Property Ratings at Windsor Lakes Apartment Homes
I lived here for 5 days. Why so short you ask? My apartment was infested with cockroaches. And not just a handful, I’m talking at least a hundred killed in 5 days. Emergency maintenance states they can help you if your home becomes uninhabitable and that’s a lie. I called on a Saturday night and no one did anything about the roach infestation until 4:30 pm on Monday. They sprayed and said I might see a few. I found 20 dead on Tuesday at 8 am and killed at least 6 more before 11:30 am. My last straw was when I found them crawling in my fridge and cabinet on my food. They took out my appliances and I found a nest the size of my fist. The leasing office told me I shouldn’t expect people to jump for me and change their schedule to help me out. I then asked her if she would like to switch homes for the night then and she walked away. Did they pay for my temporary housing? Of course not because they said it was habitable when law says different. They weren’t sending someone to deal with the ongoing issue until Thursday. It was Tuesday and they expected me to live in aj uninhabitable home. Very shady, do not live here. Especially in building 4!

I will hate this place, forever. I will never forgive this apartment complex and their entire management team for how they have ruined the past year of my life. This apartment had a "clerical error" and accidently credited my account. I assumed I overpaid, because I've done that before, and two months later (without notice, call, or email), I now have an extra $790 charge on my account. I was not given a payment plan or any other options for that matter on fixing this issue that I did not cause. For the past year, my checks have been on off intervals for my rent payments, because of this situation. Their have been so many experiences that I've had to just needlessly struggle through, because of their clerical error. Specifically, saving my kitten from dying because I didn't have the money to get him care in time, enjoying spending time with my family because I couldn't afford the gas to see them, being unable to contribute to my sister's wedding because I now have back rent, being unable to afford Christmas presents for my family, because I'm paying back rent, and having to delay an endoscopy for 2 months because of a "clerical error". On top of all of that I was still charged a late fee every month from the deficit I was forced into. On top of that, when I finally got caught up, I brought this exact situation up to their management team, once again, to see if their was some way they could rectify or pacify me from the hardship they forced me into. Do you know what they did, they gave me a one month curtesy late fee, so if there is ever a time where I have to pay my rent late, I won't be charged a late fee, one time. On top of that, there have been two separate instances where I was double charged a month's rent. If you are looking for an apartment, do not look here. I really wish that I could sue this place, but what can you do when you're a regular person working full time. Once again, I will hate this place forever, and I will never forget or forgive all those involved in this process. If I could curse them I would. I hope this helps your buying decisions.

Hi again. Please email our management team regarding your account charges, we would be happy to provide you with an account statement summarizing all your charges. We can be reached at windslorlakesmgr@morganproperties.com and can send that over. Again, we believe in transparency and never want you to feel you've been charged for no reason. Thank you!
Lived here for three years with constant issues from the leasing office. They charge you for any wear and tear even despite being there for 3+ years, if it’s minor like small foot scuffs on the wall. The leasing staff never answer the phone and won’t give you a call back if you leave a voicemail. They never answer emails either. I would not recommend please listen to reviews because they are all bad from this complex!!

Beware everyone who wants to move in, This is the worse place to live IN, The bunch of roaches coming out of every pipeline coming to your unit. Management won’t help you solve the issue they might give you a new unit to move in too, but you dont know if it’s going to be the same thing. I will post review to that if it’s same in future that is if they will help me.. my recommendation to move into this apartment community is bellow zero.

Grounds were absolutely disgusting and embarrassing. Garbage everywhere and two maintenance men walking around doing nothing. Apartment was filthy and old. Stairs around grounds were falling apart. Very gross.

Is you looking for a nice place for live, this is not a place for sure. only the leasing office looks good, the buildings and apartments in really bad conditions, stairs smells horrible, the apartments in pretty bad conditions (cabinets, bathrooms, windows, etc.) also they offer laundry facilities but is a dryer and washer for block around 30 apartments that's a joke. the leasing office never answered the phone. they charge you 100 and 150 if your application is approved, don't waste your money and time.
Well, I made an appointment to tour the place at 9am today. Got there early and waited outside for the office to open, an employee kindly let me in at 8:55 and after that I wasn’t acknowledged once. I waited in their lobby until 9:25 and decided to leave. An employee looked at me as I was walking out but didn’t bother to say anything. It’s a shame because I was ready to apply today. I’m typing this from their “Future Resident Parking” space right now. I will not be a future resident. What a waste of my time!

