Maintenance in your apartment without notice, My car was broken into twice. I'm really upset they won't give me my refund for my deposit the first check was lost and they refuse to send another one, it's not that hard to cancel the first one and send another. She had the nerve to ask for my account info.
We left this apartment in better shape than when we received it. There was nothing told to us about anything left undone! We speckled holes and painted all of them with paint they sold us! The dryer wasn’t working but it was clean! My daughter woke up to maintenance in her apartment when she didn’t request them more than once she also saw them on her camera in her apartment going down the hallway towards her bedroom when they were there for her kitchen light! Creepy! She had a fire living here too and they want to act like it didn’t happen. The place is going downhill not kept up and in sad shape! Find somewhere else you won’t be happy here.

It's unfortunate that pictures can not be attached to show proof of how the apartment was left. Paint was not purchased from us for the ceiling that had over 40 holes spackled, chunky and not sanded or painted over. Windemere is very kept and a wonderful community and exceptional maintenance staff. :)
My daughter lived here & after a few months her air conditioner caught on fire thank god she was awake it was like 10-11 pm if she would of been in bed she and others could of been killed! Luckily maintenance was there (odd) given the time. He cut wires and removed some things the next day he scabbed it back together and there ya go no inspection no nothing the unit looked old and dangerous before the fire so after it was worse. And the two females in the office couldn’t of cared less in fact it felt like they were bothered by it. She had health issues arise soon after. Had to ask for new filters for the thing too. Her front door needed new batteries in the lock she couldn’t get into her apartment for 5/10 min refused to fix. Her kitchen. Faucet flooded her kitchen. And in her bathroom. Light above the table continuously shorted out refused to fix. She had to buy a can of paint they sold her to patch holes and we did entire apartment even holes she didn’t do and they took half her deposit because of “paint job” we patched holes with plaster and sanded and painted and we got the paint from them they sold her & it didn’t match the color on the walls!! Your kidding me right? Also they said the dryer was dirty I cleaned it myself and she lived there for months and the vent was unhooked from the dryer, it quit the day before she moved the heating element quit so I guess they charged her for it. The kitchen cabinets are coming unattached from the walls like the entire apartment has not been updated or repaired except for the renters moving out. It got to where the maintenance men were creepy to her ogling her in the parking lot she could barely understand them not clear English and sometimes they’d show up unannounced in her apartment (she could see them on her camera ) if you want a safe place where your not at risk of apartment fire due to negligence of property managers & live safely and not have creepy men staring at you please look somewhere else and one more thing they have no overhead lighting so they are very dark we brought lights in to do the painting when you really get a look at the place it’s bad!!! Pay a little more you’ll be glad you did stay away from windemire. They don’t care anything about you if they didn’t after the fire and everything she went thru they wouldn’t of took half her deposit. They apparently had to replace a lightbulb we forgot to replace and they charged $9.00 for it. Find somewhere else you’ll be glad you did!

In response to this it is understandable that one my be upset at not receiving a full deposit back and feel the need to write a review like this. However, we have pictures of how the apartment was left and it was not in good condition and even provide move out instructions on what charges could be if left undone. Our maintenance team is the best and very respectful of everyone on property and never have had one complaint with any of them for 20 years. Unfortunately, maintenance issues will occur as with any property on earth and the office staff does care and respond to any issues that very day and has it resolved. :)
I've been here a few years and it's so loud here now. My neighbor is pounding on the wall as I write this. I'm miserable here. Her front door and wall pounding shake my apartment constantly. New management April and Shelley are not helpful. Their response was "you're expected to hear people come and go at all times." The walls are super thin, floors too. You can hear people talking through the floors. I'm going to lose my pet deposit(they automatically keep half) because management refuses to deal with a difficult tenant.
The apartments and townhomes are standard for the most part but the quality of service is excellent from the ladies in the office to maintenance the staff is top notch. Quiet community that is safe and located along Tallgrass golf course with nice landscaping. Lots of friendly professionals live here. Highly recommend for a great rental experience!!
Complex is loud. Car doors slamming. Dogs barking. It is not somewhere to live if you're a light sleeper. Near a pool? Prepare to hear Marco Polo being screamed for 2 hours. Near a parking lot? Apartment shaking from trunks closing, Fed ex honking, music playing. Loud music at 2 am when the clubs close. Not recommended.

