Property Ratings at Windscape of Naperville Apartments
There were several bad reviews that I decided to ignore as I never thought that something can really go bad with a recently renovated apartment. To my surprise, the so called "recently renewed apartment" came with major issues. Broken stove, over half of the electric outlets not working and I can go on. I have send several email and no response other than an unannounced maintenance person knocking my door to take care of a couple of the multiple things on my list. Not only that, I am overcharged and had issues with their payment portal and despite of multiple calls and email. No one replies or give me a call back. Just when I thought i have seen it all.

The location of the community is great; there is easy access to a variety of amenities. The community itself is also reasonably nice looking. The apartment itself upon move-in was appalling. It looked like it was a hap-hazard fixer-up home that came out of a hurricane. Drawers were literally falling apart. Cabinets were grossly warped and sagging; bottoms and shelves looked more like bowls. Noticeable ants and spiders were present despite paying a monthly pest control fee. Floors were so dirty that they had to be scrubbed three times to remove the amount of built up dirt. Stove had damage. The refrigerator had a broken light fixture and drawers. The shower tiles was falling apart and the step flooring was peeling. Almost all cabinet doors are peeling. The toilet was cracked. I could go on, but I believe you get the picture. Staff was apologetic, specifically Angelica who is a sweetheart. However, management promised timelines for corrections that were never met. Maintenance guaranteed fix-by dates/ times that were often never hit. Only after a internal review request that was very negative got back to them did maintenance come back to fix more things. It was weeks before most our boxes could be unpacked and could actually "move-in". Still waiting on that promised concession Armond. Overall the community is nice, but the actual place of living was an absolute embarrassment. Renters beware, think twice before signing a lease here.

If I knew what I was getting myself into moving here I would have never moved here. To think you pay your hard earned money to be treated in such a low fashion is unsettling. The office staff in general are by far the most inexperienced property management I have ever dealt with. Believe the reviews. Sending in maintenance or urgent requests are not important or urgent to them as you may think. They have non labored workers (cheap laborers) come in and do surface work to the corroding units that eventually fall apart. The audacity that wood fell from my roof mid day as my toddler and I (pregnant) was not advised nor did they come clean it up until I went into the office showing pictures of the mess. Nothing will ever get done unless you go into the office and demand for attention to the urgency. This sat in my living room for nearly 3 days. They give you promises and lies they cannot keep and ban you from being able to voice your concerns and make living here as smooth and easily accessible. By far the worst place to stay and due to the urgent care bill that I received from my eye being cut, I was told I am no longer able to come to the leasing office. Which means nothing will ever get fixed. They can paint whatever picture they want … never been hostile a day in my life to them. The living here is completely unacceptable. I’m 9+ months pregnant and they could careless to make their homes safe, secure and clean.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! This place is not what it is advertised to be and a waste of money. I have lived for 18 months and this place has progressively fallen to pieces. The "dog park" is trap. The "doors" are attached to the dog area by strands of metal strips and nothing more. The grounds are not kept and the feeble attempt to remove the 3 dead trees on the property made the views of this place horrible. These apartments are advertised as "luxury" but there is nothing luxurious about them. The "keyless" entry does not work and they are not going to attempt to fix that issue. If I set the keys to close to the door, there is an incessant beeping that amounts to nothing. The sun lights leak when it rains and they won't fix that. ALL of the appliances are outdated and break constantly. The hood over my stove just fell because it was held up by 1 screw that wasn't attached to anything and I haven't received a response for the ticket I put in a week ago. My biggest issue with this place is the ignoring of all the problems that the residence face. None of the doors to the buildings with shared entrances lock. The stairs to my residence have decayed so much that the rusted wire inside the stairs are showing and snagging and ripping clothes. The bottom 2 stairs are broken and you have to shift weight to one side and not for long to get up and down the stairs. The bannisters are not connected to anything and each day chunks of the cement stairs fall off, making getting in and out my apartment dangerous. I and my neighbor have brought this to the property manager for over 6 months and I was told via email that I was "overreacting" but they have caution tape wrapped around the stairs. This place is put together in a shoddy manner and the property manager apparently won't care until there is a lawsuit. DO NOT MOVE HERE
The staff are very professional!! The property is well maintained, AND the staff are incredibly knowledgeable!! Not only that, but they're kind, and they make you feel heard. They're the reason I renew my lease every year.
