Property Ratings at Woodland Ridge
My girls and I absolutely love the events that the amazing staff put on for the residents of Woodland Ridge Apartments! The most recent “waffle bar” was a hit for many! It’s always fun to stop by the clubhouse…whether it’s to shoot a game of pool, swim, or join in on a fun event. I love that the staff here take the time and effort to make this available to us here!

Woodland Ridge is tucked back in a wooded paradise, full of wild life and fabulous amenities. The buildings are spaced out and its doesn't feel like you are on top of each other. The Property Manager, Sally, is so tentative to the property and its residents. Staff in the office is overall fabulous as well.

Lived here for a year. Parking was horrible! Half the time had to park all the way acrosed the complexes just to find a spot. Then I got a notice from the employees stuck to my window stating I wasn't authorized to park in that area "they stuck it right in my driver's view". Got sent to basic training "which I notified them" and they towed my truck for being abandoned??? Apartment was trashed and wasn't properly fixed ahead of my move in date. When I notified them the day I moved in. I was promised repairs would be made... nothing was fixed and they billed me for the repairs once I left!!

I've been a resident of Woodland Ridge Apartments for 6 years and this was best decision I've made regarding housing. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Maintenance is prompt and ultra-efficient. Grounds are beautifully maintained and there are always lots of special activities for the residents. Nice quiet place to live. Parking is never a problem.

I fell in love with the community when I first visited as it had all of the amenities that I wanted and was in a beautiful location. However I had asked to see my unit before my move-in date and was not able to; the day it would be ready kept getting pushed back until I was there to sign the lease. I also had to continuously call and email about errors in my reservation agreement, which were ignored. So the day I signed my lease they had to write up an addendum to the lease and have me come back in to sign that as well. The apartment felt like the previous tenant did the bare minimum to get their security deposit back and then the unit was not cleaned after that. (Spiderwebs in the light fixtures, crumbs on the counters, grease on the stove top, bugs inside the screen door track.) I also had to contact maintenance twice within the first week of living there and have three more problems that I still need fixed. I had very high hopes for this place before I moved in and just keep finding more things that disappoint me. (No cell service throughout most of the complex and the bark park has a swamp in the middle of it!) It could be worse but I’ve also rented from much better. It’s just ok.

After many years of home ownership, I opted to transition into apartment living, which I expected to be a challenge in some ways. I believe that finding this beautiful development was divine intervention, because it is tucked away and almost hidden, yet close to the lake, with amazing green space- many local friends never knew it even existed! The residents and staff are all friendly and kind-and unlike other developments, there is a range in ages, including sweet families. It feels more like a neighborhood than an apartment complex. The pool, tennis court, clubhouse, mailroom, fitness center and grounds are maintained perfectly. Grand Haven's North Beach is a 20 minute hike from my back door and the trails are perfect for my dog and I. The bike path is just as close and takes me on a loop around Spring Lake, down by the docks and back home. I feel like I live in a park. If you are active, love serenity, desire the amenities, have a pet...and want to feel "at home"- this is the perfect place!

We have been impressed by the upkeep of the grounds and the clubhouse. The office staff has been both professional and very helpful through the whole process of getting our apartment. Our apartment was clean and has been well kept. We have been in Woodland Ridge for about 3 weeks and we have already recommended it to a family member. Dan and Lisa Gentz
Been living here for almost 3 years. For the most part it has been great. Love the area and being only a few minutes from the beach!
Nestled in the woods and a mile away from North Beach. Tons of hiking trails abutting the complex. Truly enjoyed my 1 year's time here. Felt very safe as a single woman. Convenient gym within the complex and lovely staff. Only issue here was cell service (due to it's location surrounded by trees) but remedied it with a Microcell device through AT&T.
The Dunes of Lake Michigan are a natural wonder and are spectacular in all 4 Seasons. My Apartment - Woodland Ridge - is right in the middle of the North Ottawa Dunes Preserve and minutes away from beautiful Lake Michigan. Woodland Ridge has it all - Dunes, Woods, Ponds, Pool, Club House, Fitness Center, well maintained Landscaped and Natural Areas and a Community Garden. There are many activities- Book Club, Gaming, Children's Activities, Garden Group, Senior Group, Sports and a once-a-month Free Dinner for all Residents. Public Transportation comes right to your door with a quick call. My 3 Bedroom Apartment is roomy and attractive. My Patio looks out onto a wild and protected wood...a Naturalist's dream. Maintenance is never an issue - just another quick call to the professional staff. Even Jeff Goldblum would want to live here ...

