Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We're always seeking ways to go above and beyond for our residents, so please let us know anytime we can help.
Staff Manager Jennifer made sure that I secured the best unit for my needs. She took the time listen so that my stay could be as pleasant as possible. Also, Jo'el provided excellent and efficient resolution with executing my lease, and other services I needed as I was transitioning to Windsor Shepherd. My stay has been quite pleasant ever since.

I love living at Windsor Shepherd! The amenities are great and I feel really safe here. The maintenance team is also amazing and always willing to help
To make everyone aware, this building does not have a backup generator / on-site generator specifically for the pumps, which means that you lose power, you lose water, which is a complete no-go in Houston. The other reviews are good but please bear in mind that this will put you in a really terrible position. Both times over the past 6 months when the derecho and Hurricane Beryl came through, I lost power as a resident here for far longer than any of my colleagues. I was actually the last person to get power in my entire office after the hurricane. I strongly advise finding a place that is much more resilient to extreme weather. The management here also handled the situation poorly, as after many residents had already left because we were days into no power and hadn't heard anything, they started asking us to turn off the water and take out the trash. This was not possible for many residents, as many residents who have families left in haste because they really needed a place, and I found myself homeless for a week and unable to return to the building because I needed to work. I've had pest and noise issues, and for a building with 6 floors of residents, there are only two elevators. This means that I am often waiting 5+ minutes multiple times a day for an elevator. Plus, anytime there is severe weather, the faster elevator stops working and maintenance on it takes weeks at a time. On the plus side, the kitchen is nice (except for the pull out tray on the stove, which gets jammed and I no longer use it, as one time when going to open it it flew out and slashed open my ankle. Also, be aware of the ridiculous trash pickup fee that is baked into your contract and that you CANNOT get out of, even if you take care of your own trash each week. Regardless of this, many residents are lazy and just drop their trash by the chute or put their bags in the chute and jam it by not pushing them down the chute. Noise is another issue, as the glass in the bedrooms is single-pane, which means you here EVERYTHING going by on Shepherd Drive, which is a noisy road, even at night. The bar nearby doesn't make things better. On the plus side, the staff here are pretty good, but the really good manager just moved to another complex, and I expect management to go downhill. Additionally, the West End coffee shop beside the apartment is one of the best cafes in Houston.
Living at the Windsor Shepherd has been a great experience. The building is clean, apartments are nice and the staff is friendly and extremely quick to help. Anytime I have filled out a work order they have fulfilled it within a couple of hours, leaving my apartment like new always. Truly a great building to live in.
It’s been an up and down battle and I haven’t had the best experience. Vehicle has been broken into 2 times in 1 year. My biggest complaint is the property absolutely disgusting and filthy. Never cleaned, garage hasn’t been sweeped in the three years I have lived there. It’s truly disgusting.
Windsor Shepherd is a beautiful community with quick access to the city and peaceful environment to call home.
Fast response. Great service. Friendly and professional.
Windsor Shepherd has been a great living experience! I can't really say anything bad about the property, I've lived here for two years and thinking about renewing for a third! Property staff (everyone) is super nice, friendly and helpful.
My move in experience with Amy, Jonathon and Tomorrow was outstanding. They were prepared and professional. It was also easy to reserve the date and time for the loading dock for my furniture delivery. Thanks again to the Windsor staff for doing a great job.
DO NOT LIVE HERE! I am a current resident, and have been extremely disappointed to say the least. The elevator breaks down constantly. I have lived here for just a couple months and it has broken down no less then 20 times, sometimes for multiple days in a row. The amenities are sub par. Nothing you could not find at another company/apartment complex. If you are late on your payment at no fault of your own, they charge you $100s of dollars and will not work with you! There are never community events, even though this was promised when I moved in. There is no dog park. The hallways and elevators always smell like a mix of weed, trash and air freshener mixed together. If I had a redo, I would never live here. Not worth the cost. Building is cheap, but they try to disguise it to make it look like expensive finishes. Lastly, the amount of maintenance requests I have had to put in, in just a couple months (at least 8) for a building that was built in 2018 is ridiculous. Again, save your money and live somewhere else.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We provide all of the details of our pricing and payment policies at the time of leasing, so it is unfortunate to learn that you are displeased with our enforcement of our late payment policy. However, we are happy to report that our elevator has only been down once in July and again in November. Each time, the vendor repaired it within a matter of hours. We have a hot chocolate event in early December and a party in the Sky Lounge scheduled following renovations. If you would like to discuss any of this further, we would be happy to speak with you directly at shepherd@windsorcommunities.com.
Well-managed community with a variety of apartment homes available. Covered parking is plentiful, but they do apply a small monthly charge for it. Management was hugely helpful with my move-in process coming from out of state. Apartment is not turnkey, but updated enough and a fair price considering the great location in central Houston.

Move in was smooth. Staff walked me to my apartment and stayed as i checked for flaws.