Service is so useless, they debited the deposit from my bank and never got the apartment ready to move in. Been trying to get a refund for over a month and still can’t get it, had to personally go to the leasing office and they still can’t help. Is disrespectful to peoples time. Can’t even get corporate number to issue a concern
Where do I begin? This is going to be a long review so bare with me. I don't ever write reviews but my lackluster experience wants me to make people aware of what they are getting themselves into. When we moved in our fridge was unplugged and the apartment smelled like gas. Our apartment smelled terribly of gas because maintenance didn't connect our oven correctly, so gas was leaking into the apartment. We cannot use several of the outlets in the living room area otherwise the lights flicker. The washer and dryers are $1.75 a piece and if they break, it is on the RESIDENTS to call the number and have someone from the company go out and fix it. Also, on the topic of laundry, a whole unit which contains about 30+ apartments all shares 3 washers and 3 dryers. Our water temperature and pressure are pretty much non-existent. If you want a warm shower with good pressure...good luck! It is always a hit or miss (usually always a miss). In the winter it just gets worse. Maintenance does not shovel or salt when it is icy. We had to buy salt to salt our sidewalks and entrance so no one would slip and fall. It took me reaching out to the leasing office about the issue and it didn't do anything. Also this past summer they redid a lot of the buildings roofs but not ours! So this winter when we got a lot of snow and it started melting we got a big leak in the stairway. The ceiling drywall had a lot of water damage to the point some of it fell off and shattered onto the ground. I reached out to maintenance and it took them almost a WEEK to do anything about it. Then it took them almost another WEEK to actually fix it. When it snows and they do plow the parking lots, they plow all the cars into the spots so good luck getting out - you'll need a shovel. I live on the third floor and the buildings use boiler heat. Even though our thermostat is off, we still get heat coming into our apartment so it is ungodly hot. We had to start either leaving the windows open or turning on the AC because it has gotten upwards to 90 degrees before. The maintenance and leasing office staff do not answer at all. There have been some instances where I just never get a reply. When we first moved in we were told that the clubhouse in the leasing office was going to be turned into an Amazon/package room and so far, nothing has been done. You will not get your packages because they won't be delivered or there have been instances where packages have been stolen also.
If you were interested in this complex please let this review be the deciding factor to NOT move here. Since I’ve moved in I have been counting down the days until my lease is up. Starting with maintenance and the employees in the leasing office they are all lazy so please do not expect them to do their job. When I first moved in to my unit my air conditioner did not work and I made them aware of that on our walk through of the unit before they gave me the keys. I complained for days calling both the emergency maintenance number and even emailing Morgan properties about the issue and neither one of them got back to me. It took 5 hot summer days for them to finally exchange my AC unit not to mention there was a bees nest near my window in the living room that still will not close fully because it is broke. I have also complained about this since I moved in and they ensured me that since they were putting new windows in all the buildings that the problem will soon be fixed but here I am 3 months before my lease is over and the windows have yet to be fixed I literally almost froze to death this winter. Everything else reported that was broken during our walkthrough inspection of the unit was never fixed to this day. On to the neighbors these are the dirtiest people I’ve ever come across they do not pick up their dogs poop and will allow them to poop on the sidewalk. The neighbors also refuse to take their bags of garbage to the actual garbage can and instead will leave them by the front and back door and now that I think about it maybe this is the reason why there are mice in the laundry room. Yes I did say mice! Since we are on the topic of the buildings themselves they have purple carpet from 1956 in the hallways that smells like mildew and the only way you do not smell it is when the neighbors are smoking their 15 packs of cigarettes a day. The cigarette smell is so strong I have bought 2 air purifiers and it has not helped at all. I have had an asthma attack almost every other night living here. If you have pets be aware of the broken liquor bottles all on the sidewalks throughout the complex as well. If none of this has persuaded you to not waste your time here please do not get anything important delivered here. Since I have moved in my neighbors have stolen 5 packages from me in total. THREE of those packages were inside our entrance door by the mailboxes and TWO were delivered to the leasing office.
Do not rent…. Do not apply… I was told I had to put in an application and get approved before I could tour an apartment for $50. (Which I knew about and was ok with.) I toured the apartment, realized the apartment wasn’t for me, due to the fact the apartment available was close to the main road. With anxiety stemming from the military I would never be able to sleep that close to the road. Windsor Lake then charged me $150 because I said no to the apartment after my application was approved. (Which was required to just look at the apartment) Extremely dirty way to treat your potential customers.
I normally don't review, I think I should review this one because I need to make aware of some thing they do. I applied for apartment for my brother who was moving from different country and since he didn't have credit history I applied as grantor. It took me more than a week talking with them to figure out that he wont be approved until signed by grantor. When I asked them about the situation in first phone call. Well as we applied and application was approved, they took another $150 beside $100 application fee, as told since application was approved. But during the move in day they refused to give us the apartment because they were not aware about that my brother also has a baby and they denied the application on move in day. However, since we didn't have other choice we requested to work on other solutions because my brother dint have other arrangement at that point. But they even denied to talk to us. Well at that point we give up talking to them it seems like talking to stone, so we requested back the $150 they pulled from account which was supposed to be pulled only in case of application is approved, since they denied it, they should return it. And they are even ignoring that. I don't know if there is any place I can complain about them.

