Property Ratings at Woodland Plaza Apartments
First ever review on anything, so heed my words. The staff at this place is absolutely awful. I have been living here for 2 years and I have never been late on a payment. This month, I had two erroneous charges totaling 500 dollars added to my rent. I spoke to a member of the staff 2 days before the rent was due. The member of the staff here, of course, couldn't answer my question or help me. Sean, I later found out his name, told me to wait until Monday after the payment was due, I asked if I should just pay it and get reimbursed. He told me no, and to wait until I spoke to someone on monday. When I went to speak to the office I spoke to the property manager Karyn. THE FIRST THING I TOLD HER after she removed the two erroneous charges was I didn't want this to show as a late payment. She calculated the payment for me since the app I use to pay the rent takes a little while to update. I was going to pay the amount owed before my total was updated. She gave me the total, which seemed off when I got back to my car. I went back in and asked her why it was 50 more than I calculated it out to be. She said it was from the late charge she didn't remove while giving me a condescending look and then acted like I never told her to remove the charge. Like I would lie about Sean the staff member I talked to on Saturday telling me to wait, listen, I have money, believe me. Other than that, the place is pretty nice. If you have a two car household you're screwed if you come home after 11pm due to the guy with the car dealership that lives near me bringing his cars home because he ran out of space at his lot. Also, you cant sit a trash bag on your porch without them freaking out and if you dont put your bags in the dumpster, which is always overflowing, you get a nasty gram through your mail slot. How about spending more time on the landscaping outside my place which has been mud for the last 7 months. Whoever read this whole thing take it seriously, I was greeted with a smile when I first moved in and now it's just awful. They treat you like you're the enemy and not their customer.
Living here is extremely convenient, I can walk right across the street to the mall, drive 2 minutes to other shopping centers, and I am even able to walk to work because it is so close. The area is also very safe, and I feel comfortable walking my dog at night. BUT, the management is not very good. They do not notify us of anything!! The parking lot was closed for weeks without notice and I was stuck parking at the mall everyday. When I called management asking about this, he had no idea what I was talking about! And the water has been shut off several times without notice. If gas and utilities were included then I would not complain at all. But high rent utilities gas makes this place extremely expensive.
I lived here for two years and some problems here and there but it was still okay. UNTIL it was bought over buy the new Westover company. The management is terrible. They just do anything without noticing their residents. I'm shocked when come back at night and find the parking lot is closed and filled with construction equipment without any prior notice!!! Thank god my lease is ending.
This complex is in the absolute center of everything you would possibly ever need. Within walking distance of shopping malls and top-notch restaurants, you have the world in the palm of your hand. You can enjoy the pool in the summertime or walk to Wyomissing Park down the street, or take a 10 minute drive North to Blue Marsh Recreation Area to swim, hike or fish. Every and any major nightlife hot spot or dining spot is all within a 10 minute drive of this location. However, I advise anyone that calls this place their home to stay locked in before rental rates spike or drastically fluctuate from your initial sign-on. Overall amenities are great, and the maintenance crew is always more than helpful and accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend this location to anyone new to the area.
