Property Ratings at Windward Long Point Apartments
This apartment complex is overpriced and severely under-serviced. The disorganized move-in process sets the stage for what follows. Expect so-called "top-notch" amenities like a dirty pool with hard plastic furniture, an unclean fitness center with broken equipment, and everything else worn out, and falling apart. The management routinely ignores urgent requests unless you chase them down in person, and even then, issues are only given temporary fixes. Despite these poor living conditions, the management is more skilled at deflecting responsibility than addressing problems. Save yourself the hassle and find a better place to live.

Regarding the pool, our team performs routine maintenance to ensure cleanliness. Additionally, we do everything we can to address maintenance requests in an efficient and prompt manner. Lastly, we have also addressed any issues with the fitness equipment in the gym. If you have any additional concerns, please contact the management office right away.
Rent was raised $150 this lease. Have always paid rent on time and a senior citizen. Like living here but feel they do not care about you even if reliable and cause no issues!

Assistant manager agreed I was double charged for final water bill but never resolved it like she said she would. Then they sent me to a collection agency. Windward says it’s out of their hands now.

I usually do not leave reviews, however after being directed here by my neighbor and seeing a lot of these reviews, I had to comment. I understand that no management company is perfect and mistakes happen, however it appears to me that several people have made false comments and reviews about Windward Long Point. I am sure it was most likely people that broke the rules, didn't pay their rent on time or left their apartment home a mess and was charged. This management team has shown me kindness and understanding and has always been honest (even when they didn't have to) I have lived here for 5.5 years and have never had an issue with the management or maintenance team. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this complex!

This community is well- maintained from the grounds to the buildings to the amenities. Every year you see improvements. The pool and pool area is the most spacious and attractive in the Mount Pleasant area. Management is friendly and does their best to make sure the residents in the community are happy with their apartment and community. Maintenance takes care of work orders within 24-hours. I have never had to wait to have anything done in my home. I would recommend living here!

Been a resident for over 5 years, it is a great place and location! The property is well maintained with beautiful blooming flowers and trees. The apartments are very luxurious and in pristine condition. The serene river and pond views make a relaxing Zen like environment. The friendly maintenance staff is always prompt, clean and efficient. I don't understand the bad reviews about the pool as it is always meticulously cleaned and maintained, never had any issues. The welcoming office staff is always accommodating with resolving all issues. Great atmosphere all around!

Terrible experience living there for two years. Beware! It is absolutely not worth it. They overcharged is in any way possible. They sent us to collections for a payment for electric that we directly paid to the electric company and told them we did so. Without even notifying us! They’re shady and most tenants have had similar shady things happen to them. Everyone is talking and miserable living there. The new management is rude and glares when you walk into the office. We moved out and we’re still dealing with issues from them three months after. They charged us over 900$ for a small carpet repair. We sent pictures to a local carpet repair place and they stated it could be repaired for $63.00. We told Windward this and they rudely declined and sent us to collections. Worst renting experience I have ever had!!!!