This is a very secure and well kept place to live, especially for me being a widow and unable to keep up a house any longer. I never thought I would like living in an apartment, but have now recomended this complex to many of people. I always thought renting was more expensive, but have now completely changed my mind on that also. Woodland Ridge is very well kept up and has plenty of activities and treats it residents very personabalie. Any Problems are attended to in a timley matter and it is very quiet and relaxing. It has everything to experence from pool, tennis court , volly ball court, fire pit and park. The location is great for all with buses availaable to shopping and doctor appoitments. Lake Mihigan in walking distance through the hiking trails of Northsore Park. every where you go there is nice wide bicking trails. This apartment has wor my heart for there is always something to do, even if you have to do it by yourself.
I have lived at Woodland Ridge for 7 months. It is overall pretty good. The ups: Walking distance to Lake Michigan It feels safe (background checks on residents) Maintenance is fast Apartments are clean Office staff is friendly A good place for families The downs: Tons of little kids The kids are loud The kids want to talk to you when you are walking your unruly dog It is pricey Overall, I recommend the place. I have not lived in an apartment complex in years. This place is pretty comfortable.
Woodland Ridge Apartments is perfect for pet owners, kids and people who love the outdoors! They have a Dog Park, Workout facility, Heated Pool, Fire Pit, (free wood!) Community Garden, Playground, Tennis Courts, and a Basketball Hoops! The clubhouse Includes Cable TV, Computers with Internet Access, WIFI, a Pool Table, Video game consoles and free beverages. I personally love that I can walk right to Lake Michigan! The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. My apartment was very clean upon move in. New carpet and Paint. The office puts on Resident appreciation nights and makes everyone really feel at home! I would recommend this complex to anyone 100 times!
Woodland Ridge is a community where one can easily feel at home. The grounds are well kept and the interior is spacious! Pool is heated and clubhouse is beautiful!
After my divorce I needed a safe place for my son and me. This place is safe, cute, close to local shopping and attractions. Whether I want to spend time in Grand Haven, Spring Lake or Muskegon. Great swimming pool, walking path's. Maintenance is prompt. I couldn't have asked for much more.
We have been living at Woodland Ridge for four months and love it. The location is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the lakeside. The complex offers a lot to do, and has everything from a well kept pool, firpit, tennis court, and dog park. As for the apartment itself we feel that it is spacious and fits our needs. Come live at Woodland Ridge!
The apartments are pretty nice, but it's not the apartments that sell it, it's the lifestyle. We have the pool, fitness center, tennis courts, volleyball court, playgrounds, and easy access to Lake Michigan just two miles away. Living in this location is perfect. Our family is very happy to live here. The rent is a little high, but that's part of living exactly where you want to live.
I can't really compare this with other apartments, since it's my first, but for an apartment it could be worse. The trim is actually wood, the carpet was new when we moved in, and our unit has a large balcony overlooking a small pond. This is a great location if you enjoy the outdoors because the property butts up against a wood full of trails and is nestled just out of town in the dunes. There's a 24/7 fitness room, heated pool in season, dog park, and two playgrounds for kids. The office staff is friendly and helpful, and maintenance is knowledgeable. Ownership has recently changed hands, but it seemed a smooth transition. The only affect on the residents has been to take the club house from 24/7 access to 9am-9pm access. The price is comparable for housing of this quality, in other words, you get what you pay for.
Woodland Ridge is located on the beautiful west coast of Michigan. Tucked away in the dunes just in between two excellent and welcoming West Michigan towns, Woodland Ridge provides an exclusive living experience without the high price of similar locales. Just a mile from the beach with family friendly amenities, such as a pool, 24-7 clubhouse access, a dog park and cozy areas to gather with friends, family and guests Woodland Ridge is an excellent place to come and enjoy all of the pleasures and satisfaction that come with living in West Michigan. I'd highly recommend it.
Very high quality of an apartment at a great price. It is very peaceful with great landscaping. If you enjoy the sand dunes and going to the beach, this is your place. You are five minutes from Grand Haven, and a mile hike through the North Ottawa Dunes to get to the North Beach. Only downsides would be zero cell phone service so you have to buy a booster, and the fitness center is tiny. I would recommend these apartments to anyone.
