Property Ratings at Woodcrest Apartments
Does not have clubhouse, fitness center, or play area as advertised. End up paying a total of $150 in separate fees after the listed rent cost. Almost no maintenance. Most apartments are not updated and falling apart.
There is not a pool or fitness center but they advertise that there is... First month moving in our ceiling had a leak so bad we had to sleep in our living room for almost a month Stolen mail out of our mailbox and they do not care People constantly fighting and arguing in the parking lot at ALL hours of the day
As far as possible from these apartments. There is no cleaning. The price goes up every year, but you don't see an improvement. He says water and garbage are included, but you actually pay for it. I didn't know how many times I complained about the lack of cleanliness but in vain.
I’m mad I even had to give ONE star. Has anybody ever gotten through to the office or corporate? Has anyone ever gotten their deposit back? My toot fell in, apartment flooded, mold spores and hornets nest all in my wall, and I was still charged rent. I was FORCED to move out back in December of last year and have yet to receive my deposit back. A larger apartment is nothing on a good management and a community that cares. Everything that glitters, isn’t gold. Now I have to go through the process of a lawsuit because ROCO is trash from the head down. It’s unfortunate what a simple fix and lack of accountability has become.
Nobody mentioned the indoor pool or should I say the NEVER ENDING CEILING LEAKS NOt to mention the “crew” who came to repair it got into a fight and quit their first day on the job. Save yourself the headache and stay away. I don’t see how this place is still in business.
Horrible nasty place! Management constantly changes so when you have issues they claim to not have been aware because they are new! Repairs take months to get done and half done when they do show up! Residents let dogs ?? in the halls. This is the westland projects!
I am counting down the month unless my lease is up and I can move out! Thin walls where you can hear (and smell) everything! Neighbors who vandalize your car ($1600 worth)! Maintenance Requests that take weeks if not months to adhere too. Was out of heat for two weeks in single digits temperatures (I got physically sick from it, forced to sleep somewhere else!) Forced to pay more fees on top of rent if you work a normal 9-5 job. Massive spider issues due to close quarters with their ponds. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to live here!
While the apartment is centrally located and spacious, the staff and management are not friendly or helpful and there are many hidden fees included in the rent that you don’t know about until the rent is due. They literally changed a policy overnight and you can no longer pay rent by check or money order. You have to pay online or at Kroger, Walmart or the party store down the street and there’s an extra convenience charge for that. Plus you pay a water bill you never get to see. Forget about them ever fixing anything and it took a month for me to get a copy of my lease and I had to ask for it. Unorganized and poorly managed but I guess you get what you pay for?
If I could give this place a -1 score I would. They totally wasted my time, changed my move in dates on me multiple times, management and leasing employees were less than helpful. The applying process is so broken and unorganized. They need some serious organizational help. I applied to move there the middle of June, took 3 weeks for them to put my application in front of the manager, when the manager approved me i was given a move in date, the date continued to change. Finally got a “welcome letter” that looked like a 5 year old threw it together in excel, stating to transfer and set up utilities, Thursday (the day before I was supposed to sign my lease) all utilities were set up in my name, by 10am I received an email simply stating “Sorry we gave your apartment away, would you like a 2 bedroom?”. To say I was livid was an understatement, a truck had been rented, utilities transferred and paid for, cable/internet installation was scheduled, renters insurance was active. Completely unprofessional and untrustworthy. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to live here. No one deserves to be treated the way that they treated me. They will Bait and switch you and screw you over. RENTERS BEWARE. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!
THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX IS A JOKE. LET ME START BY SAYING INMAN IS THE BEST BUT THE REST OF THIS PLACE IS A FREAKING JOKE. THE RESIDENTS SMOKE CIGARETTES IN THE HALLWAYS. MY CARPET WAS DIRTY WHEN I MOVED IN. THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE CEILING THE DAY I MOVED IN. KIDS RUN RAPID THROUGH THE STREET. IT TOOK 2 MONTHS FOR ONE MAINTENANCE REQUEST TO GET FILLED. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. AND DONT LET ME GET STARTED ON THE ROACHES. OH AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THESE HALLWAYS ARE NEVER CLEAN. EVER. EVER EVER.