They may have change ownership but the conditions are still the same and advertising is false, don't trust a place that doesn't show you actual picture or room measurements but only advertise their club house as a main attraction. Just save yourself the time look until some place else.

My husband and i moved into the first floor apart back in 2019 we were newly married. The apartment was in excellent condition even though that apartment was the reason why there was flood damage on the entire floor. Since being there 13 months, we have had neighbors from hell. police were constantly over there. i had to curse out the management because the maintenance entered our apartment with out permission and went in our refrigerator and help themselves to some beverage. We threw out all the food in the refrigerator and demanded that if anyone else come in our apartment again without our consent, it will be trouble for that person or persons. The garbage unit outside was disgusting and we never used the laundry facility because it looked like a dump. they charge high rates and let anybody that have the money move in. My husband had a drug addict asked him where to get some drugs! we were so glad that we got out right when COVID 19 started. DO NOT RENT HERE.
I have lived here two months and can't wait to move! They don't maintain the interior of the buildings. Entry ways and hallways are filthy and smell horrible! Outside there is trash everywhere that never gets picked up. Laundry rooms are nasty and I never use it. You can't get anything fixed. Maintenance came and just said "oh that's just how it is". I have to deal with constant 2nd hand smoke (cigarette and weed). They rent is much lower than I was paying BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
This office is a joke! I’ve they are very rude and very unprofessional! I’ve had several issues since I moved here in February.. it’s not middle of July and nothing has been done. They shut off my buildings waster twice now without notifying me! They will do whatever it takes to get you here and then they don’t care about you! I’ve called Windsor lakes and Element National (their property management) and NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED! I have a whole list of issues that are very simple and nothing is being done! DO NOT LIVE HERE!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!
Do your research before you rent at this complex. You will regret living here. They constantly lie about mostly everything. It is impossible to receive packages that are bigger than 14 x 14 x 14. That nice pool that they advertise is never open. The hot tub looks like a toilet. They do a horrible job of maintaining the apartments. I have been here for almost a year and truly regret it.
They had me pay $300 to hold an apartment for me and they told me to wait 2-3 days to hear back it’s going on a week no call back and they don’t answer or return phone calls
I moved here in May and during the summer months everything was fine. However as soon as the cold weather came the problems followed. My heat has gone out a few times, but I dealt with it because I was trying to be understanding. However, during the Polar Votex my heat has gone out when the temperature is -27 and with the wind chill the temperature feels like -50. One word: UNACCEPTABLE. The maintenance team is unresponsive. I have to ask 3-4 times for someone to clear the snow and ice from the sidewalk.

As others have suggested, the maintenance staff/management team is slow to respond to even major incidents. Heat was broken for 3.5 weeks, major appliances have been broken for 3 months. Multiple requests have been opened, and closed with no solution and no response. The cherry on the sundae here: major flooding occurred in my apartment, maintenance staff walked over the water flowing from the apartment and left for the day. When management was called "Its the end of the day, you will have to call after hours emergency maintenance team" was the response. The apartments are cheap, but you get what you pay for! Find some place for a few extra dollars a month, or you will end up regretting your choice.