We did a lot of research before moving into Woodland Ridge. We found that it is the best bang for the buck especially if you are looking to have washer/dryer and a dishwasher in the apartment. The sound from upstairs/downstairs people is more dampened than other apartment complexes. They are also very prompt at fixing problems and making sure you are happy with what you are getting.
Apartments are great! They're super close to the lake, you have a lot of privacy, and there are several great amenities for tenants to use. The apartment itself is on the smaller side, but there's still plenty of space! The kitchen is really nice with good appliances and plenty of cupboard space. Bottom line- I couldn't have picked a better, cozier apartment1
These apartments are really nice with a lot of privacy. It's very peaceful and in a great location. It's just a short walk away from Lake Michigan. There are also a lot of amenities for the tenants to use. The only downside is there is poor cell phone service.
I've been at Woodland Ridge for ten months now, and have no plan of leaving any time soon. I have NEVER lived in such an amazing apartment complex and community! Major selling points for me were the huge balcony, bay window, large kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, and garage! Also, even though I'm single with no pets, I love that this complex is swarming with dogs and kids (especially in the summer time)! And yet, I've never experienced noise problems. The maintenance staff is incredible and quick, and the clubhouse hosts all these clubs, events, free dinners, s'more nights, craft nights, etc. There are also incredible trails through the woods that lead to Lake Michigan as well an excellent workout facility. The ONLY negative thing I have to say about this place AT ALL is that it can be tough to get a phone signal since we are surrounded by sand dunes. But don't let that stop you. Kick it old school and get a home phone, yo! It costs nothing, and you can still send and receive texts just fine. Living at Woodland Ridge is definitely a bang for your buck! Do it. Come be my neighbor.
The apartment itself is nice. Anytime I have an issue, matenince is just a call away. The neighbors can be quite loud at times as well though. Trash area should be cleaned up, pool house and clubhouse need to be cleaned up and stocked as well. Thanks!
Woodland ridge apartments are definitely one of the best apartments I have seen in a while. All the staff members are very friendly. Having a pool is awesome as well!
The location of the apartment is perfect! The apartment complex has the feel of being secluded, but you are still only minutes away from anything you might need. The view out of the apartments is into wooded areas or other natural areas. The rent is fair, especially for the area, and maintenance is good at fixing problems quickly. All of the staff the staff is amazing and is great at answering any questions you might have. There are always events happening at the club house and if you want you can take a dip in the pool, or take a short trip to Lake Michigan itself. It's a great place to unwind after a long day of work without all the noise of the city, but still close to all the action for your weekend fun.
I currently live in Woodland Ridge Apartments which will be my third time living here; two seperate occasions as a child with my father. I really enjoy living here, it is quiet and secluded back in the dunes close to Lake Michigan. It's beautiful and I have a great view, as well as walking distance to Coast Guard Park and North Shore beach. I would recommend these apartments to anyone, just about anyone's needs/wants can be satisfied here.
I love living in woodland ridge apartments.these apartments are very nice for how much the rent is. Having a maitnence crew at your service when ever you need it makes the experience so much better. The employees are always smiling and ready to help with your needs. This is my first apartment and first step into the adult world. I am glad I chose woodland ridge to share this great memory and experience with.
Woodland Ridge is one of the nicest places I've lived and trust me, I have lived in my fair share of apartments! The location is perfect for those who love a nature setting with lots of wooded areas and wildlife visiting the pond in our (backyard). The management team, a well as the maintenance crew, are very professional, friendly and quick to assist if there is an issue. There are lots of amenities and activities for the residents to get involved in. Just a few of the many reasons why I love living at Woodland Ridge!
Driving to this destination causes relaxation one step at a time. Depending from which direction you approach, there are layers of transition from the traffic arteries of the city to village to field to country to forrest to “Home”! The feel of quiet mountain retreat permeates the very fiber of your awareness. A casual drive through the enclave reveals the semi secluded nature to enjoy while assuring the security of civilization. At this point you’ve already forgotten the unpleasant events of the day when you drive by the inviting club house with fireplace, overstuffed furniture, full kitchen, pool table and adjacent pool with “living room” style furniture with natural gas fire braziers located under a comforting pergola! You continue your drive and maybe decide to vacuum your automobile in the car care nook before parking it in your garage. Walking the few steps from your garage to your front door you’re washed by the cleansing nature of fresh air washed by Lake Michigan then filtered by the forested dunes. All this and playground, picnic area with grill, large fire pit in a park like setting as well as a bark park for your best friend and a sand volley ball court adjacent to the various walking trails through the surrounding forested hills. Maybe you’ll feel like using the exercise facility after dinner or maybe before breakfast . . . regardless . . . you’re home . . . at last! This has got to be as close to vacation living as an apartment complex can get!!
