The second largest city in Michigan, Grand Rapids rests on the Grand River, about 30 miles east of Lake Michigan. Formerly known as the Furniture City, Grand Rapids is now nicknamed the River City as well as Beer City USA for its riverside locale and proximity to 40 craft breweries. Grand Rapids is also the hometown of former United States President Gerald Ford. Fans of the 38th president can learn more about his life and impact on American history at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
Notable as an artistic haven, Grand Rapids hosts the annual ArtPrize competition, a 19-day affair drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city and featuring artwork all throughout Downtown Grand Rapids. Frederik Meijer Gardens exhibits an expansive variety of sculptures and gardens both indoors and outdoors. Meyer May House is revered as one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpieces.

Property Ratings at Windridge Apartments
-Small electrical fire in my baby’s room. -2 months to replace the stove. -Maintenance accidentally threw away personal items and management refused reimbursement. -After two years of living there they finished the duct work for the basement. -Management is virtually unreachable. RUN!
Really great value. Fantastic staff that is responsive and takes care of any issue or question. Windridge was one of the cheapest options when we were first looking and we liked it enough to extend our lease until we moved cities. The pool was nice in the summer. No assigned parking spots but we always had spots open near our apartment. Quiet area and great location in GR.
Property Manager at Windridge Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, thanks for the kind words! We're always happy to help so don't hesitate to contact us if you ever need anything. We look forward to providing you with more great experiences in the near future and hope you have a great day!
I lived in the two bedroom town-home for 18 months, and it was a horrible experience. The townhouse was extremely run down and outdated, and in terrible condition when I moved in. It was absolutely filthy on move in day, and I had to shampoo all the carpets myself. There was cat litter all over the apartment, and it took me months to finally get the last of it out of the carpet. The screen door in my living room was installed inside out, (yes believe it or not, screen was on the inside)and never properly sealed with a huge gap that made my heating bill outrageous. I was told I would be first on the list to have it replaced, and even after several inquiries, it never was fixed the entire time. At one point the screen door was completely unusable, and after a work order was placed, and then 4 phone calls made to inquiry about getting it fixed, I finally bought the stuff to fix it myself. I was called 4 weeks later asking if the problem had been resolved and to rate the service provided. What a joke. The floor in the living room was literally sinking, and by the time I left, one point in the floor felt like it was going to cave through. Geese overrun the entire complex, and you cannot step anywhere without stepping in poop. My basement flooded every time it rained. And they wanted to raise rates on me after I had been here, for the absolute dump this place was. I found a much nicer updated place down the road for less money per month, and better amenities. I do not recommend this place, and they will not let you see a unit before signing your lease which is awful in my opinion.
The location on the lake is really nice and units are well kept, but the management ruins this place. We were forced to leave (giving up a non-refundable pet deposit) after the management refused to evict our smoking neighbors - even though the lease has an entire non-smoking addendum page. They don't follow their own policies listed in their lease and make special cases for rule-breaking residents. Throughout our battle with our neighbors, the management was unprofessional, rude, and incompetent - we are still dealing with getting our security deposit back even though it was promised. I would never recommend this property, unless there's a change in the manager.
Beautiful lake in back quiet but needs renovation outside walls need insulation and basement windows needs replacing other wise rent is priced right and staff is great location close to malls and highways 5 minutes from downtown and currently upgrading when vacancies allows
The staff here is great. Very accommodating, friendly. and approachable. The apartment complex is located about 5 minutes (or less) from everything on 28th Street: grocery stores, gas stations, post office, restaurants, movie theaters, bowling alleys--the list goes on. Have not had any issue with noise from other tenants, though the walls are not completely sound-proof. We looked at a lot of other apartments in the area before settling here; it is one of the best regarding value for your money. Be sure to inquire about "deluxe" (renovated) units with new kitchen appliances, central air, and garbage disposal. If you go with a non-renovated unit, the rent will be even more affordable. Only downside with the apartment units (can't speak for the townhouses) is that the washer/dryer is located in the basement and is shared with several other units. Takes a little getting used to from having a washer/dryer right in your apartment. Other than that, there's not much to complain about.
Great room, lake in back and staff is always helpful. Best apartments and townhouse around. Price is also fair