Literally moved in 2 months ago, and let me just say from the carpet to the service everything is horrible!! I needed to print something out for them and she wouldn’t even let me use their printer. I had to drive all the way to FedEx and pay to print and come back to give them the paper. I’m paying money for rent and they aren’t even trying to open the pool. The pot holes, the parking everything is so bad. Our apartment didn’t have power, water and had bugs everywhere upon move in. The maintenance guy basically lives here with us cause he’s here so much. And that’s IF he comes. Cause you have to call a bunch of times for them to take you serious. And I’m so disappointed we are stuck here a year. Maintenance is a joke it’s crazy. I have told so many friends do not come stay here and I’m so glad they listened. I feel this way after only 2months.
We found the staff to be exceptional!!!! Response time and resolution for issues we've had I rate as excellent!!!! I have found this staff to be very friendly and very compassionate!!!! We have a two bedroom, one bathroom with a gas fireplace and patio at 950 sq ft. and the rent is very reasonable especially compared to other apartments with a fireplace. I found our apartment layout provides more living space to apartments that are 1,000 sq. ft. that costs much, much more.
They have mice all the amenities they show are not true pool, gym never open or work..lots of break in office staff and maintence are horrible they had a bad sewerage back up on all 1st floor was on news never changed are just keep cleaning disgusting. I can go on and on just please don't move here you will regret it!!!.
Ignore all the beautiful pictures you see in any apartment site. There is NO pool or fitness room. Yep! They are there but the pool hasn't opened in almost 2 seasons. Only one fitness machine works but room is cold, vey cold. Security doors are always broken so anyone can enter your building. I hold my breathe when entering my common area for the stench and marijuana smell my over take me. Clean hallway? Didn't know they did that. I have constant mold that I clean daily. They show you a part of the building that was restored due to a fire in 2015. Don't be fooled that's not what your place will look like. I will be moving soon. A clue....... see how may units are for rent that should tell you something. If you can afford it find something else. If not you have been "warned".
Just moved here its very nice apartment is large and is nice and clean.
You have to wait until something is an emergency maintenance issue and then it will be PARTIALLY FIXED over the next few months. The hallways are probably cleaned once a month. Bees and wasps outside the doors a lot. Our door to the building is constantly broken. Homeless people living in their cars and on the property, which is not addressed until you personally call the police. I haven't figured out yet if the office doesn't communicate with maintenance properly or if the maintenance just doesn't do their job (all two or three of them). Personally, I haven't had an issue with maintenance besides the issues not being properly fixed - it's probably the office because they have even forgotten to send our lease to us to sign. There are dead bugs EVERYWHERE in the laundry room all year long. The fire alarm goes off in the hallway when it gets too hot from the laundry, and WHEN the washer or dryer breaks, which it will, it'll take at least a week or more to get fixed by the company. The "new" paved road already has potholes. The pool tiles are falling off. Our stove burner is broken for the fourth time this lease year. There has been a constant leak in the ceiling in our bathroom and a loud grinding pipe noise above our heads in our bedroom at night. GIANT spiders - this is not a joke. You can also expect dead bugs in your house. Poor insulation from the windows and sliding door. The screens aren't fitted so don't bother opening anything. The fireplace is useless. You can hear everything upstairs, even from the third floor. Trash is ALWAYS littered outside. Smoke is smelt in the hallway and through the vents because your vents are connected to your neighbor's. People are careless about how they park and open their car doors. Oh, and don't forget that the office doesn't answer your calls and you can go down to the office, but they will just reassure you with lies. Good luck.
I have been living in the Woodcrest Apartments going on two years. The apartment itself is very spacious and at the time the price was worth some the visible negatives like too many children who throw rocks et. where police are called on occasion. Now the unit is under new management so those present issues have blossomed. The office staff is not the most friendly. I was not informed my rent was going to increase until I was renewing my lease. The property is not well taken care of AT ALL. The apartments are in dire need of updating. The structure is wood which attracts swarms of bees where they place a brown substance to deter the bees but then is horribly unattractive as it sits near your window.
