Bordering the Chesapeake Bay and the Elizabeth River in southeastern Virginia, Norfolk is the second most populous city in the state. This coastal oasis is home to the world’s largest naval base and the North American Headquarters for NATO, keeping with the city’s long history of strategic military and trade operations.
But it’s not all business in Norfolk. There’s no shortage of things to do in the city. Being a renter in Norfolk affords you the opportunity to stroll through the lush Norfolk Botanical Garden, explore the latest exhibits at the Chrysler Museum of Art, and enjoy riverfront views at Town Pointe Park. Sports is a prevalent appeal to the area, with the Norfolk Admirals hockey team playing at Scope Arena. Families appreciate the kid-friendly fun in the city, like visiting the Virginia Zoo.

Property Ratings at Wood Landing Apartments
The old property manager was good with making sure things were fixed in a timely manner. Now that Century21 has taken over, there’s a lot of miscommunication or none at all. No one should have to live with no air conditioning in the summertime because they’re going to “eventually replace all the units for the entire complex”. There’s also one small dumpster that’s emptied maybe 3 times a week so there’s usually trash all over the parking lot. They did just add more parking spots so I guess that’s a plus. I still wouldn’t recommend this place.
If you can find some place else, do it. These people do not care about their tenants. They’ve been “working” on the roof for months but have yet to fix the problem. There’s always trash around the dumpster because there’s only one for the entire complex and it isn’t emptied often enough. The walls are so thin that I can hear my neighbor snoring at night. Water is NOT included in utilities, you pay that. There is no maintenance on site. No leasing office on site. The parking sucks. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.
Don’t move here! Bugs inside & outside, to get 1 thing fixed it takes months & months since there is no maintenance on site, parking lot is not assigned parking so we all park where we can get a spot. Which more than half of us living here can’t even park in a parking spot since there is just not enough room. Meanwhile the parking lot is all torn up which is a complete mess. Was told they will be fixing it in the spring & they have yet to fix it. Property manager doesn’t care about anything or if you renew a lease only cares to pull people in to move here. Do yourself a favor & do not move here!
This place is quiet for the most part. I do like the fact that water, sewage and trash pick up is included in my monthly rent. That makes it a bit easier for me, a struggling single mother of two.
