As far as distance goes, District Heights is less than 10 miles from the heart of DC. But the landscape couldn't be more different -- instead of monuments, there are trees. In place of politicians in suits, there are kids riding bicycles. District Heights is southeast of Washington, DC -- just follow Pennsylvania Avenue toward I-495.
Sports lovers will appreciate District Heights apartments for the proximity they'll enjoy to FedEx Field, which is only about three miles north. In addition to being the home field of the NFL's Washington Redskins, FedEx Field also hosts concerts and other events. District Heights residents enjoy easy access to nearby Joint Base Andrews, located just south of the city.

Property Ratings at Woodland Springs
I have been living here for almost 2 years & there has been a constant roach & mice problem ! I am getting sick of it & it’s very disrespectful because the management & maintenance haven’t done anything !
Management is terrible. They are all unprofessional and speak to you with a fake smile and attitude. There are always crowds of people hanging out, drinking and doing drugs in front of the buildings. They have cameras but choose to let these people stay. A bullet went through my daughter's bedroom window 3 months after I moved in and all they had to say was sorry. Two drive-by shootings and one murder has happened directly in front of my building since I moved in. Don't move here unless you want your place to smell like marijuana everyday from people smoking in the hallways and in their apartments.
I have been living here since August 2018, and notice mice in my apartment in September. I contacted management and corporate and still nothing has changed. The exterminators come and put one trap down and say they can’t move anything or seal holes without maintenance. I’ve been putting my name on the maintenance list every week still nothing. They come by and drop off a few sticky pads but never come in and put them down, and everytime I ask them bout my work orders they say they never got them. It’s now July and the issue is getting worst. The three buildings beside me are also mice invested and management is doing nothing but making excuse about getting new exterminators to do a clean out which has yet happened, and I was told that in May. Management always working on fixing the apartments for new residents to move in but not focused on the current residents issues because soon they will have mice problems that won’t get handled as well.
If I could give no stars I would, This was my 1st apt. When I 1st applied I had to stay on top of them in order to get anything done. When I moved in they gave me a list to check off items that I found that needed to be fix. After returning the check list to the office it took maintenance about a month to complete the things that needed to be replaced or fixed. I then came to realize that maintenance is lazy and don't do anything. In the last 2 months I have had an Ant problem witch maintenance has came out for about 3 times already and still nothing has changed. I had a bat in my wall witch came in from an opening in the roof. I was unable to sleep in my unit because of the noise coming from the bet. When I called the office they told me that it wasn't a bet. However, never the lest I wanted the thing removed from my unit so I could get back to sleeping in my own home. I had to call the office/ maintenance at least 4 to 5 times before they told me that somebody would come out to take a look at it. After about 3 days maintenance finally came out only to tell me that I would have to wait until next week from them to get a contractor out and would have to put a whole in my wall so that the bet cam fly out. By this time I am frustrated and sleeping at a family members house. Nobody ever came out to put a whole in my wall nor get the bet. Luckily the bat found its way out. Needless to say, the office/ maintenance was useless. My building is always dirty but as management they should have a company come out to clean the builders witch they do but they come every once in a month (maybe). They lost my rent TWICE then had the nerve to try and charge me a late fee. Every time I go in the office there is somebody new, they cant never keep the same employees. What ever you do DONT move into the buildings in the front by the leasing office. There is always people hanging out front of the buildings and two teen boys where killed in that location. The walls are extra thin you can hear everything that's going on in the unit next to you. The office NEVER answer the phones when you call. They always changing office hours to some crazy times. Residents let their bad little kids run the streets. One of the kids set the playground on fire across from my building. I wont be renewing my lease. If I could break my lease to move after 5 months I would.
the property manager there now don't care about the property, camera's supposed to be working, boys smoking weed and gambling outside, police supposed to be present never there. shooting and all place getting worst by the minute, we need the old management back Lisa and Dexter, they screw your paper work up bad. when you complain property manager goes ok never do nothing bout it. lady at the front desk Eboni never speaks unprofessional. farther more the property would be great if management stay on top of the property letting guys smoke weed and gamble not good. she never come out the office and check on her property. she got camera's look on them she would see what's going on around there. we need more armed security or 24hr policing. I need to contact the head people in New York to do something about management.
The property management sucks. They don't return your phone calls. My building hasn't been cleaned in a month. I called the office twice to complain about my building not being cleaned. Still haven't came to clean it yet. The construction company that runs the construction sucks too. I took off work twice for them to do my kitchen and bathroom and they still haven't done it yet. It's been since April. They have no idea what work has been done or not. I'm so ready to move. The adults and teenagers took over the playgrounds to smoke their drugs. It's not safe for your child to go to the playground. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
I love my spacious one bedroom, especially my kitchen this country kitchen is the best kitchen ever. Oh, my bathroom large big with beautiful sunlight coming through, I just simply love having windows throughout the apartment. No bugs, roaches and no rodents running around. A smoke free complex, washer/dryers on the property, maintenance has never been better they come out in a timely matter. Play area for your children, security cameras, Pg county police pro trolling the complex, and all new changes are under way, don't miss out come join the family, speak to a friendly staff team member.
I have lived in three other apartment complexes in the last fifteen years, and by far, Woodland Springs is the best. They have great community features. The staff are very helpful. The apartments are bug and rodent free! The kitchens and bathrooms are spacious. They now have workout equipment right down the street. You don't need to pay for you workouts anymore. I'm within walking distance to many stores. They also have bus stops throughout the complex. I love everything about it.
Its Ratchet , the keep breaking the locks on the front door, Lights in the hall way are out at times . floors in halls are dirty . trash in the parking lot. Them damm kids be peeping in the pool and need new windows and screens floors are old and squreckey and the wall are very thin.
The apartments are spacious. I really like how the rental office has so many things for the residents to do. They have summer camp, yoga, swimming pool, fitness trail, and so may other things.
Woodland Springs use to be a good place to live. But now that they are under new management everything is falling apart. You can not come outside to watch your children play outside on the front because they do not have balconies. The security that they have harass you instead of patrolling the neighborhood.