Love the location & amenities! Rent is resonable for the location and utilities are cheap! They take great care of the place and it is great that they are so pet friendly.
An estately entrance and location buried in the woodland dunes just moments from pristine Lake Michigan beaches and amazing trail system and only minutes to any convienance you desire. Immense amenities abound with clubhouse, pool, parks, playgrounds. My home is amazingly quite and perfectly maintained like it is brand new. A Wonderful and spacious covered deck with front row seats to incredible bird and wildlife. If you are moving to west michigan no place around comes close to home.
Our apartments are wonderful. I love raising my family there. We have friendly neighbors and staff and we always feel safe. The apartments aren't huge, but they are pleasant to live in and the amenities make it feel like living in a resort. Also, living two miles from Lake Michigan is definitely a bonus. We are within a few minutes drive of Grand Haven, Ferrysburg, Spring Lake, and Norton Shores so everything we need is nearby. The schools are excellent and you have the choices of public, charter, and Montessori all for free! We love living at Woodland Ridge, it's a perfect fit for our family.
In general I enjoy our apartment a lot. Woodland Ridge has a wonderful, laid back atmosphere. The apartment buildings are spread out, and each building only has 16 units to it.There are woods and/or large grassy areas with trees next to each building, which are great areas for me to take the dog out. I also see children playing all the time- there is plenty of space for them to play games outside. There is a beautiful pool with modern furniture and a clubhouse with games. There is also a large area with multiple grills and a playground. I always feel safe when I go running around the neighborhood here. There are even trails right behind our complex to walk the dog or take a hike. The beach is less than a mile away. The maintence man here is extremely friendly and quick to respond to any of our concerns. There were a few things wrong in our apartment when we first moved in, but they are minor cosmetic or inconveinces. Occasionally when I walk to dog every area that provides bags to pick up his "droppings" will be out, which has been a big inconveince. It will take days for the bags to be refilled, and I will have to supply my own bags. Sometimes I have to take the dog home and walk back to where he was to pick it up. Many residents do not have the same courtesy and simply leave it there. The dog park here is also extremely over grown with weeds, bushes, and poisy ivy; a tick haven. There is a sewage run off from it, and many of the dogs that live here have gotten extremely sick from that. I do, however, understand that these are specific issues to people who own dogs. However, with dog excrement being all over Woodland Ridge, it kind of affects everyone. In general I am very glad we have choosen Woodland Ridge. It is at a very peaceful, secluded location. There are many ammenities provided, such as a beautiful pool and clubhouse. Each month new activities and treats are passed out. In the winter they do a pretty good job of keeping everything shoveled. There are a few things that I would change and I do believe rent is way over priced for what you get. I would recommend living here to friend, as long as a knew they weren't on a tight budget.
I have lived at Woodland Ridge in Spring Lake, MI for 3 years. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the staff by name and participated in many community held events. The garbage area was generally kept clean, maintenance was quick, and snow removal seemed to happen often in the winter time. Within the year the apartments have switched ownership; events are rarely held, office staff isn't as friendly (they don't know you by name or apartment #), garbage area is a mess, and maintenance is difficult to get a hold of. The complex itself is pretty nice; hiking trails through the sand dunes are right in your backyard, the apartments are less than 1 mile from a great Lake Michigan beach, there is a pool, fire pit, and a new bike path for trips into town (3 or so miles from Spring Lake & Grand Haven). The units seem fairly new, having a patio/deck is nice, but updates should be done to flooring and carpeting more regularly. To wrap up, the location and amenities are nice; the staff could definitely give better customer service.
Woodland Ridge Apartments is a great place to live. A very quiet community with amazing amenities including a pool, club house, billiards and more! Every week includes several community events to participate in. We have lived here for four years and have had only positive experiences. We endorse Woodland Ridge Apartments 100%!
I have lived at Woodland Ridge for three years, and I absolutely love it. I rave to everyone who's in search for an apartment about where I live. The buildings are well made and very quiet, and the people are great. From the quiet and remote location tucked away in the dunes, to the extremely friendly and always helpful staff of the community, there is no better place to call home. It has the best community, cleanest and most maintained grounds of any apartment community in West Michigan. You should definitely come see for yourself.
