In Northwest DC, the attention-grabbing Georgetown area has an unassuming neighbor to the north in Glover Park, which provides a quiet, small-town feel for residents to escape from the bustle of university students and M Street shoppers to the south.
Glover Park has become well-established as an ideal landing spot for young families still looking to be connected to the city, but it has more space at a better value than other parts of Washington, DC. Perfect row-home-lined streets fill in the majority of the neighborhood, while one of Northwest DC's main commercial thoroughfares, Wisconsin Avenue, runs right along the eastern border of the neighborhood.
The beauty, charm and historic feel of DC exist in spades in Glover Park. Each row home with its little porch out front, the tree-lined streets, and numerous parks are all packed into a mini community to form a lovely spot to call home.

Property Ratings at Wisconsin House
Wisconsin House is not a luxury building, but you aren't paying luxury prices! Considering the location, the excellent maintenance (common areas are always clean and neat, and maintenance requests completed same day most of the time) and the fact that in almost two years I haven't seen a pest larger or more bothersome than a few little flies which got in a hole in the window screen in my apartment, I'd say this building is great! Yes, you have to walk downstairs to let a guest or delivery person in, yes now and then some washers are broken in the laundry room. But I've never had a problem with the management company (my bank sends them a check every month, they cash it, what's to fuss over?) and the woman who runs the building is friendly and helpful. I locked myself out once around 10 pm taking out trash, and I knocked on her apartment door and she helped me out. Expecting one person to be in the little office 24/7 is ridiculous, and I've never had a package fail to arrive because it came after the building manager was done for the day. The building is old, but also charming in a mid century modern kind of way. My kitchen cabinets are the original metal ones, the tile in the bathroom is original as well, and I love it! Sure, there are fancier buildings up and down Wisconsin Ave, but if you just want a clean, well maintained place to call home and don't need a convenience store, hair salon, fitness center, and pool all in the same building then Wisconsin House is a great choice. I've been here almost two years, and I have no plans to leave!
This place has the worst building management. She technically works from 7 to 3pm and for 5 days. Often I had undelivered packages because FedEx and UPS couldn't get into the building after 3pm. There's lack of security and I had lost money (a lot) in my apartment building that only someone has the key to my building could do it. The management did nothing to help me out. You will be so much better off to walk down and up the street and rent somewhere else.
I rented at the Wisconsin House for 2 years and my biggest complaints always involved the management. Fred A. Smith Co is the most unprofessional, unorganized management company in all of DC. They were late in returning any inquiries and requests and overcharged me for a missed payment that was entirely their fault. At the end of my lease, the company withheld over $500 in charges that they had assumed responsibility for. After fighting with them for months with no reply or response, I could find no other resources but let them rob me of the $500. I would consider my options carefully before entering into business with Fred A. Smith.