What sold me was the staff. For starters, "Nonemergency requests" are solved within a week, and "emergency requests" are taken care of that day. A great example of this was when we had standing water in our dishwasher. I put in an "emergency request". Two, professional gentlemen came in later that day. They had this air about them...it made me feel like I called in the "A Team". The first gentlemen opened the dishwasher, looked at it, stood, and said, "Oh. Done." The second simply nodded his head. And sure enough, without a single word to each other, they had the issue resolved in an hour. This impresses me for two reasons. The first, is that the staff appear to be veterans of their crafts. Not every company can keep their skilled workers around. The second, is their commitment. Windscape is WHAT THEY DO. We had a closet door break, and the gentlemen who came in was like, "oh yeah, I remember these. These are model x, which is strange because you have kitchen z. These are definitely older." This made me feel heard. Nothing is worse as a young woman, than being talked down to about the maintenance of my own home. The people I've met, have made me feel safe. Another example of this is Anthony. He is a TREASURE. When we were touring, he saw a piece of litter, and without breaking conversation, he went over and grabbed it. He held it until he found a trash can. He cares about this property. Another great Anthony moment, was when we got our cats. We made a mistake, and we missed part of the vet paperwork. Anthony looked at me. I looked at Anthony. I was so scared we were going to have to get rid of our newly adopted kittens. He narrowed his eyes and said, "Huh, I guess Kate missed her appointment today. Good thing I didn't see anything." And he stood up, and walked away. You BET I was back later that day with EVERYTHING!!! Anthony didn't skip a beat. That kind of good-will isn't' something you see in this business. Overall, 6/5 stars
All my experiences have been great. Everyone is very friendly and get the job done ASAP. I have only been present for 2/4 times maintenance has come by. But the job is always taken care of.
Anthony and the team at Windscape have been friendly and helpful throughout my application, move-in, and residence here. I'm very happy with my apartment and the quality of life here.
I hope to live here for many years however I will need to move to a 1st floor apartment within the next 4-7 months since I need knee replacements and have a very hard time on the stairs.
Its been our home for many years and were very happy to live here.
On my 6th year here and I love it. Great staff and mantinance team. Beautiful property. Very pet friendly.
The management has provided little to no help from the time my lease was prepared. They do not answer the phone when you call the office, and do not follow-up on maintenance requests unless they are marked as an emergency and calling the front office multiple times. The maintenance staff is extremely under-resources and continually make short-term fixes to problems rather than long-term solutions. My air conditioning broke 5 time between April and October, our washing machine broke twice before being replaced with a used replacement, and every other request Ive made has been ignored.
I messaged them and they came to my house to fix the issue immediately! im so happy
Best maintenance team I've ever experienced in an apartment! The leasing agents are always on top of their work and are ready to answer any questions anytime!
I have lived here for years. The current office team and maintenance professionals are the best they have ever had.
Lovely complex. Excellent front office staff. Great maintenance team. Lots of green space and very pet friendly. Walking distance from the Riverwalk and Cress Creek Plaza
They came right away and fixed the air conditioning!!
Happy to be living in well-kept community.
Anthony has been very nice and patient with me! I'm not very good with online stuff! It is a nice community!!
Windscape of Naperville is a nice community, friendly residents and neighbors.
For the handful of services Ive requested, the turnaround has been quick!! Good Job Guys!
I love my apartment, the community, staff, and the location. I am very happy here. No complains .
I told myself I wouldn't live at Windscape over the years because it looked a little more expensive than what it was providing. However, when I came and checked the community out and saw my apartment I was very impressed. Anthony was also extremely helpful and moved the process along quickly. Very happy with the move.
My power was out and when I called he called me in a short time and showed up soon after that. He was courtius and professional. He had to call his supervisor and they fixed it soon after that. I was pleased with him and the speed that it was fixed.
Windscape is a wonderful community to be a part of and the staff and maintenance team is very responsive and professional.
Windscape is a great, safe community with all of the amenities you would need. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The maintenance team is very quick and professional. Can't beat the location close to downtown Naperville.
Lived here close to 2 years and our experience has been great! The apartments are very nice - it was difficult to find a modern, updated apartment in the area available when we wanted, and the price is reasonable, especially compared to towns further east. Located close to downtown with some nice stores and a grocery store nearby. We live on the first floor but toured a second floor apartment. With the high ceilings and skylights on the second floor - very nice touch. Always has parking available, and the streets/sidewalks are taken care of nicely in the winter. Would recommend this apartment complex to people looking in the area if they want to be close to the highway, close to downtown, and living in a beautiful community!