The apartment is okay but you can hear what everyone is doing in here. The building next to me had burnt down and I'm afraid that's this building is next. People can just walk into this building without a key to get in. The washing machine doesn't work and something always goes out in my aprtment.I would love to find a good apartment and a nice environment. This would help me so much because with school it can get expensive and I need the help.
I'm really loving my new place. The new management company is working on updating the property. Very spacious and quiet property.
Length of stay: we are a married couple who was looking for a moderately priced place we could move to. We moved here in 2010 and have been living here since. We just renewed our lease. Type of apartment: we rent a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, with a gas fireplace. The square footage is 950 sq ft. which is enough room for the two of us. Our building has 4 apartments, 2 upper with decks and 2 lower with patios. The laundry room is on the first floor and has 1 washer and 1 dryer. Dollar Value: we pay $690/mo for rent and $35/mo for water utility. Comparable 950 square foot, 2 bed room, 1 bath, with a gas fireplace apartments, and located close by major shopping centers we recently looked at started at $1000/mo. Neighborhood: the surrounding neighborhood is a nice working class and senior citizen area. We are walking distance from just about everything such as a major shopping mall, restaurants, services and retail stores, etc. Safety: thankfully, we have not experienced any crimes in this area. The apartment building has the typical two door entry system, one to the building, the other to your own unit. Each unit has the typical door building entry intercom system. Grounds: the property is maintained decent enough for a moderate level rental property. Our building hallway, stairs, and laundry room has been consistently cleaned weekly since we moved here 5 years ago. We have had no problems with hallway lighting in our building or with trash outside our building. Maintenance: the maintenance issues over a 5 year period were: new tiling and ceiling in bath tub/shower area due to a water leak in apartment above us, new air conditioner motor, a circuit breaker replaced, dish washer repaired, a screen patio door replaced due to geese pecking holes in the screen (our building is located off the duck pond), a new toilet seat, and a new building door lock. We have a new property management this year. The maintenance under the old and new property management has been very responsive. Office Staff: we have a new property management this year and thus far we have not had any problems with them. We did not have any problems with the old property management either. We do keep a record of all our payments and maintenance requests, which probably contributes to our having had no problems with the office staff, past and present, so far. Overall: we recommend checking out these apartments.
My apartment at the Woodcrest Apartments is sort of covenient for me because of the many businesses and restaraunt establishments in the area. This is because I have working transportation most of the time. The problem is public transportation being far away when I need to use it. As for the building itself I am still getting used to management and maintenance because of the change in ownership which happened unannounced. Things have changed but I don't know of them until I am confronted with them, such as office hours changing and rental payment methods. Overall the apartments are nice. There is a pool and a exercise room for the tenants. I still am thankful to have my apartment because I had another apartment in the same complex which was destroyed in a fire along with 16 other families. I lost everything. The former management team gave me another apartment rent free for a couple of months to give me help in getting myself back together. so though not perfect now, I am still satisfied with my apartment.
This is my first time staying at Woodcrest and I have to say that I really enjoy staying here. I live here with my fiance and its been awesome! The staff are very nice and informative. Any questions we had prior moving in were answered in detail and they made us feel welcomed! The apartment size is very spacious we have a very nice view of the woods and a bar like kitchen which is great for when we have family over. Our neighbors are friendly and its nice and quiet. Everyone is mindful of everyone, no noise complaints and we have our own little laundry room in each building. We have a very nice sized pool as well. The only reason why I rated a 4 instead of a 5 is because we are still kind of new to these apartments so I have yet to have a complaint but so far so good!!
First I live on the lower level ,not good, the tenants above have their kids running and jumping over my head; second, in the winter time, the windows and door are not properly insulated, therefore all my heat was escaping instead of keeping me warm, third, I have an Ant infestation, two types, carpenter ants and flying ants. They are every where, kitchen, bathroom and living room. I should make them pay rent! And fourth, but not the least serious, my carpet has began to take shape on its own , it has peaks and valleys, the way it has shifted, I think that the Ants have rearranged the padding!