I have had a very hard time dealing with the maintenance staff which has made my overall experience of staying at windsor lake extremely agonizing. They have a very poor maintenance facility. Nobody turns up even after several phone calls and emails to fix the issues. I had to suffer a lot due to unavailability of basic amenities in my apartment (refrigerator and cooking range). Waiting for my contract to expire as I am left with no other option. Didnt want to give a single star but it wont let me submit without it.

I have dog urine coming through my ceiling in my apartment. I had to get the authorities involved. This place is disgusting. The whirlpool/spa hot tub they advertise has been broken for 4 1/2 years. The hallways smell like Snoop Dog lives here constant smoke. Pit bull alley. Very aggressive dogs trying to get into my windows. No help from the leasing office at all. The nice photo of the fountain is probably as old as the TV's in the fitness so called work out room. Not a safe place to live. These apartments need to be condemned seriously. Do not rent here. It's disgusting and mold filled. No healthy place to live at all. Management doesn't care.

This apartment complex is literally the worst I have ever lived in. The apartments are disgusting and outdated. The common outdoor areas are covered in dog poop that residents do NOT pick up. All of the buildings are smoking buildings, so no matter how clean you keep your own apartment, it reeks of stale cigarettes from your neighbors. The hallways are disgusting, covered in garbage and also smelling of marijuana most of the times. Our fire alarm goes off CONSTANTLY and then they just TURN THEM OFF because they are so faulty. Multiple times in the middle of the night, the whole building has to be evacuated because the fire alarms are broken. The pool is gross and the other common areas are worn down. We rarely let our kid play at the playground because it is so beat up. I cannot wait to get out of here. The staff is nice people but horrible at their job, which is not their fault. Management just wants to save money and make money off of people living here so they skimp wherever they can. Bugs all over the apartment, the carpets are disgusting, and a lot of our fixtures were broken when we moved in. Do. Not. Live. Here.

Run, don’t walk, away from this place! You pay too much money for a place that’s not well kept at all! They don’t repair anything in a timely manner and sometimes just not at all. When it starts getting cold you have to wait for them to turn the heat on! You end up with frost on the inside of your windows. Sketchy people hanging out in the open field constantly. The hallways always smell like weed or dog poo. The only “nice” area is their “club house” the hot tub has never worked in tha 2 years I’ve been here. The pool is heated but its so warm that it’s not refreshing in the heat of summer. Black mold seeping through the paint. Just seriously, don’t give these people your money. You will be kicking yourself!

I’ve had plumbing issues for 6 of the 7 months I’ve lived here. Disgusting sewage backup from other apartments filling up the tub and toilet at least once per month. I never complained to the leasing office for the first 5 months until January when it happened 3 TIMES IN 1 WEEK. Their solution was to move me to another building and they would “waive the transfer fee.” Really?! They call that a solution? Why should I have to pay a dime for a problem that did not originate in my apartment or by my actions. When I requested that they either pay for the moving fees or find movers of their own to move my stuff because it’s not an expense I should have to incur on top of all the hours cleaning health hazard and unsanitary mess I have to clean each time they said “corporate” did not approve. If you care about your health, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They don’t care.