DO NOT TRUST reviews with 5 stars. This is the worst property management i have experienced so far. If not my review, you can see most of the bad reviews talk about the bad management stuff and rude behavior of them to tenants. Of course why not, once you sign the lease, there is nothing much in your hands or you can do. you have to bear their behavior. First of many, Bad attitude of managers sitting in the leasing office. Especially the guy Antony. He even pointed fingers at me while talking. sorry, 'shouting'. I had this situation where I did not see any notice left at my door about paving work going on and guess what! instead of giving me a phone call( which is not so hard as I had sticker on my car) they decided to tow the car and charge me for it. This is just one of the many incidents. make your mind that, you can never win an argument with them. Second, only the looks of the apartments are renovated. These are very old and i had to make so many calls for repairs. I even had a situation of water leaking from the roof. windows and doors are not properly insulated. Expect, flies and pantry pests in summer from the gaps in windows ( which we complained about they responded saying they got lot of these complaints but they can do nothing about it) Third, additions on rent. I did not see any community charging service fee for the rent($5) anywhere and ironically they add pest control fee, lol. All in all, I do not recommend these apartments.
The staff is OK, a little condescending though. I am not sure they are aware. The walls are PAPER THIN!!!!! You can literally hear people living their lives. Conversations, music, laughter etc. I can hear my neighbor sneezing and dogs barking though the wall in my bedroom, at nite, when I am trying to sleep. Again, my neighbors are not noisy, the walls are super thin. I can hear what is playing on their TV. If you live upstairs you will make noise just by walking and if you live downstairs, you will hear every step the upstairs person make. Dog poop everywhere. The clean-up policy is not really enforced. There is also something inherently cheap about the place. The appliances, floors etc. Something you can tell from the viewing if you branch out is that the place is really rundown. The sample apartment I looked at didn't have rotting and rusted out railings. This was so bad that the had taken "chunks" out of it.My last apartment pressure washed the doors and the patios and the outside of the building. No such thing here. It looks like the patios (from the dirt, snow, salt, leaves etc)had not been cleaned away since the 80's. I MOVED OUT THE SECOND MY LEASE WAS UP! One year is all I could do at this place. I really hate that I did not read the reviews here because I am seeing"paper thin walls" throughout the review. TRUST ME, it is not an exaggerations! THIN WALLS! Don't ask the leasing agents. See a resident walking their dog and ask them. If you come to view these apartments, make sure you drive around the property and see how run down and dirty it is. There are so many nice and beautiful more updated places in the area. I am going to be smart about my next move. I am going to look for a few residents and kindly ask their honest opinion because the leasing agents job is a sales job.
Stay away from this place!!! Everything is cheaply made And when something breaks( and it will) it never fully gets fixed!! I’ve had water pouring out of my bathroom ceiling 7 times since moving in and they still haven’t fixed my ceiling ( they failed to show up to the appointment they made with me no call nothing) when I had taken off work for that! When they need to do an inspection ( fire alarm) they don’t even give you more then a full business day notice ( with pets to make arrangements for) is just poor business! Also walls are paper thin, I can hear everything my neighbors are doing and the doors In the hall slamming and the halls echo badly! Very overpriced for how small the apartments are and how poorly they are maintained!! Can’t wait to get out of this place, wish I hadn’t ever moved in!!
Anthony is pure garbage and is a swindling con artist I’m sure. He lied through his teeth to get us to sign this lease. I’m more pissed about the amenities I was promised and was unable to use for 6 months. And after being without the amenities, the $25 increase of rent that HE stated was then increased by merely 200. I wanted to downsize and spoke with him about pricing, he stated he would follow up and never did- I reached out to him to find out there was an increase in the price I was stated and got an oh I’m sorry. Like, I have to move and this is a serious matter, but he didn’t care and doesn’t care as he ate off of the year we there. They don’t care about the tenants, they only care about the money. He even told me that the increase would be large because “we want those units”. Nevermind getting tenants in here that you don’t know. Absolutely disgusting.
