Set between the Susquehanna River and the Pennsylvania Turnpike on the east side of Harrisburg International Airport, Middletown is a modern community with a charming historic aesthetic. The area along Swatara Creek is full of charming homes, apartments, and businesses in a variety of architectural styles, and there are popular bars and cafes to enjoy too.
There’s a vibrant community in this compact locale, and it comes together for plenty of annual events and local football games. If you travel often for work you’ll find Middletown ideal, as the airport is only minutes away. Harrisburg, with all of its museums and conveniences, is just 10 miles northwest.

Property Ratings at Woodland Hills Apartments
This complex is getting 2 stars, rather than 1, simply for the apartment manager, Kelsey. She started over the summer in 2020, and truly, she is one of the only good aspects of my experience. However, a good manager cannot make up for the serious flaws of this apartment complex. The major issues are noise & parking. You can hear everything from the apartment above you. They want to drink and play music? You get to be a part of the party. They have a dog? You get all the noise of that dog running around or barking. To make things worse, this complex decided to put a grill and fire pit area between building 100 and 110. The apartments adjacent to the fire pit and grill area get to hear everything happening on the patio, which is accessible 24/7 and has no hour limitation. Parking was poorly planned. There are not nearly enough spots for the number of residents, and there is no limit on the number of cars an apartment can have. The complex has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to mitigate this issue. People park wherever they want and make their own spots, blocking or decreasing visibility in the roadways. If you don’t make your own parking space, you will likely need to walk a good distance (especially if you are in building 100 or 110) to get to your building if you come back after normal work hours. In addition to those big issues, some other concerns are that trash is often all over the place because the dumpsters and recycling bins fill up and then people just leave their trash on the ground, many residents do not clean up dog waste, it is pricey compared to other similar places in the area, and its proximity to the turnpike makes for added noise. All in all, this place is 100% not worth the price. Look elsewhere if you can.