You would NOT get a chance to look at your apartment prior to moving in. Unless, you call the staff numerous time (week after week). We were told our apartment was not ready to be seen. After threatening we would not move in without seeing the apartment, they let us see it literally 2 days before moving in. Even then, the shower had draining issues, the kitchen cabinets was stained and was peeling, the living room fan was not working, smudge on the wall, window blinds were missing e.t.c. We asked for those problems to be fixed before moving in but WHAT A SHOKE! they did not care to fix it. We had paid deposit and so we moved in with hopes that we will call maintenace and have them fix the issue one by one. The staff members are so unprofessional and rude. Residents pay their money to get the best if not fair treatment from landlords/apartment owners/property managers e.t.c. However, at windsor, they treat you like you are staying at their apartment for free. They yell, not answer the phone and give you attitude. For instance, today I called the office to let them know someone on our corrider has been dumping trash on the stairs for the past month instead of throwing it in the dumpster. Yes you heard that right! Grown people throwing trash on the corrider. It is a matter of time before rodent and insects come to each apartment no matter how clean you keep yours. Anyway, I have been leaving several messages to the staff in the previous weeks too and of course i did not hear back. I finally got a hold of someone called kiara or what ever her name is and she was absolutely rude, cuts me of before I even explain the situation and yells at me and claims their maintenance people always check the apartment buildings (well clearly not..the trash has been there for 3 weeks) If you still decide to rent from this place ask for Melisa to help you. she is the nicest of all! The apartment corridors smell horrible and I doubt they vacucume the hallway carpets (i.e you will see cigarret buds on the stairs and, empty beer/soda cans as well!). In my previous experience, the landlord will have people come in and clean the main hallways and of course tenants are responsible for cleanliness of their own homes. You have no control over the heat during the cold season (at least in my apartment the thermostat does NOT work) and yes I have called the staff multiple times. Either you are freezing or your are so hot, you have to open your windows in the Winter!