BEWARE: I currently live here now, 1. It takes three cycles of 80 minutes each just to dry one load of laundry. I asked them to check the ventilation and turns out there was PILES of debris in there. Still didn't fix the issue. 2. The carpets are nasty and paper thin. I found out from a resident that when you renew your lease, you are able to get a free carpet cleaning. They never inform you of this unless you ask for it. I read EVERY WORD of the lease and it is NOT listed there or on their website. 3. The "Wood floors" in the kitchen and bathrooms are paper thin, so if you move the fridge for any reason, it creates a crease in the floors that never go away. If you want "wood floors" in the main area, you have to pay $30-$40 a month extra. 4. The walls are paper thin. You are able to hear every word your neighbors say. 5. What you see in the MODEL APARTMENTS are NOT what you actually get in the apartment. The model apartments are beautiful. The actual apartment is not. 6. Any repair that we needed, got "fixed" with cheap materials that break very soon anyways. Everytime we need anything fixed, I have to cause a scene for it to get done, and takes weeks to get completed. 7. The leasing office has TWO good people in there by the names of ANTHONY and STEPHANIE. Anyone else that you deal with has complete attitude and should not be working in customer service. 8. Make sure to take pictures of EVERYTHING when you rent with them, or else they will say, "Oh, you signed the lease already, you are responsible for it." I had to tell them that I was going to hire a lawyer to sue them and cancel the lease, because we walked into a damaged apartment, that we were not allowed to see until after we signed the lease. No new paint, carpets were dirty, cabinets were damaged and completely scratched up from the previous tenants, cracks in the ceiling, cracks in the sinks etc. THEN they decided to actually come and see the damage, and "fix" the apartment. 9. Rent goes up every year. 10. They give you very short notices of when anything is being "done" to the apartment. When I say short, I mean a day notice. 11. There are no lights in the main living area. NONE. You have to buy lamps, or you are left in the dark. 12. Some windows stay up when you open them, others don't. I have to use book to keep the window open. 13. Some outlets work, some don't. I have plenty of pictures to back up my claims that I will be posting soon.
Honestly there are so many issues with this apartment complex. Yeah they might have some new appliances and wood floor but there are many hidden fees and other things that we got billed for without them saying anything. The management staff is so snotty, rude, and don't care about you whatsoever. It is horrible trying to have a conversation with them or tell them the issues you are having. They do not deal with issues correctly at all and frankly do not care. I have never experienced an apartment complex and management staff that is so terrible to be a part of. We have only been living here for just over a month as well and have dealt with so many issues that nobody should have to deal with. Especially young adults that have just finished college and work full time jobs. Do not move here unless it is your only option or you have no other choice.
1 BR/1BR apartment Windscape was fantastic, from move-in to move-out. I had very few maintenance issues, but when they arose, they were fixed within hours. When I locked myself out my building at 7:15 am, maintenance still arrived timely, without any fuss. When my pilot light kept going out during winter at odd hours, they always came fast and had my best interest in mind. The units are a great size, with updated ranges, fridges, and dishwashers. Lots of storage with walk-in closet and storage closet outside of unit. Heating and cooling work great as well. There is ample parking for you and guests. Location is perfect, not too far from downtown and close to any store imaginable. You hear the high school events at the field every so often, but we were all kids before. Price is spot on. The office and maintenance staff are great, and always very helpful. They are always visible, so you know they are proud of their community. They receive your packages as well, which is a plus. I would recommend these apartments to anyone moving to the area. I moved to the are alone for work and couldn't be happier with Windscape. Always felt safe and secure.
My husband and I just moved into Windscape. The office staff is extremely nice and helpful, maintenance is quick to respond, the property is beautiful, or apartment is stunning, and we are in a great location.
This is perfect location if you are looking something below 1000 bucks near Naperville Metra & Downtown. Apartment do have good clubhouse and Bus facility to reach Metra station for daily Chicago Downtown commuters. Apartments are old but new facilities are renovated. Rooms are comfortable with central AC and gas heating. Nice ventilation and perfect place to live in with affordable price.
Windscape of Naperville was great, management always did their job right and answered or assisted with anything needed. There is a nice pool and a good gym which I love. This place overall is wonderful.
Windscape apartments are perhaps a bit on the small side, yes. However, the location (less than one mile from beautiful, hoppin' downtown Naperville), the rehabbed, modern feel and the beautiful grounds make up for the limited space in spades. On top of that, the office staff is warm and helpful and always just a phone call away (no incommunicado here). Maintenance is super fast and takes care of every issue, every time-and always within 48 hours in my experience. If you aren't familiar with the neighborhood surrounding the massive Naperville North High School, it's safe, pretty and full of parks and shopping that will keep you busy for years. Windscape is nestled off of busy Ogden Ave, so noise it at a minimum while still keeping you right near the action. This complex is, quite simply the bomb.com.
I love my apartment! It was newly renovated before I moved in, so I have all new appliances, and my apartment looks fresh and new. I have skylights, and plenty of windows for my cat (and me) to enjoy. There is SO MUCH storage, I don't even know what to do with myself. How often can you say that about an apartment? The walk in closet is really big, and the bathroom has so much counter space! I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the office and maintenance staff. The pool is very clean and enjoyable. I think this apartment is much more than other places in the same price range. I got an amazing deal because I work for a preferred employer. My very favorite feature is the ceiling fan in the bedroom. It makes me so happy!