It is grate, haves a lot of trees. The apt. is very clean , has nice patio. Has a club house with a pool.It has fire pit, with table and bunches. Has trail to walk To lake Michigan it is one mile. They have dinners once in a wail for the renters.
My husband and I both like to spend time outdoors and our apartment of 3 years and provided a good space for that with a pool, nature trails, and proximity to the beach. I also appreciate the workout room. The apartment complex has a new management company as of last year, however, and we've noticed a few negative changes since this. The upkeep of grounds and amenities is lacking and our rent increase $25/mo. We'll see if this trend continues.
This is a great place to live. It's quiet, well-maintained, with lots of green space. And the management is both friendly - there are frequent resident events - and responsive. But what's really impressive is how responsive the management is. I've had a couple of problems - with the garbage disposal and the clothes dryer - and they were taken care of immediately. The common spaces are extraordinary - a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, tennis court, picnic area, dog park, and community garden. And the rent is fair. Did I mention this is a great place to live...?
We have been living at Woodland Ridge for almost a year and have been very satisfied with our experience. We have two large dogs and love the areas that are designated for them including a dog park. The special events that are planned for residents make us feel very welcome. The grounds and building are always well-cared for. We enjoy living here very much!
My apartment at Woodland Ridge was clean and impeccably maintained when I moved in. The maintenance and leasing staff are very responsive and friendly when attending to any need I have. The amenity list is extensive from a fitness center, community garden, hiking trails, beach volley ball, fire pit, community park, club house, sparkling pool, onsite car wash and vacuum station, full size washer and dryer, garage parking option, and beautifully maintained safe grounds where running and biking are easy and fun. In the evenings, I can enjoy a glass of wine on my oversize balcony and watch a beautiful sunset over the dunes. To top it off...Woodland Ridge offers a sense of community like no other apartment complex. My neighbors are friendly and the community sponsored social events are awesome too! Living at Woodland Ridge is more than just renting an apartment...it's like getting a little piece of paradise!
These apartments are beautiful and in a great area, however the Managment team had taken away all of the luxury of living here. Pool hours have been cut shorter because they don't want to pay staff to stay an hour longer. It now closes at 10 which for most people who work until 5-6 o'clock, by the time dinner is made there is no time to enjoy the pool anymore. Same with their clubhouse, they changed hours from being 24/7 to closing at 9. You can no longer use the clubhouse's big screen tv to watch a football game because they will kick you out. They do not allow printing in the office because they downgraded printers, residents now have to pay to go to staples or ups store. Lastly the staff is rude. They are short when you call them in the office and maintenance doesn't care about their work. Team members who close the pool have been so rude as to laugh at residents who were upset about the pool hours. All in all I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Great apartment with tons of amenities. Tucked in the sand dunes of Lake Michigan, with great hiking trails to different beaches in Grand Haven. Dog friendly, which keeps us a close knit community of dog lovers.
I moved here from the East side of the state after completing college. Ever since I started my career on the west side of the state I have loved every minute of it. What makes it great is that I have a great apartment to come home to every night. Woodland Ridge is very safe and affordable. When a light goes out it usually only takes a couple of days for them to fix it. Which is pretty normal since they have so many other things to do. The office staff treats you really good to. For the most part they know you by name and sometimes last name which is really nice. The clubhouse has so many different activities you can do and a activities calendar comes out every month. Overall this is a great apartment and place to to live.
I have loved living at the Woodland Ridge Apartments in Spring Lake, Michigan. First of all, it is in a great area! Right behind my apartment is a pathway of trails leading to Lake Michigan (and the beach). Being between two larger towns of Spring Lake and Grand Haven means there is a lot to do! The apartments themselves are great. I love having a balcony that faces the woods. I also love having a washer and dryer in my apartment to use. If I have had any trouble with anything, a simple email to maintenance will have the problem resolved in 1-2 days. The staff here is extremely friendly as well! They know the residents by name and have special monthly activities planned- like a free dinner for residents every month! I would highly recommend these apartments. I am very impressed with the service, location, and quality and this place feels like home.
Woodland Ridge apartments offer an appealing apartment atmosphere while at the same time feeling like home. From their family friendly clubhouse to quick access to the beach make it a spot for all ages to enjoy.
