Property Ratings at Windrush Apartments
Windrush Apartments is by far the most disgusting, poorly managed homes I have ever had the misfortune of living in. Mice and roaches infest the buildings, and maintenance does nothing to help. If you have any mold at all, be prepared to have your issues ignored and have maintenance gaslight you and tell you there is no mold. The other tenant has issues with asthma and was sick anytime we were home. If mold and pests are what you want then this is the place for you! Not to mention the constantly clogging drains in the units. Most of the plugs didn’t work, the AC didn’t get below MAYBE 75 degrees on a good day, and good luck getting any sort of contact with the property manager. The “dog park” (If you can even call it that, it’s really just a patch of grass with a fence around it and a bench inside) was COVERED in dog droppings and the smell was so strong I could smell it from my unit on the other side of the complex. Even with that sad excuse for a dog park, people will let their dogs do their business all over the complex and not clean up after them. If you live on the second floor I hope you like having a loud shaky kitchen, because that’s exactly what you’ll get. The downstairs units AC will shake the whole floor if anyone is inside to run it. The shaking was so strong it would knock décor off the walls in my unit, and made it impossible to get a good night’s rest. Also, beware of people walking around the parking lot! People will go around at night breaking into cars, and this place does not have ANY cameras installed anywhere. If your property gets damaged and you don’t have a security camera yourself, good luck because the most the staff here will do is shrug their shoulders and tell you to get over it. The tenant I lived with here is a musician and had expensive equipment stolen out of his car, as well as several of our neighbors, and all they could tell us was that police were already called (by other tenants fyi) and there was nothing they could do. I pity anyone that makes the mistake to sign any lease here, and I highly encourage anyone considering moving here to run as far away from this place as possible! P.S. The only good thing about this place was the outdoor cats
Moved in January of 2022; left December of '23. As I lived there, the area got less safe, including a tenant in the building across from mine smashing another tenant's car window in, and (more notably) a double murder in May of '23 (look it up). By the time I left, there was a definite background of unease, including my finding multiple knives on the side of the road just outside the complex. Maintenance was also an issue: my air conditioner condenser clogged and ruined my kitchen ceiling, and a front window was marred when I moved in. I had a good rapport with some of the maintenance staff, but the main guy I worked well with found other work. The courtyard was also unfit for purpose and flooded every time it rained. Would not recommend.
Property Manager at Windrush Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are sorry to hear about your experience at Windrush. The property is now under a new owner and a new management. A total property renovation is undertaken in the exterior and interior, including all amenities.
When you put in a work order, maintenance just updates your work order to completed when nothing has been done. We have had a new toilet sitting in our kitchen for about a week. We had a broken AC in the summer for 2 months. The maintenance worker would tell us one thing and the girls in the office would tell me another. People come dig through the dumpster and leave all the trash on the floor. New management doesn't even let you have welcome wreaths or anything on your door. Old management kept promising to upgrade washers and dryers to where you can use a debit card. So we still have old washers that don't even work. Tried calling to renew our lease about 11:30 and the manager took a 2 hour lunch. She didn't go back to the office until about 2:30.
Property Manager at Windrush Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are sorry to hear about your experience at Windrush. The property is now under a new owner and a new management. A total property renovation is undertaken in the exterior and interior, including all amenities. Management is working on getting updated laundry machines. Please submit a work order for any issue you have and management & maintenance will make sure you are satisfied with the best customer service we can provide.
This place is a joke. The price is even more of a joke. Maintenance will now dirt for 4 hours a day twice a week before they actually address work orders. It's been times I've called and they literally took almost 2 weeks to come and even look at something so small. You'd figure you're paying so much a month the least they could do is address it in a timely manner. Yes, the apartments are section 8. But some tenants (like myself) pay full rent. People are getting robbed at night by the dumpsters and cars are getting broken into. Management is more worried about kids playing outside and sending out letters for that than worrying about how work orders fall weeks behind before they get addressed. And she's rude on top of that. People around here have no respect for others around them and are loud at all hours of the night. Take heed to this warning and stay far away from here.
The Windrush Apartments that I am currently staying at are all bills paid we have 2 laundry rooms that need somewhat fixing and a pool right in the front that is absolutely refreshing if only it was opened more often. Residents that live here keep to themselfs and is most of the time pretty quite. My apartment is really homie and comptorable the biggest pirk about it is some fixing that should have really been done before a move in.