These places are bad, and I have lived in my fair share of apartments. My three year old is constantly saying how it smells like cigarettes and dog poop, because we live in the pet building and the leasing agents never told us people could and DO smoke (pot and cigarettes) in their apartments, the hallways, and right outside the door. Maintenance never comes. We have had many issues with the apartments tile floors, appliances, heating, and lights. It's taken going to the office every day for a week to even get them to come out to us. The grounds are rarely cleaned except near the leasing office. I'm sure they make sure the apartments near there look nice, but our building sure does not. They told us our rent would be a certain price, and then all of the sudden we got a notice that utilities are changing. Bottom line: it's cheap. We pay less money than most places around here, and it shows. But honestly it is still not worth the price, we are overpaying for an apartment that is dirty, old, and falling apart.
Lived here going on 2 yrs and I made the worst decision in renewing my lease. Needless to say I'm only 2 months into my new new lease and searching for a new place to live next year. Garbage everywhere. Maintance and office staff are the laziest ppl on earth. It should never take 13 months to have a repair done. They also say I'll put in an emergency work order of emergency means 13 moths later I'd like to see what a lie or non-emergent work order is about. Yes your base rent stay the same while they increase the yearly usage of water trash----oh yes the trash that lives on the complex ground. Only move here if your desperate for a place to live or just want to say your living in suburb. The apartments are disgusting. They ask you upon move in to make a list of the things are wrong in the apartment. Don't waste your time because they will never repair them. Don't come to Windsor Lakes the dumb of Woodridge Wish I could the rating a triple negative zero
The staff shows no care to the tenants whatsoever. They sent a notice on whether or not I wanted to stay or move 3 days before the notice had to be returned (who could make such a major decision in 3 days)? So now I am forced to pay an extra months rent because they claim to need 60 days notice! How convenient for them! Rent is due on the 5th. My money order clearly states the 5th, but because I dropped it in the drop box on the 6th it is considered late and I am being forced to pay a late fee. There is no understanding or compassion from the staff whatsoever. They are truly money hungry. I want to get in contact with the owners, but of course they refuse to give me any information.
I'd give it ZERO stars if I could!! Worst place to ever rent from DONT EVER LIVE HERE!! They have bugs, they have MOLD, expect to see nasty garbage all over the lot and grass areas all the time. OH AND the management is THE WORST!! They don't care about anyone. You have to call 2-3 times just to get maintence or a bug person out to your apartment cause they never write your name down when they say they do. Good luck getting ahold of the actual manager. Once you do she's so rude and doesn't care about anyone, JUST MONEY AND WILL ARGUE WITH YOU. I didn't even stay there the last two months of my lease because of mold, bugs and my heater was broke and wouldn't turn off so it was 80 degrees always! And when you move out they will find ANYTHING to charge you for just so they can get money towards their CRAPPY apartments! SCREW THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. I hope they get shut down for the WORST living conditions and management.
I have lived in my apartment for 4 years it it is progressively getting worse. I currently had an alarm going off under my apartment for the last 2 weeks. I call the office and keep getting told they will put in a work order with maintenance. 3x I called and I even went in and complained. They act like they can’t find the order (because they have not put it in) and nothing has been resolved. It sounds like someone’s wake up alarm going off in my apartment 24 hrs a day. Turns out it is coming from the electrical box in a room behind in the storage area. I took pics and video as evidence. They have not updated the gym area, most equipment is broken down and barely working. It has gotten progressively worse. The barely salt in the winter so prepare to fall on ice. The apartments are all old and uncared for. The apartments look nothing like the models so be prepared. All of the appliances are mitch matched and old. The aparments have not been renovated since at least the 90’s. You do at least get a fresh coat of paint though. The rent goes up $50 or more per year. The rent fee you see is a lie because they charge a bulk rate for the water and gas (not optional) which also goes up every year. When there is a bad storm the windows leak and maintenance’s resolution was to paint over the wet spots. Told me there is nothing they can do. I’m not even on the 3rd floor. I’m on the 2nd. Mold anyone? It literally takes them weeks to fix anything that may be wrong in a common area. Residents in the summer time hang out in the parking lots playing music until 2 or 3 am whether it is a work day or not. Come take a look at their tennis court and you judge for yourself. Smoke and mirrors. If this sounds like a great place to live, then you my friend are just the sucker they are looking for. If you have any sense, find another place to live. This ain’t what you want, my friend that much I can promise you.
The apartments are located is a very good area for shopping, dining, and activities. However, it lacks the care that you would think property owners should have in this area. Some buildings are more kept then others and you deal with pests. I hope the property owners read this because I thought it was sad and had high hopes that if you are asking for this type of rent that you would reciprocate the same services for your residents. Get it together!!!
I've been with this company for 4 years and it started off nice but as the years went on they decided to up the rent ever year. You ask for work to be done in the apartment. It takes 3 to 4 weeks and still don't come you have to go back to the office to see why. I feel the property manage. Need to come out the office to see what there needs and do a walk through the apartment. If you late on your rent they charging 75.00 but you can't get the work done in a timely manner. People are moving left and right. They just letting anyone move in know. Garbage everywhere. Some of the guys working the field just dri e around doing nothing. Ask to move to different floor because of my illiness was told i had to pay 200.00 to move ask to remove carpet because of illiness i was going to put the tile down myself was told no. So it's time to go when lease is up DON'T RENT YOU BE SORRY