I have enjoyed my time at Windsor thus far! I moved from out of state sight unseen and I was pleasantly surprised. The location is super convenient, close to everything. I love the layout of my unit. Jonathan in the leasing office is amazing and has handled any issue or concern I have had. He’s always super professional and easy to talk to. Two cons…. The floors are loud, I find myself tip-toeing around my apartment at times and my upstairs neighbor can be a nightmare. The other is the elevators, extremely inconvenient when down but for the most part are fixed in a timely manner. My experience with maintenance has been great also. Overall a positive experience.

Great staff. Never had an issue, and they go above and beyond all around.
The service by the maintenance team is always excellent. Once a work order is submitted, I always hear back no later than the next business day. Work is always completed promptly. Thank you so much.
The maintenance staff is amazing, I do like the resort style of the amenities. But that doesn't justify the lack of cleanliness in the gym, and at garbage chutes, elevator issues, and security issues. I once had to take 2 suitcases down 6 flights of stairs because all the elevators were out. And management didn't even offer assistance when I called down asking about the elevators. All I got was a "sorry for the inconvenience"
I really enjoy living at Windsor Shepherd. From the moment I stepped into the lobby for my first tour, I had a very different experience than I had at other communities. All of the leasing agents and property managers are so helpful and want to make your life as easy as possible. This is my first apartment after college and so far I have been very happy with the experience. Plus the coffee machine is a fantastic perk!
Management is great but they don’t have a lot to work with. The complex is poorly designed. The door to my bathroom doesn’t lock (entire door isn’t aligned properly). One elevator is the slowest elevator I have ever experienced in an apartment complex, the other is the fastest. They both frequently break. The pool is not heated during the fall/winter months and the sun only hits it 6 months out of the year so it is basically useless for the other 6. I witnessed a lightning bolt strike a power poll and somehow disable the entire door fob system in the apartment complex. With my knowledge of apartment construction, I know they didn’t install a sufficient surge protector to prevent this. On top of that, upper level management took 3 months to “order the right parts” to fix it. In other words, they waited for the cheapest option to be available from the supply chain (told complex management to blame it on the “Florida hurricane” which made no sense). During that 3 months, 2 separate crime instances occurred in the parking garage. One of which involves the theft of multiple cars, the other involved the breaking into of 20 vehicles. The construction that’s supposed to be done by this winter on both Durham and Shepherd is looking more like next summer/fall. And despite these inconveniences, they continue to raise monthly rent drastically. If it wasn’t for the uniqueness of my apartment design, complex management (Amy is a saint), and the location..I would’ve left this poorly designed apartment complex months ago (would’ve been more than happy to break my lease).
I would not recommend living at Windsor Shepherd, especially for the price point. Overall I am and have been incredibly disappointed with my experience.
The good: Office and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. When maintenance issues have arisen for me, they have always been taken care of promptly and professionally. Despite the above stated comments, my experience with Windsor Shepherd over the last few months (I have lived here 2+ years) has been overwhelming poor. The FOB system was broken for months, which created an unsafe environment as certain building access points were left unprotected. Recently, there was a massive car break in which affects dozens of cars in the "secure" resident parking garage and today packages stolen from the "secure" mail room. While rent prices continue to increase at Windsor Shepherd, quality and safety are decreasing.
ridiculously overpriced for everything not working. i reached out to management about not feeling safe because there was no security and they didn’t respond. i might even cut my lease early.
Where do I start? I lived here for 3 years. At first, it was fine. By the middle of 2020, I noticed how drastically things had begun to change. As time went on, the elevator became broken more and more frequently, making navigating the building and garage awful. People begun to start leaving trash everywhere and it was left for days before being dealt with. People would throw up in the halls, and dogs mess in the elevator and it's not promptly addressed. While not necessarily on Windsor, it always took them too long to address it, and this shows the type of people this place started to attract. Then the construction started. While this isn't Windsor's fault either, on the second floor I woke up to jackhammering every single morning. Shepherd shut down to 2 lanes making it hard to get in and out of the streets by the building. We lost water with no notice multiple times while they replaced pipes under the building. It was an awful, horrible inconvenience the entire last year of my stay at Windsor. On August 24 of this year, an electrical storm damaged the FOB system that lets residents access the building and provides security. This system was STILL down as of my move out on October 20th and they had just started the repairs. The building was left completely unsecured. Two cars were stolen from the parking garage during this time, alongside numerous other break-ins. Management hired a security guard for the garage for about a week then decided the security wasn't worth their money and to risk the resident's vehicles instead which that gamble clearly did not pay off on the residents' behalf. The electric vehicle charging has only 3 stations, and the rule to only utilize them while actively charging your car is not truly enforced. There is a BMW hybrid owner that leaves the car parked in the spot for 24+hours sometimes when it could only have possibly taken a few hours to charge up, leaving actual fully electric vehicles out to dry. Despite all these complaints about the quality of life, I greatly enjoyed my interactions with Amy, Bianca, Jonathan and the maintenance staff. It is clear they are hard-working folks that are hampered by the Windsor management company that refuses to address the elevator issues or ensure the security of the residents. Windsor management company is absolutely shameful and I will never live at another Windsor property in my life. DO NOT LIVE HERE, you've been warned!
