Property Ratings at Wood Lee Arms
I’ve been living at Wood Lee Arms Apartments for three months now, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to move here. From the moment I inquired about availability, the manager, Taahira, and the maintenance engineer, Walt, went above and beyond to make the transition seamless for me and my family. We needed to move quickly, and they made it happen with ease, ensuring everything was ready and welcoming. Taahira and Walt are truly exceptional—responsive, attentive, and genuinely caring. They respond to requests the same day and consistently ensure the property is orderly, clean, and well-maintained. They also foster a strong sense of community by planning fun and engaging events that make this place feel like home. The community itself is just as wonderful. The neighbors are friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The location is another huge plus—everything we need is accessible and conveniently nearby. Wood Lee Arms has been more than just a place to live; it’s become a home for my family. I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you, Taahira and Walt, for creating such a fantastic living experience.

This is so nice to hear! Thanks for sharing that your residency has been off to a wonderful start and that our team has gone above-and-beyond to make your transition here seamless. We're so glad to have you here and to know you're loving life at Wood Lee Arms!
This buildings management is TERRIBLE! I have been waiying to get my referral money, the guy who works at office says always, " okay, i will find out and give you call" which he never does his job and come to just sit there and to look like he manages this building. OMG!!! Air conditioning is horribly bad. The trush is everywhere. Some neighbors are extremely noisy at night. This building is not worth the price i paid.

I have lived at Wood Lee Arms for three years now. I have ONLY renewed my lease due to the convenience in location and reasonable rent. There is ALWAYS an issue. Once one problem is fixed, another one emerges. Management is un-attentive and non-responsive. During pre-COVID times the office door is rarely open, and the "be back soon" sign is up 80% of the time, making it nearly impossible to pay rent on time. Ezra, the maintenance lead, is the only redeeming quality of this place. Since my maintenance requests are rarely responded to by management, and I have to submit one at least once a month, I've found it easiest to catch Ezra in the hall and he gets the job done! Packages Packages get stolen. They are dumped on the main floor of the lobby. I bought a PO BOX at the post office for $120 a year just to avoid this. It is inconvenient to drive there after work but better for the peace of mind. They purchased a locker system a month ago, and packages are still all over the lobby floor. Spiders Spider infestation in my room! I have submitted service requests on 3/10, 6/9, and 8/24 for maintenance to kill the spiders in my room. On a good day, I kill 1-2; on a bad day, I kill 5-6. They have now migrated into the living room from my bedroom. An exterminator has come twice, and the problem remains, yet there is no solution. Parking lot The parking lot entrance became destroyed Fall 2019 and remained disheveled for six-plus months!!! Pieces of the concrete spread into the road, and huge holes were missing from it. It was dangerous to drive up. Trash About a month ago, trash was not picked up for over two weeks; trash was overflowing out of the bins and surrounding area. Crows and vultures made this their new home. Light fixtures Light fixtures are continually going out. The lights in building hallway went out, and it was PITCH BLACK. We couldn't even see our doorknob to unlock our door. They did not replace them for two weeks, even with maintenance requests! When maintenance finally changed the lightbulbs a few months ago, they never put a fixture back over them! Scent The majority of the time, the main floor with the leasing office reeks, or the stairwells smell like cigarette smoke, dirty socks, and urine. DON'T DO IT!!! You'll be happy you didn't!!

The apartments I was shown was great but out of my price range . I was looking for a studio and none were available. The apartment was roomy, very clean and I could hardly hear any noise. The manager did offer to keep my information and contact me once one came open. The area is growing in terms of shops and other amenities. I would definitely rent an apartment.

Smoking. Very Old, and a frat house of college kids. Paint chipping, and carpet disgusting.
The office hours are never right. It says 10am-6pm but most of the time I walk by it is closed. I had an issue I needed to be solved and it took my 4 days till they were there in the office. They were no help and did not take responsibility for anything. This apartment complex has a lack of organization that shows clearly in their work.
Wood Lee Arms has several things going for it- far enough away from the bustle and congestion of Ballston and Clarendon but close enough to get there within 10 minutes by public transportation. Neighborhood is nice and amenities such as drugstores, liquor, grocery and convenience stores are close enough to walk to; or take a bus. Metro transportation a total plus w county ART and metro buses stopping 50 feet from the door and metro a short trip nearby. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Downside is the building- beginning is showing its age. Nice layouts but plumbing needs overhaul and is being repaired as necessary. Single elevator should be replaced. Laundry room is ok and security adequate. Nice parking lot.

We thank you for your review as we continue to provide service to our residents.
Overall I've had a positive experience with Wood Lee Arms. The application process was fairly simple and was handled quickly. The units are fairly spacious which is definitely a plus if you have roommates. Additionally, the walls seem to be thick enough to keep most noise issues to a minimum. That being said there are a few downsides. For one, there isn't much in terms of amenities. Also I would like to have more payment options for the rent. Additionally, the parking lot entrance is steep to the point that it will scratch your car's undercarriage if you don't drive in at an angle. Furthermore, my unit got some pretty serious water damage during a storm. While this couldn't have been helped, they took what I would consider to be an unreasonable amount of time to repair it. However, I con't say if this is a regular problem for most tenants or just an isolated incident. So overall, it isn't perfect, but generally I would say that it offers if reasonable for what I pay in rent. Therefore, I recommend it if your're looking for an apartment in the area.
No parking !!!!!!!! Staff unprofessional only bad things nothing good....
Apartments have a lot of space, plenty of parking in the lot, nice shops/restaurants right across the street, cheap for Arlington. There's no good way to report maintenance issues so it's a toss-up whether your problem will get fixed. Once Ezra (the maintenance guy)knows there's a problem, he will fix it.
Very clean apartment, easy access to public transportation Likes and suggestions: Good location, awesome staff!
Pros: Large apartments, plentiful parking, friendly staff, reasonable rent prices, good neighborhood. Cons: It's an old building with lots of quirks: A/C and heat break down frequently, there's water damage from the old windows that took forever to be replaced, poor ventilation, fire alarm went off every time we turned on the oven. Limited closet space as well.
I loved that the staff and management were so committed to doing their jobs well. Maintenance was timely and trustworthy, done well and thoroughly. As we lived there, the building and its grounds were improved, including the complete replacement of the laundry facilities. The entire renovation of the laundry facilities only took about a half a week and hardly inconvenienced anyone. The building manager treated us almost like family and remained professional and courteous at all times to everyone. The only complaint-worthy aspects were things outside the control of management or maintenance and were minor issues.
It is very near all goods and services, you can walk and don't need to drive. Starbucks, CVS, Chipotle and many others
The location is great and the staff is incredibly friendly and proactive.
Staff first. Availability and quick response as needed; public transportation at the doorstep. Amenities within walking distance: cleaners, drugs, deli's, beverages while gas, repair, grocery stores are a 5 minute bus ride and metro is 10 minutes.
Wood Lee Arms is in a great part of town, outside the traffic of Clarendon but close enough to get there in 5 minutes if you wanted. The staff at Woo Lee Arms are friendly and responsive. Maintenance is amazing. We loved our time at Wood Lee Arms and would have stayed longer had work permitted.
Very quiet, very close to DC driving wise, the essentials, like 7 11 and gas station and grocery store relatively close. Staff always went above and beyond.
