Property Ratings at Woodlake Townhomes & Apartments
The management is the worst I have ever seen, my oven doesn’t work over 2 weeks, heater not working, very often no hot water during winter time. When you call no one. Answers the phone, after 10 calas might reach someone to request maintenance then have to wait 3 days to a week if someone help you. Cockroach is everywhere no matter what you do can’t kill them. 2 times broken in my mailbox... Can’t wait my contract over to move out of here...
The cockroaches every where there big and scary and if i ask for treatment the charge me extra
I recently moved for these aprts and so far I find it a quiet and friendly place with the improvements the complex has changed a lot
This place is a joke and you will be paying bill for a roommate ( roaches). Maintenance people service sucks, the office manager and the staff don’t care about anything, they just look at you like you stupid and they will have you pay for trash pick up and they don’t come pick up the trash, they have you pay for pest control and don’t do noting about it bugs you have in your house. And you have growing mold in your apartment. And most important things they will do anything take your deposit when your lease is up. Noting is so luxury about these apartments at all!!! I’m telling you now you be paying a lot of money for noting. RUN AWAY FROM THESE APARTMENTS.
Property Manager at Woodlake Townhomes & Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hello, We are saddened to hear of your negative experience at our property. Please come by the leasing office so that we can further discuss. Thank you, Woodlake
New management does nothing but write on a notepad and does nothing to resolve issues pertaining to the facility she is “running”. They claim the old management stole from the company, so I can only assume this is backlash towards the renters. We have not had no A.C. for about two months now, all they did was put in a window unit for the room that does not cool off anything else. Worst year living here to date mind you I have been here for about 3 years.
I treated pretty fairly by the staff.. like another resident said if you need some where to lay your head in between getting your finances together this a temporary fix. They are clearly not in the business of upgrades. Lots activity with neighbors at evening hours loudly exchanging war stories. I know I won't be here long. No grass, no flowers barely any trees. Kind of mundane. I never seen a wood painted medicine cabinet.
I move to Woodlake Townhomes Apts. in 2005 until 2012. I moved back in the summer of 2014 the reason being is that the staff there are nice, friendly & will to go above & beyond for their residents. Its very quite, peaceful & in the middle of shopping centers, gas stations, restaurants you name it, you gonna find what you looking for. They have a nice pool, fitness center & a large tennis court if you love to play tennis. Its unlike any other apartment complexes I lived in.
Ok, so I was on on a budget, and due to my precarious finances I wasn't even sure I could afford any apartment. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place. It's older, built in the 70's I suppose, but appeared to be well maintained. Also they approved me where others couldn't figure it out. So now I have a cozy 1 bedroom not too far from all the important locations in Houston. One thing I like about this place is that unlike some other “thrifty” apartment complexes, they do not favor one ethnic group over another. In fact I think they try to have a good mix: white, black, Latino, Arab, Chinese, etc., we’re all here. In other words, just like Houston as a whole. As long as you pass the background check and look like you can come up with the money, you’re in. The first chink in the armour came when I realized how close I am to the trash chute, and thus the dumpster, and thus the roaches. They conveniently steered me away from these lovely things whem I was being shown around. And of course I have neighbors that cannot go down a flight or two of stairs when their bag does not fit into the chute, so they just leave it sitting nearby. Slowly over the next few weeks I noticed other unfortunate aspects as well. Like there is almost no grass. In the places where there is not pavement it’s pretty much dust blowin in the wind. Also the attitude of the office staff could use some improvement. When I was near the office using the “business center” I needed to use the restroom, however I was told that they were not for residents use. Seems like they view the residents as a class below, i.e. those dirty people that we take the money from. The pool looks nice, but when it was opened it was immediately overrun by kids, and since there is no bathroom there either, I suppose they are all peeing in the pool. The office finally came out with a notice about this 2/3 though the summer telling parents to monitor their children. What, didn’t they know about the situation from last year? The parking situation is tight. They are trying to get it under control. We will see how that goes. The other thing is I get the feeling there is a general unwillingness to spend any money on the complex at all. So here is the summary: Pros: Well maintained, Tennis courts, good mix of people, location, inexpensive. Cons: Trash situation, roaches (at least for me), attitude of the office staff (some are better than others), crumbling in places, dirty parking garage (don’t look up)
I've lived in my apt. for almost 2 1/2 years, and its been and up and down roller-coaster with this property. First the parking was first come first served, but that changed and it's one spot per apt. and that means a lot of people are parking on the street. the visitors parking is not so great either. my next problem was the condition on the apt. when I was moving in. it was sloppy, I had no fridge for 2 days. I did like that they gave me a new stove, fridge, new toilet, and two new sinks, after I had complained. The water is turned off a lot for "emergencies" it always seems, and the foundation on the "high rise" looks like it wants to collapse. The management was pretty bad at first, but they have improved since I've lived here. I love the location, because it's near my work and everything really, but the rent is not worth it anymore for me. You will be paying well over a $1 per sqft.
I've been at woodlake townhomes for about 7 months. I've really enjoyed the property and the staff. Anytime I've needed help they've been accommodating. The property is a little run down, but they take care of any concerns maintenance pretty well in my case. The townhomes are very large and spacious. The fire places are a plus.