Windsor Lakes's slogan should be "Only if it's your last resort". Current resident since July 1. Believe me, they did everything right when trying to get us to rent, showed off an immaculate apartment, quickly grazed over the club house and only took us through the part of the grounds that were "Prettied Up". However, once we moved in, it was a whole different story. On the day of our move-in, we tried to open our door and the core to our deadlock fell out, they didn't call maintenance for over an hour while we sat and waited for another hour. It took so long that eventually, I just went and fixed the door myself. We put in for a service request to fix our lock and it took OVER A MONTH for maintenence to come fix it. Oh, and did I mention that time it rained really bad and it was literally pouring into our apartment through where the blinds were attached? So much leaked through the walls, that our blinds actually fell down! If that's not enough, one of the residents broke the lock to the door to get into the building, so my girlfriend asked them to fix it 5 weeks ago, and that's right, you guessed it- still not fixed- so that means anyone can walk into our building at this very moment and break the individual apartment doors. The only way I would recommend this place is if it your last resort for wanting to live in Woodridge, and you have a pet. Otherwise, don't even bother!
Of all the places I could go, I wouldn't want to go anywhere except Windsor Lakes. One of the most spacious rentals i've ever had. The complex is always clean and the maintenance crew is always responding to issues at a good rate. They have a full fitness center along with a basketball court. And lets not forget the pool. Awesome place. I'm renewing my lease
My bld. is quiet and they have a very good staff. Work order are completed at a reasonable time. Friendly neighbors.
It is a decent place to rent. They do keep up on the grounds maintenance and the hallways. The only problem I had is it took 4 weeks to fix my refrigerator. Other than that it is a safe place. Make sure you keep your parking sticker visible as there is a private tow company that goes thru the parking at 2 in the morning checking. I am now looking again and I do use apartments.com to find apartments. They let you search without giving all your information and all information is listed.
-I moved in May 2015. It is now September 2015. In the short time I have lived here my building has had several issues. My unit has issues with the bathroom floor tile. It was so poorly laid that it bubbles and I have tile coming up just by me stepping on them with bare feet! They are sharp and jagged, completely not safe. The kitchen is atrocious. The cabinets, once white, have a yellow tint. The wood paneling is also peeling off. (It was this way before we moved in.) -There is one AC unit, and it is the furthest corner from the rest of the area. No AC in the bedroom (We have a 1 bedroom) and the cold air does not reach the bedroom. It barely reaches the kitchen. -The blinds fall off on their own accord, whether you touched them or not. -The building doors leading in to the unit are a HUGE safety hazard. One door does not close most of the time, meaning anyone can come in to the building. The other door, the lock is broken and your key will get stuck. I had this happen to me yesterday, it was a holiday, of course the leasing office was not open. I called my fiancee to come home and get the key unstuck, while waiting someone else unstuck my key and took it. He went to the leasing office today to get a new key and they wanted to charge him $12! That's ridiculous. They have not sent anyone out to fix it, it's been this way since we moved in. -Also due to this door having issues, the mail carrier could not get in to our building to deliver mail and refused to leave it at the leasing office for over a week, so all tenants in my section of building had to go to the post office to get their mail, maintenance staff took their time "fixing" the door.
Although the area is a little rough around the edges, my wife and I have lived here for 2 years without a problem. We are close to several grocery stores and there is a Sam's Club, Home Depot, and a JC Penny right across the street. Overall its really unbeatable for the price. We looked at probably 10 other apartments in the area and Windsor Lakes is the best quality for the price.
I pay 1,132$ for a 2 bedroom in a quiet apartment complex in the Norhwest Suburbs! I'll be moving soon so my daughter can be closer to her dad, so my lease is up in Sept.
Nice place to live. Clean and well kept apartment complex. Me and my fiance have been living there for close to 4 months now and we like it. We have a one bedroom one bath. A decent size apartment for a couple of 2. Management Staff is helpful and polite to us. At times finding a parking spot close to your apartment home can be a task. Especially after 7pm. But they do offer to rent a garage for a monthly cost.
If you want to live in a complex where you have to park blocks away from your building to find a parking spot, this is your dream come true. If you desire a home where they allow the trash areas to accumulate mountains of trash not always in the dumpster but around it, this is your kind of place. If your desire is poor construction, use of the cheapest materials for countertops and flooring and molding, this place rocks. If you are searching for rigidity on any type of issue that deals with fairness on rental issues, this place will meet your expectations. If you desire yuckiness, this place meets your expectations.
Overall, the apartment itself was decent, however the staff was highly unfriendly and unaccommodating. When we moved in, the apartment was not in the best condition - make sure to take pictures if you decide you want to move in so you can document what everything looks like (this came to haunt us later). When we were up to move out, our contract had a 60 day lease end (not a huge deal), so we ended up signing onto a 30 day lease (which was $150 extra a month). However, terminating the 30 day lease, they made us pay an additional month because the first lease had a 60 day lease - again, would not have been a huge deal, however they made us pay at the 30 day lease rate. So, we ended up having to pay an extra month at an elevated rate. We moved out and painted all the walls and made sure everything was completely cleaned so they wouldn't have anything else to throw at us - then we ended up getting another bill. The bill was for cleaning beyond our security deposit in excess of $100 (the security deposit was $300). Looking through the list of items that were not clean was absurd; they marked the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and carpets unclean - which seems ridiculous knowing the thorough cleaning and new paint job we gave the place. After calling the complex to see what these charges were for, we were greeted with an unhelpful staff worker who was rude indicating that is what management had determined during the final walk through of the apartment. She indicated that they take pictures, but she was unwilling to show them as she didn't know where they were. When asking for her to pull the apartment's file, she said she didn't know where they were and would have to get back to us. I was shocked at seeing how disorganized and unhelpful the staff at the complex was, especially if they are going to levee absurd fees. Oh well, nothing much I could do except pay the fees. Just be warned, while the complex and amenities are nice, the staff is worthless. (There was one gentlemen who was accommodating - I think his name was James)

Did you have a pest or bug problem? i'm looking to move into these apartments.
I can promise any one looking at this that any reviews you see that gives this place a 5 star rating come strictly from the staff. This is by far the worst place i have ever lived. You WILL NOT get what you pay for. If you are looking to move here I would advise that you strongly reconsider.