The guys on the maintenance team are great. Thanks so much.
Everything is great! We love shepherd and we live Windsor!!
Air conditioning broken 3 times. Car broken into in the parking garage. Key fob system broken for 2 months and counting. Rude and unhelpful manager. Elevator is constantly broken. Trash everywhere. No one vacuums or cleans anything.
Overall, I have nothing but great reviews for this complex. Very clean, helpful, wonderful management/maintenance, and I feel safe living in my home. Beautiful natural lighting and spacious units.
Beautiful property, professional and friendly staff.
I have been a resident here for a few months. The leasing staff, maintenance staff, and house cleaning staff are all amazing! It seems that the elevators seem to have a problem. And for some reason enforcing the 10pm rule at the pool seems to be a challenge as well.
I definitely have enjoyed my overall experience from start to finish with all the staff. Everything was made easy and staff helpful. I looked at multiple apartments and I am happy I made the choice to live here.
Excellent apartment layout, staff, and community! My dog and I both love living here and love the amazing leasing office!
The team here is great! I love how quickly Amy and Bianca at the front are always able to assist me and Franke in maintenance does such a quick fix to anything I need taken care of!
My fab stopped working and could not access garage or elevator. I felt trapped, maintenance took care of my needs immediately. I often see him and have yet to ask his name but he is always friendly.
I’ve been here for about six months and it's been a fantastic experience. Amy and Bianca, the office staff, are extremely caring and pleasant! The maintenance team responds quickly to work orders and does an excellent job! Overall, my experience at Windsor Shepherd has been wonderful, and I enjoy the amenities. It's a great place to stay, and I'm glad to call it home!
Great place to live. It’s convenient, clean, well kept, and has great amenities. The office staff and maintenance staff are very responsive.
Overall the community is great. The amenities and property are clean. Only complaint is the one elevator that’s down for weeks at a time, othetwise, I love it here.
I would not live here. This apartment complex has issues with elevator service where it goes down constantly for day, public areas that are not well kept and dirty as well as office staff that never respond to calls.
1) the elevators never work 2) the hallways are constantly disgusting, people constantly leave trash out all weekend and dog poo, and it constantly smells Definitely not worth the price
Loved the move-in and overall experience at Windsor Shephard.
Great responsiveness on the weekend for AC issues!
My experience has been poor. This is my fiancés and Is first place together and we were ecstatic. We moved into the city because we are a young couple and wanted to experience city life and all it has to offer. The first month was great. Into our second month my fiancés truck was stolen from the parking garage. We thought we could feel safe here until the security footage caught the car who did it and could see them sneaking into our complex behind another vehicle. The apartment did not want to comply with the police by giving them the footage to further investigate. 6 months later the truck is still gone. Also, when we first toured this complex we had a promo offer of 1 month free on rent. Our leasing agent told us the 1 month free is just a credit on the account and we can use it however whenever. She gave us the idea of using the credit to take ~$150 off every month. We did that with our first 2 payments with no issue. By month 3 our rent was never posted. Come to find out the 1 month free was not acting like a credit on our account since we signed the lease with it just saying 1 month free. Even though our agent told us it would just be a credit. So they went ahead and applied the 1 month free onto our April rent without our knowledge, and then we had to own and extra $300 for the times we thought we had a credit on our account. I am very unhappy with my complex, I will not recommend anyone to live here. I do not appreciate being lied to when we signed our lease. And very upset that the complex was no help at all with our stolen truck that happened on THEIR property.
The maintenance team got to my request swiftly and efficiently. I was so happy!!! Great people at this apartment
My experience so far at Windsor Shepherd has been great! My dog and I love the apartment and the leasing staff!
Such a fast process! I told them I would be leaving in the next 5 minutes and they literally had it handled before I came back within 2 years
The community and the staff are super friendly and its a very relaxing place to live. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in the area.
You get more bang for your buck here at Windsor. I feel like I live on a resort. They keep this place neat and tidy, and the ambiance screams modern and sophisticated. My neighbors fall into that category as well. The details of the apartment and the amenities really tie the place together. Definitely wish I wouldve found this place a little earlier, but its never too late because Im here to stay.
I absolutely love living here! This has been the best apartment I have ever lived in!
The lack of renters here they had to resort to Airbnb and put greater restrictions on the ones are under contract and less restrictions for the Airbnb guest he made their stay more enjoyable this is not comfortable or safe environment does not feel like home hostile staff met several other renters and they are tired of the same thing

Overall, I guess its fine - but Id expect a bit more considering that its supposed to be a luxury apartment. People are allowed to just leave smelly trash in the hallway during non pick up times, elevators are not working regularly, the free wifi in the common areas was nonexistent when I needed it the most, paint was dropped on the top of my car from when they painted in the garage, and the main elevator is super slow. Other than that, its pretty okay.
The entire management team is helpful and focused on making sure that finding and moving into your new home is a smooth process. They also make sure to follow up just to check on how everything was, and thats above and beyond service. The management team is the best in Houston.
