Property Ratings at Woodmont Station at Cranford
When this apartment building first opened it was well kept inside and outside the facility grounds. The maintenance team and supervisor were on top of everything in and out of building. The communication would be excellent with leasing office. As the years have gone by leading to this year in 2023, as expected there have been plenty of changes but not for the good of the community. The outside grounds like the parking lot and landscaping have dog poop, misc. scraps, paper and garbage around the building that use to be picked up by the building staff. However I will say this, the only positive changes that have occurred recently has been the exterior grounds with improving the landscaping such as the gardening. That’s eye catching from the outside but if you walk inside it’s a different scenario. The inside of the facility, carpets use to be vacuumed and steamed on a regular. Now, tenants need to complain for months in order to get cleaning done. Management hires and let cleaning services go once cleaned but do not keep anyone on board to keep areas clean. The only areas that cleaning is focused at is the club room and office area. I would highly recommend before you sign the lease to walk around the facility and ask about how often is cleaning done during the months in the contract year. Do not get caught into facade of the virtual tour. The gym is outdated and with the money they charge tenants there should be newer equipment and maintained much better. The in and out of the building should be and feel like a luxury place. This Cranford not some urban area particularly for the reason they charge here. Better off renting in the newer developed buildings in the area.
Extremely rude, ignorant, and unresponsive staff from the top down. Will not work with you in any capacity to resolve an issue large or small. We were forced to break our lease only 3 months in due to the level of filth and constant noise disturbances experienced on a night-in/night-out basis. All I can say is, watch your back. The company as a whole will do anything to save a buck; whether that be skimping on staff or backhanding you on their one-sided lease agreement. Stay away!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry that your experience wasn't quite what you had expected. The on-site and regional team worked with you over several months regarding your concerns and accommodated you to the best of our ability. It is very important to us that our residents enjoy their homes and are satisfied living here. In addition, we take the cleanliness of our community very seriously. During short staffing, we hired a full-time cleaning service to monitor the upkeep of the building. We are happy to now be fully staffed and have established a contractor to perform bi-weekly deep cleanings of our flooring throughout the building. Again, we apologize for your experience and thank you for your feedback, we truly appreciate it. We wish you the best in your future home and if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at woodmontstation@woodmontproperties.com or call us at (908) 603-8607.
The real crux of the issue here is maintenance (or lack thereof). To give you an idea, on our move in day, Woodmont had around 4 technicians at any given time that were attentive and addressed problems in a timely manner. This number has now been reduced to the building's tech manager, who to my knowledge was hard work under, lazy, and is unreliable to tenants. Just submitted a work order? Great! Expect to wait a week for a response if you're lucky. The upkeep of the often time broken amenities (that we pay $375/yr for) including the grills, gym equipment, and shuttle bus won't be addressed for months regardless if you say anything or not. As for the building itself the units are cheaply made with shoddy appliances. Walls and floors are thin to the point where you're either hearing a stampede from above or domestic disputes next door. While I've met some really nice people here, there's unfortunately more that lack class or courtesy. I've come home to hallways filled with broken glass, old furniture, dog crap, and garbage stacked OUTSIDE the shoots. Unfortunately there aren't that many nice apartment complexes in the central New Jersey area. We chose Woodmont because it had modern "looking" units compared to most and had moderately quick access to major highways and train lines. Just keep in mind that everything that glitters isn't gold. As hard as it is, keep looking and don't waste your time, money, or sanity with this hell hole.

We have lived at Woodmont for a few months now, and everyone we have met has been friendly - staff included. It is a very nice community with welcoming tenants, hard-working people, and in a fantastic area. I have seen other reviews out there regarding management; all I can say is that every interaction we have had has been productive and good-natured. The staff here are willing to work with you and solve any issues amicably - they have done their best to provide the best possible living experience at Woodmont, and for that we are thankful.

This is a letter that I wrote intending to send to the Woodmont Station corporate office but i was unable to locate that contact information. Dear Woodmont Station, I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessional and dishonest service I have received. During my close to three years residing in apartment 430( since 6/15/15), I have seen a revolving door of administration and other staff at Woodmont Station Cranford. Dave, in maintenance, was the only constant in the building. As a result, the management of this community in a professional and service-oriented manner has suffered. I am writing to protest a $25 fee attached to my final bill. The fee was added to the bill without any explanation. I called the office several times, left messages and visited the office several times and spoke to Asha who repeatedly advised that the manager had “stepped out for an indeterminable period” and that I could try again another time. Finally, after a couple weeks and attempts my husband was called and it was explained that the $25 fee was for patching small nail holes. When I heard this I was extremely displeased because I had scheduled a 10am meeting with maintenance on my last day. Russel and I went through the apartment with a checklist and he told me that everything looked great. Not only that but he remarked at how well the place had been cleaned! When I explicitly asked him about patching the nail holes he told me NOT to patch them. He said that when residents patch the holes they use too much putty which then makes a bigger sanding job for maintenance. When we explained this to the current manager, whose names I have lost track of after Brian, we were told that the employee Russel was no longer with Woodmont Station. In addition, we were told that since Russel had not documented this in writing we were not believed and therefore being charged. My advice to present and future tenants: make sure you get everything in writing! It might be interesting to know how many tenants are charged extra small fees and don’t complain. This more than likely creates a nice small revenue stream for Woodmont Station. Sincerely, Kirby Ruffner

