Asylum Hill is just one mile from Downtown Hartford, affording residents year-round access to city celebrations and festivals. The community is over 615 acres and slightly hilly, with the largest hill located to the west of the downtown area.
Aside from its natural river border, Asylum Hill is bound by Interstate 84 and railroad tracks. Before insurance agencies moved into the area in the 1920s, the community was mostly farmland. Aetna remains a staple and large employer in the community – the company is located on Farmington Avenue.
The community is pretty multicultural and attracts tourists with its historic landmarks, such as the Mark Twain House and Harriet Beecher Stowe Center. In addition to their affordable apartments, residents enjoy taking a stroll through Sigourney Square Park.

Property Ratings at Woodland Village Townhouses
this is the worst place to live, shooting, drugs, animal infestation, Roches rates, mice's, no, please stay away
Rats….Rats…rats if you want to live with rats move here. They will never come fix anything in your apartment. They raise the rent every year for a broken apartment that they don’t fix & did I forget mice the whole complex need to be shut down.
They have roaches bed bugs and rats it this complex don't move here I do not recoend it and the maintenance is no good
Bedbugs, roaches, and inadequate maintenance complaints are true. Don't do it guys run the other way.
THE FIRST MONTH I MOVE INTO THIS PLACE ......I HAD TO THROW OUT MY KIDS BED,I ALSO WAS AFRAID TO SLEEP IN MY BED TOO. EVERY MORNING WE WAKE UP THE CHILDREN AND I TAKE ALL THE SHEETS OFF AND LEAVE THE BED OPEN SO THAT WE CAN SEE THE BED BUGS BEFORE WE GO TO BED THE NEXT NIGHT. IT WAS TERRIBLE FOR ME BECAUSE I HAD TO LET MY KIDS SLEEP ON THE FLOOR UNTIL THE CITY WAS CALL IN TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. ALSO SINCE I LIVE THERE FECES WATER COME UP INTO MY KITCHEN SINK 2-3 TIMES ALREADY. I DONT ADVISE ANYONE TO MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENT ITS A NIGHTMARE
This place is just awful!!!! I wish I would have listened to those who told me not to movement here! A week after I moved in the place was over run by mice and no one did anything about for two months. If you need repairs (which will be often) forget about it! I am counting down the days until my lease is up! Do your self a favor and take your money elsewhere!
When you chose to live in an apartment, of course they won't show you bad. I move in this complex in February 2011. The day I moved in so did roaches. I've never seen a roach in my life until I move to this place. Other neighbors complained that mice where in their apartments. Someone threw a mattress and box spring outside in the court yard and it's been there for almost 2 weeks. Forget about complaining, because it's useless. The best thing you would be able to do is just not even move there. I stayed there for 2 years because I had to. For the amount of money you pay to live there, you'd be better off in a shelter.