We have not received any complaints in the office regarding this. Please contact the office if you are a resident as this does not describe our community at all. This is a very quiet community and if you have experienced anything other than that we would love to address the issue with you that you are claiming. Anyone is welcome to drive through our community day or night and we can assure you will find a quiet community.
My fiance and I have lived in 3 complexes in Wichita and this is by far our favorite. The location is awesome, as it's tucked away so it's quiet and with a pretty surrounding area with the Tallgrass golf course there. And since it's off Rock Road, everything you'd need is very close by. Maintenance is super quick to respond and there have never been follow-up issues; they actually fix everything! Depending on the unit, you may have some older appliances, but the maintenance guys are so on top of it that you're never inconvenienced for long. Various reviews have complained about management (like every complex), but we both have had great experiences with Kimberly and the rest of the staff. When we initially moved in, there was a faint smoking smell, and an area of the carpet had a dog urine smell too. We did our best to clean on our own, but when we told Kimberly she had the carpets entirely cleaned and the walls re-painted in less than a week's time! We don't have pets, but the complex appears quite dog-friendly. They have more restrictions and policies than other complexes, but they also provide doggie bags all over the complex, and have a nice looking dog park in the middle. It's mainly young professionals, seniors, come college students, and a small handful of families. Everyone's nice and polite, have never had a noise issue outside of any kind! Only reason we have to leave is because I got a new job out of state, but otherwise this would've been the last apartment we'd have ever stayed in.
The living is fine, nothing special beside it being a quiet place. But when moving out they will charge and tack on everything as much as they can so you do not get the deposit back and still owe them. If you have to leave early, like I did due to losing your job, do not expect them to help out. If anything be ready for charge, after charge, after charge. The place was in kind of in bad condition when I got there, everything is a little dated, cracking, cabinets and counters are separating and scratch/mark EASILY, washers and dryers have a weird smell, and their were stains all over my carpet that they did not change before I got their. PROS: Quiet area to live, the other tenants are decently quiet, and there is a couple of places around to shop. Cons: Move out process, getting deposit back, do not expect them to help you if you are in a financial situation, and the property manager is very condescending and overall rude.
I love these apartments! The trees, pond, golf course, swimming pools, dog park and fitness center are amazing! My apartment for the price and size is perfect. I have lived in apartments for many years and this is by far the best ever! When I moved in it was super clean almost felt brand new! The office staff and maintenance have been exceptional. From the moment I stepped into their office to inquire they made me feel like I was at home already! I will live here for a very long time and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for the best apartment living available in Wichita! Thanks Windemere! :)
DO NOT RENT HERE!!! These apartments are very outdated, over priced, maintenance does not show up or fix things like they say and the office staff is very very rude! The walls are paper thin causing lots of noise inside the apartment and very high electric bills. They charge outrageous fees for everything and overall do not care about the people living here and paying their crazy rent prices. Please save yourself the time, money and headache by NOT renting here!!!

These folks are straight up, CHINTZY! They will charge you for everything, all the while never fixing anything. If they come to your apartment it's an automatic fee without it even being your fault. Worst experience ever! Upon leaving I was charged for Tub Cleaning and Freezer cleaning. How do you charge for that? Seriously WTF! There was nothing wrong with either, in fact they were cleaner than when I moved in! Point being do not expect your deposit back and EXPECT to be charged for every minor thing! BTW super over-priced and outdated!
Keep in mind the positive reviews here are from current residents who have yet to go through the move out process. Know your rights as a renter because the management WILL try to slap you with ILLEGAL and outrageous charges upon move out.
They are nice apartments really the location is what makes them worth the price you pay. When we moved out we ran into problems with the manager. We gave proper notice and turned everything in on time. Weeks later we got a bill for outrageous charges. Luckily I kept out move-in notice so I got most of the charges dropped but still ended up paying for things that weren't damaged.
Windemere at Tallgrass is my first apartment on my own. What I loved most about the complex when I was apartment hunting is its easy access to Rock Rd and K-96, yet it is set back from the road in a very nice neighborhood, surrounded by a private golf-course. In other words, you really don't hear the road and you have guaranteed scenery. With that said, you may have a bit of noise from your neighbors, especially if you're on the parking-lot side as I am. I constantly have head lights coming through my windows at night (you can minimize this with curtains) but you also get the noise of people going to/from their cars, having conversations, etc. I lived on the top floor so this was somewhat reduced, but on those nights you are having trouble sleeping, it can be a nuisance. The available layouts are relatively modern (e.g., passthrough between the kitchen and living room, wood-laminate in kitchen, bath, and some dining spaces) making for easy living. Also, the maintenance team there is super friendly, efficient, and thorough. Any time I put in a maintenance request, it was dealt with within 24-48 hours and the job was complete. The grounds are also well-maintained, although some of the building exteriors are starting to show their age. They also clear the sidewalks and salt your steps in poor weather! (Thanks guys! :)) The management is pretty friendly too, although I found at times the assistant manager came across inconvenienced or rude. WAT also has two pools, small but there was rarely a crowd. My only wish was that they would be open for a longer pool season since it's in the 90s sometimes until October here. The gym wasn't my favorite amenity. I found the equipment options lacking (I went in one time and all three treadmills and two ellipticals were broken). Instead, I opted to join the YMCA which is just around the corner. Finally, I utilized their community garages. For only $35 a month, available on a month-to-month basis, and a short walk to my apartment, I thought it was well worth it the money. Most apartment complexes in the area require you to lease garages by the year and they're $50 /month and you still have to walk to them. Overall, I give Windemere At Tallgrass 4/5 stars. It could use some updates and TLC to make it a solid 5, but the value you are getting makes it truly worth signing that lease. I have personally recommended the place to several people who now call it home, too.
I had never heard of this apartment or seen it before. Its tucked back, excluded from the busy streets of Wichita. Its amazing here. They apartments are all renovated and they do a good job keeping up the landscapes here. The amenities and everything here is wonderful. The prices per unit are not too bad either. Love it here.
This apartment community was very clean and quiet. I love the area and the well kept grounds. It made the apartment an asset to want to live at. I am very impressed.
i want to give kyle kudos for a job well done. i requested some things to be looked at in my apartment. what i always appreciate is when they have completed their work order they always ask if there is anything else.
