West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. Very quiet place to live…comfortable and close to everything. Only negative so far is parking spaces fill up quick. So if you work a normal 8-5 job you may be struggling to get a spot close to your apartment due to a lot of cars that never move from their spots

The dog park is great, lots of space for them to run around and the neighbors are friendly. Renovations in units are nice, unfortunately the community grill by pool has been out of order for some time.

The people in the office aren’t willing to solve problems. The traffic is loud, the parking sucks, most residents don’t respect each other. The complex doesn’t uphold their own lease rules and they put very little effort into preventative maintenance and grounds keeping.
I am grateful to have a wonderful home to stay. The lady's in the office is easy to work with and maintenance is always around. The property is nice and clean.
My family satified to facility of apartment, swimming pool, gym room and auto care. Officer considerate helping, safety parking, friendly neighbor. stores is near.
love the location really like the west wind community most people seem friendly, but my dishwasher is broken and i just moved into the apartment my dryer has stopped working as well and im not even three months into my lease just wish these weren’t problems that i’m facing and i just moved in
I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience with the staff here. Miss Mash and Miss Tashala provided me with the most professional and friendly service one could hope for and went far beyond the expectations anyone could desire. They treated me as if I were family.
The location is ideal since it’s near tons of shops and restaurants. The maintenance is still not up to par. When a maintenance order is put in, it used to be completed that same day for important things like bathroom issues, AC/Heater problems etc, but now it’s a waiting game because there’s one main guy for the whole complex.
Really lovely place. I've been here almost two years and I have very few complaints. The amenities work well and I very rarely need to call maintenance, but when I do, they are kind and quick when it comes to getting it fixed.

When I first moved in…the grounds were very well kept and going through being beautifully landscaped (2020). In the past year, though there have been occasional “mowing and blowing” the grounds are not kept as well. In addition, there used to be a curtesy officer on the grounds. I have had two bikes stolen and live in the back of the complex. It concerns me that people are walking around actively looking for things to steal. That makes me feel uneasy in the security I have wondered why my rent keeps going up but the standards have gone down.
Quick and easy move in process. The apartments are very nice and spacious! There is a dog park that has a lot of space . I enjoy the community of fellow animal lovers !
The office staff is amazing!! Any issues I have is addressed immediately. They value their residents and that's really hard to find these days.

Love the new renovations but somethings could been tested before moved in. The leasing office makes you feel welcome and at home. If you have any concerns they are on top of it.
Such a smooth application and approval process. Our townhome is beautiful and quirky. Cleaners missed a couple things before move in but we were credited on our first months rent for it, and we never asked for that! Friendly neighbors and maintenance helped us move some furniture in. All around nice and quiet community with families and friendly people and staff.
So far so good! Lovely community, very wholesome leasing office, cute apartment and a great price! Approval process was easy and my neighbors even helped me move some of my furniture in!
I really enjoy living here. Maintenance is rarely needed but very fast & easy when required. Amenities are convenient and I've never had any issues with my neighbors.
So far everything has been amazing! The residents are nice, the front desk staff is amazing, and the grounds are well kept and inviting. Haven't had a chance to use the pool or gym yet, but looking forward to it!

It was a decent place to live but there is always loud noises or people fixing up apartments all throughout the day and night. Whenever there’s maintenance problem, it takes months to resolve.

The construction is constant! They demoed a unit across the hall from me on a Sunday, all day after I worked all day Saturday. I just needed some rest and I couldn't. The trash left behind by the contractors is constant. The siding is in pieces on all the buildings and I'm truly worried about hurricane season The pool grill has been out of LP since the 1st of July. I have informed the office, it doesn't appear to be a priority since it was still empty last night3 weeks later. The current downstairs unit that I'm in, the power bill was $150 my first month and $125 my second month keeping the thermostat at 75 degrees under a conditioned unit above. The voltage randomly drops below 100v that has put a lot of stress on everything in the unit, including your appliances and lighting as you can hear the stress on the refrigerator and watch the lights flicker throught the unit. When cooking you can hear the electrical panel sizzle in the hall. Its not comforting at all!

Very happy with my stay here. The staff are all super nice & responsive and I never have to wait a long time for maintenance. I've had very few issues in my time here & the few I have had always get resolved quickly and easily.

Wonderful grounds. Staff is very accommodating. Renovations left a couple problems but are otherwise very nice apartments. Location is very nice and surprisingly quiet.

I love my apartment complex. employees are responsive. everything is done on time and well. the only negative is the cost of rent. There is a dog walking area. close to all the necessary shops and dry cleaning.

Safe environment. Great area to rent. You have access to various major roads to commute. Trash area could use some improvement. Ongoing construction on the roofs.

Good, quiet location in the heart of West Ashley. There is quick access to shopping, food and the beach is only 20 minutes away. Some upgrades needed in the townhouses but overall, very comfortable.

The property has new owners and it has gone down hill.The office staff is friendly. Residents are very friendly.Others and I have complained about the lack of maintaince on the propery. Trach cans in the laundry areas have not been emptied in over a month. Cannot even put dryer lint in trash cans so it ends up on the ground. You pay for quarterly pest control. Does not happen unless you ask. The dumpster area is always trashed. The fitness center and the bathrooms are not maintained. The bulding are old. A couple of my neighbors have had issues with electrcity and losing power. One neighbor asked about the issue. No answers were provide even after maintaiance looked at. The person was told we don't what is going on. It took more than a week to resolve the issue. I am looking to move.
I am in a 3 bedroom. It was barely worth the money BEFORE they raised the rent. Countless, shoddy repairs to the drywall and ceiling A/C went out last summer and it took weeks for management to get it fixed. Multiple spots of water damage on our ceiling and even had water dripping from our ceiling on one occasion. Front office staff is terrible and the new owners don't seem to be interested in doing anything except doing some token repairs and jacking rent up %20+.
The apartments are decent for the price. A little on the small side in my case but you get what you pay for. No problems with the community.
The apartments are OLD. Ours had mold in the air ducts, the roof leaked and the energy cost was on average $130.00 per month on a ~550 SqFt apt. At one point in the heat of summer the HVAC broke. It took them a week to fix it - no rent relief, no provision of a portable AC unit, and no apology that it took that long. They did not repair the inside where the water spotted the ceiling when it leaked and not sure if they ever came and fixed it as we were never notified. They sprayed bath cleaner on the AC vents as remediation for the Mold - never looked in the actual ducts themselves. Beware the leasing office ladies. I believe they are trained to try get more rent out of you. No one ever has an answer. We went in in October and December to see what we needed to about a lease end in Feb. They should have given us the specific instructions to email them at 60 days prior to actual move out. They just said, "Ok, got it, you are good." Then they turn around and tell us we didn't notify them and charged us extra rent at the end of the lease - saying "you should have read your lease agreement". Not happy. Do NOT recommend this place!
I've loved living here. The apartments are nothing fancy but really nice for the price. They're in a great central location in West Ashley, close to everything. The staff are all super nice.
They give you a low rate at first and Jack it up over time by finding new things to charge for like a one time pet fee with a monthly per pet fee. The staff sucks they are slow at getting appliances fixed or helping out in a flooding situation. One last time don't move here !!!
Staff seemed nice, but property was not as it appeared on apartments.com.