This complex is THE WORST. They are very kind and inviting to get you to sign a lease and within a month, the script flips. They are TYRANTS about the pool. Don’t bring more than 2 friends, a cooler, or a yeti cup. I have personally been pulled aside at the pool, away from my guests, and accused of violating pool rules when I wasn’t. There is a maintenance worker who lives on site and does nothing but look for residents to complain about. It’s nothing short a stressful. You won’t receive a notice if you have packages and they just implemented a new way of getting packages that costs you more money! GREAT! In addition, I have been overcharged MULTIPLE times due to the inadequacy of the office staff. You don’t receive a monthly ledger. Just an amount you’re expected to pay no questions asked. When residents complain about management and the way things are being ran, it falls on deaf ears. I have had my boyfriend stay over and that resulted in THREATS about being in violation of my lease for unapproved residents and possible eviction. He’s here maybe 3 nights a week. RIDICULOUS. All in all, the only reason I’ve stayed so long is because I’ve been too lazy to move. Thank god my lease is up in May. I cannot wait to move despite the ridiculous fees I’m sure they will apply for no god forsaken reason. Take heed to the terrible recent reviews. This apartment complex has gone nowhere except down the drain since December 2016. You’d be better off living in a communist country than in this god forsaken place.
I wouldn't even give this place one star if I had the choice. Let's begin with saying that I got home one day to an eviction notice from the court on my door. I went straight to the office with the notice in hand. I spoke with Cheryl, the manager, would claimed I never paid my rent. Thank goodness the other girl in the office verified that I had paid and she saw my check with her own two eyes. They LOST my check and then tried to have me evicted. I had to go a get a cashiers check to pay my rent. I then asked that when they found my check that they call me immediately so I can come get it and shred it since I paid with the cashiers check. Move ahead three days and I get a call from Cheryl saying they had FOUND my check, but she "accidentally" deposited it. Now this has caused me to go into overdraft in my bank account AND they do not care at all. They won't give me a check back and told me that I have to have a stop payment put on the check (which cost me $35). End of story don't rent here because they have no idea what they are doing. This has been a nightmare.
This place is garbage, my toilet broke and the management team just "aired out" my carpets and refused to give me any information about contacting the corporate office. I even mentioned how my home now Smells like mildew (from the wet carpets) and they refuse to replace carpets, and i live on the top floor, the tenants below me got offered to stay 1 night at the Red Roof Inn for their expensive troubles. Save your money and try elsewhere.
Cheryl is the manager and does not help you with anything. Acts nice when you sign but after there she will be no where to be found. Never in the office during their “work hours” and very lazy on all requests. Search elsewhere.
Got a giant rash from the pool because they don’t clean it. They charge over $200 a month on processing fees and other charges they don’t disclose on signing. Not a good value for you money. Beware
Do not move here. You will regret it. Horrible service, everything is broken and hidden fees everywhere.
Please stay away. Horrible customer service and charge for random fees that are not told about up front. Came in and everything was not working right and took months to get fixed. Bought a ceiling fan because they said they would install and then told us we would be charged for it even though we bought the fan. Overall not a good experience at all and wish I would have moved into something else that did what they promised. I am one of many who feel the same way here.
There was a creepy maintenance man that kept looking through my window at me at random times throughout the day. I told the leasing office and they did nothing about it. They were very rude about it and told me that I should just get over it. Every time I caught him looking in he would just wink and then disappear. Very strange! I ended up paying to break my lease early because I was very freaked out. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
Have lived here for over 2 years not and made the mistake of signing a long term contract with them. AWFUL management and do not take care of their people. Have had several incidents and they do nothing to help. The pool will give you rashes because of how dirty it is and wouldn't recommend moving here. A lot of things were broken in the apartment and it took months to get it fixed. The fire alarm consistently gets pulled during the night for zero reason. The washer didn't run for the first 2 months of living here. They never painted the walls like promised. Avoid and move on to the next apartment.
Stay away. Point blank just stay away. Myself and many others have experienced an extremely awful experience here. The pool is disgusting and constantly have unwanted trash in it. A lot of hidden fees they don't tell you about until you move in. They will do anything you get you to sign but after that they will be against you for everything. I have met a lot of good people here and we all agreed to leave and find a new place to live because of their awful management. Please take my review serious and please stay away.
If could give this place a 0 star I would. On the outside this community looks great but the property is poorly maintained and management will nickel and dime every last cent from you. Our dishwasher and garbage disposal broke at least once a month, the people above ya flooded our apartment and fried our electricity in a room which they never fixed.This place is a total headache and not worth the low introductory rate. I regret giving them any referrals because it is not just myself with these problems. Every single person I know that lives there hates it all due to the management and maintenance. Take your money elsewhere it's not worth the headache.
Not sure where to start with this review. Overall horrible experience. Do not move here and all of the reviews are spot on. The management does not help with anything and will tow your car without any notice for expired tags? The pool is constantly gross and will give you rashes. The apartment is completely overpriced and can find a much better rate considering their "premium apartments" don't even come with premium service. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear all of your neighbors. The service and the way they treat their tenants are the lowest of the low. Referred many people to this place and embarrassed I did so because of the way they treat their customers. A large group of us have gotten together and agreed to move out because of the countless issues with this place. Don't make the mistake we made. Trust me it's not worth your time.
Nickel and dimed upon move out -- left apartment cleaner than when I moved in; despite them having it cleaned prior to next renter, I was still charged nonsense fees. Nonsmoking facility not enforced. Breed restrictions not enforced. Bugs were an issue. Parking was an issue. Cable/internet service not optional. Pool facility not locked -- used by any and everyone. Ohh and if it rains too much during high tide, you'll get trapped -- Wando Park floods and will get shut down.
AWFUL apartments, poor management. I rented there for one year and have three CHILDREN. When I moved out, they charged me $1600 to REPLACE the carpet. They did not give me an opportunity to have it cleaned or would not hear me out. They accused me of having dogs that peed on the carpet, which I did not. Again, I have three CHILDREN. Children get sick, spill things, etc. I emailed and explained and got NO response. Instead, they sent me to a collections agency! I had no opportunity to argue my case. I think $1600 is a bit excessive. I am a licensed Realtor and property manager and this is considered normal wear & tear. Also - the apartment was occupied by a smoker previous to me and instead of telling me this before I moved in, they waited until I complained after unloaded my furniture and boxes to admit that there was a smoker there before me. It was unbearable. They put in an Ozone machine for half a day and that was it. I had to live with it at that point. My dryer went out three times while I lived there. I also got locked out of my storage unit with my luggage in it the night before a big trip because they are idiots and did not know whose belongings were in the unit and changed the locks and I had not clue! I could not reach anyone to let me into my storage unit so I had to go out and purchase new luggage!! DO NOT RENT HERE!!! There are MUCH nicer places with more understanding and professional staff in Mount Pleasant, I promise. Everyone says the amenities are great...well the pool is about 3-4 feet deep and by July it is full of hot water. It is always packed. Don't bother....
