was made. Someone came to fix it within 1-2 days. New parts too! Also, during the holiday season they had an apartment decorating contest which I thought was cool. If you won, you would get $30 off your monthly rent for that month. It’s something! There are also a lot of activities and events in the Bloomingdale Park District and there’s always something fun to do at the Bloomingdale Library. So far my wife and I are very happy here and look forward to staying many more years. If you’re signing a new lease and read this review please feel free to write my name down as a referral. CARLOS ESPINOZA. Thank you.
These people are unbelievable. It wouldn't even be possible to tell you everything we went through, but suffice it to say that they should be shut down. They knowingly violate health code violations, are extremely rude, and take every opportunity to take the easy/cheap way out or take advantage of their tenants. When we left, they were "redoing" the parking lots. Turns out, they were literally PAINTING THE LOTS WITH BLACK PAINT so that it looked like new blacktop. Don't worry, the potholes are still there though. If that's not a descriptive enough metaphor for how they run things, I don't know what is. At one point, we were forced to evacuate our apartment for more than a week because of health issues on the apartment's side, and they still wanted us to pay them a full month's rent. Constantly had people screaming and honking outside the apartments. One morning, we literally had two guys shooting dice next to stacks of cash right outside our door, in the middle of the hallway. The pool was ALWAYS closed. They would require a life guard to be on duty for you to use it, and then never hire a life guard. We came by in our bathing suits when it was supposed to be open, and the receptionist came running after us with an attitude and said, "EXCUSE me, is there something I can do for you?!", as if we were trying to sneak in. We said we were just going to the pool, and she told us we weren't allowed to, and that they're going to close it the next day anyway and keep it closed for the winter. It was Summer still. This is all exactly why they made a showroom in the "clubhouse". So that they can make a really pretty room and make sure you never see what the real place looks like. Pretty smart on their part, honestly.
NICE, QUIET AND CLEAN. SPACIOUS LEAVING ROOM AND BEDROOM. NICE NEIGHBORHOOD AND NICE LOCATION.
Wilshire Towers is a low rise complex surrounded by lush landscaping of grass, trees and walking trail around a park. When entering my apartment, I am greeted with a foyer with light wood laminate floors wrapping around into the hallway and kitchen. My apartment has a light airy feeling with high ceilings and large windows and what I love most is the fantastic view. I am on the 4th floor and can look out to the trees and park with a little playground with slides and swings from every window in my apartment. My kitchen has a breakfast area that opens up to a large balcony facing the beautiful park. The bedroom is over sized with room for a desk and bookshelves or a reading area by the window. It also has a large walk-in closet. The complex also has a tennis court, pool and exercise room and 2 elevators in every building. We are conveniently located to expressways and near shopping malls, restaurants, parks and golf courses. We are only 15 minutes away from Wood field Mall, one of the largest malls in the United States.
When requesting maintenance work and requested to for no one to enter the premise without the tenant... they enter anyway without any permission. Took 4 days to hear back about any maintenance scheduling. Wash and dryers are terrible not well maintained by management. There are always 3 to 4 dryers "out of service" a week. Roads and parking lots just get a reseal and pot holes weren't filled until May. Poorly insulated apartments. Drafts are very present when it's cold outside especially during the negative weather. Heat is maintained by management due to gas being included as part of rent.
Surprised the walls are still standing up! This place poured all the money into a clubhouse where the housing-assisted loiter around all day when they're not busy drinking 40's in the staircases at night. Meanwhile my sink and bathtubs overflow with effluent from the people above me.
I will know more when I hopefully move in, in a few months!
