Property Ratings at Woodchase Apartments
I’ve lived here for 4 years. We’ve never had an issue. Anytime we put in a work order, it was completed soon if not the very next day. The management is super friendly. They’re so nice. Love the Amazon locker for packages, has made my life so much better. The pools are always clean. Rent has gone up each year, but that’s everywhere. I’m actually moving from a 2 bedroom into a 1 bedroom. I love this place. 10/10 would recommend. Don’t hesitate to apply. You won’t regret it. The bad reviews I’ve seen on here are ancient. And I guess management must have changed because I’ve never had an issue
Lived Woodchase since early 2019 - no other issues/late payments. Neighbors started smoking (not cigarettes) inside, to the extent that the smell came strongly into my unit. After repeatedly reporting it per the explicit “non indoor smoking policy” in the leasing addendum... more than six months later, the issue is still occurring at least one night per week. “Reminder emails” have been sent to our building, and I was told about “cleaning” that was supposedly done (while I was working from home, and for which no work receipt ticket was left). I’m now moving off the property (solving the problem myself) and have asked for rent compensation from the office for the last month of my stay, as the unresolved smoking is the only reason I am moving - but have been completely stonewalled. Upon my asking for a middle ground solution, the situation has now been escalated above the manager because she could “see we are not going to reach a reasonable resolution in this matter.” WOW. Was a reasonable solution offered? Does Woodchase truly “care and understand my frustration”? Is it unreasonable to ask Woodchase to uphold the standard they set - no smoking indoors? I have lived at this complex for years, but you could not tell by the way I am being treated. Classic example of a failure in customer service.
Some of the management are extremely rude, specially Kristina. they put completely irrelevant charge while moving out. And they don't have any proof to establish the charges. It is completely one-sided decision they take while putting the charges. Be-aware of staying here.
I don't live here, I wanted to but the receptionist was completely rude. I walked in the office, she was assisting someone, never said hello or a "I'll be right with you". When she finally got to me, she was very short, made me feel like I was inadequate for the property, I had to pry information from her. If she's like that with a prospect I can't imagine how she treats the residents.
Much was promised for updates-no thing yet in this late 80's complex. Cigarette smoke comes in from units surrounding this unit. Carpeting and padding are broken down and smells awful. Parking is a Bear...May have to lug groceries down the block and around the corner from apartment. Choose swimming time carefully. Want to avoid those drinking alcohol and cursing (using fowl lanuage) and smoking in recreation areas.
The title says it all. My rent is only $660. In Dallas, that's amazingly cheap. The inside looks a lot better than the outside once you get set up. I'm on the 3rd floor and there are areas where the floor is slightly uneven. That may be a deal breaker for others but I am not that picky so I got over it quick. There are some parts that need a ton of work. Hopefully they upgrade soon. It's good for the price, but if no upgrades come before my lease is up then I'll be moving elsewhere. The office staff are nice and they always dress nice too.
I signed a lease on a one bedroom apartment and liked it well enough. Here are some of the pros and cons: Pro: Value. This place is pretty cheap compared to neighboring apartments. Upgrades. The upgraded apartments are in pretty good condition. The new aplpliances are nice. Safe. This is in a pretty nice area and I have never felt the slightest bit unsafe here. Cons: Electricity. The electricity is expensive as it is, but the building is very poorly insulated. VERY POORLY. My electricity bill went from about $49 this fall to over $120 this summer. Parking. Depending on what building you live in, finding parking can be difficult at night. Pet rent. Hate the idea. Doesn't affect me personally, but this place charges a lot for a small animal. Shoddy hardware and equipment. Appliances like the garbage disposal break down constantly. Sinks are very prone to clogging and require a ton more upkeep than anywhere else I've ever lived. All in all - decent place to live. Not awesome, not horrible.
My husband and I really like where we live. The monthly rent is affordable, we have quick access to three major highways and the airport, and we have mature, green trees surrounding the apartment complex. Our neighbors are friendly and keep to themselves. Our apartment managers are respectful, helpful, and the maintenance staff respond quickly (within one to two days depending on urgency) to requests. The grocery store is only minutes away. I highly recommend our apartment complex if you're looking to live in the mid-cities area.
The staff can be rude at times, especially if you are calling to report a problem with your unit. The grounds are dirty and the outside paint is old and chipping. If something breaks, be prepared to wait weeks (or longer) for anything to get fixed. Even if it does get fixed, it's always half done and the maint. crew will leave your apartment dirty. I came home from them fixing something and they tracked dirt all over my floor and the office staff got an attitude with me when I called to report the mess they left. Poor lighting and I've had several people tell me that they have had their cars vandalized/broken into in the parking lot at night. I do not recommend this complex to anyone!!! If you are just looking for something cheap, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! This place is not worth the headache!!!!