Hello Mrs. Ruffner, Thank you for your feedback. I would love to discuss this with you. Please feel free to give me a call @ 908.603.8607. Our number one goal here at Woodmont Station to make sure all resident New, Past and Future are happy. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you again for your feedback :)
To start with the good: the apartments are nice, the location is great, the building is kept clean, and the maintenance staff could not be nicer. Now the rest: This apartment would be better managed by school children. The package reception hours are entirely unreasonable (during hours when most people are at work) and the management is unreliable. For example, residents received an e-mail stating that package hours would be extended one night and that someone would be there to assist. To my surprise, not only was there no one available, but the person who answered the phone for Woodmont Station's call in number (i) had no idea that the hours were extended; (ii) could not reach anyone at the building; and (iii) only offered to try to attempt to contact someone once every 10 minutes -- after I waited an hour after work, at 8 PM I commend the building management for trying to make a "community" environment by scheduling events and sending mass e-mails. However, we are not a gated community -- we are an apartment building of separate residents. There is no HOA, nor does management have the authority to implement "fines" for ex post facto rules (something they have tried to do). My ultimate recommendation for this building -- don't move in quite yet. The building is lovely, but management has far too many problems that they have not yet corrected, making living in this building a headache. If they can correct the numerous problems soon, it would be a wonderful place to live. P.S. Management does nothing about the apartments that are clearly harboring 6 people, in violation of the lease agreements, and does nothing to prevent hoards of children (ages 5 - 18) from loitering in the common areas, making them unavailable to everyone else.
Plain and simple the building has too many residents for the amenities available. The pool could barely fit a Fiat 500. Do you plan on letting your dog run around and get exercise in a state of the art "bark park"? Then this is not the place for you! The puny dog park might be a workout for your pet if your dog is the size of an ordinary everyday hamster or field mouse. All packages must go through the front office that has regular business hours. So unless you are working the graveyard shifts, you can expect to pickup your packages on the weekends (except for Sunday when the office is closed). The mail room, all the way at the other end of the building, is unlocked. Picture this: you have been waiting for 2 days for your shiny new thingamajig you ordered with Amazon Prime. You track the order online and it says it was delivered to the front door. You jump for joy and run down to the office to claim your prize. What? You don't have it? But Fedex tracking said it was delivered? If this situation occurs, then you need to check the unlocked mail room on the opposite side of the building. Your package will more than likely be sitting on a ledge above your mail box, unsecured, and available for all to look at in awe (or steal--i'm optimistic). The apartments are nice and new but nothing special from other "luxury" apartments. You get the usual stuff other apartments feature such as bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms. All the apartments I toured had all of these items and all functioned as they should have.
If you're looking for an upscale, new apartment building with easy access to the NYC train, Woodmont Station is great. they have a free shuttle service that takes you to and from Cranford station, or you're only an 8 min walk away. The shuttle is from 6-8 am in the morning and unfortunately only 5-7 pm at night, making it useless for late city workers. The rooms are a modern style and a good size for what you pay. The amenities include free parking, cable/internet, 2 fitness centers, and a pool spa. One draw back- tons of young kids equals lots of bodily fluids, making the pool regularly closed for maintenance and cleaning. A major benefit of living here is the maintenance staff. They are extremely responsive and customer friendly.
It's been a pleasure to live in this complex. The Management has been very helpful and nice. All issues that arise with the apart are addressed immediately. Everyone makes you feel welcomed .
This is the most luxurious, comfortable and resonably priced apartment I have ever rented. The management is STELLAR, so friendly and willing to help with anything. The apartment is large and roomy, large baths, and beautiful large windows with lovely scenery of the plush landscape and heated sauna! The outdoor area has grills, fire pit, and plenty of seating! Also, it is a short walk to Cranford Train Station, and a very short ride to NYC. The town of Cranford is a great place for family fun, plenty of restaurants and things to do. Also, I forgot to mention that the meeting room at Woodmont Station is state of the art with computor access, bar, pool table, workable kitchen, fireplace, workout room, bathrooms and so much more.... I Love living here, and I truly call it my HOME!
A brand new construction that didn't "skimp" on appearance. The lobby and units are equipped with modern appliances, and the rest of the building has a chic appeal. The builders attempted to make not only a nice place to live, but a community where residents can "hang out" and get to know each other. Oh, and its pet-friendly, so you will see a lot of 4-legged neighbors around as well. To me, it doesn't have a kid-friendly feel to it, but there are families in the building as well.
Hello! I am so overjoyed to be living at the Woodmont Station Apartments in Cranford, New Jersey! My family and I have loved enjoying our living community and the people who share this building with us. I also wanted to take this opportunity to explain to you the type of background my family went through and how it's helped us get to the point in our lives we are now at. My husband and I are both first generation Americans, with our parents coming from Italy and Portugal, respectively. Our parents worked tirelessly to ensure that he and I had the opportunity to advance and build lives for ourselves that they were not able to. We were both able to attend college, graduate, and obtain good jobs that allowed us to eventually afford to maintain a home that our 2 children could grow up in. My husband and I grew up in two separate, but rough areas of New Jersey where our potential to succeed was overlooked by an overwhelming amount of violence and misfortune. Being at school each day was a struggle to not only dismiss the difficulties we experienced with our parents who struggled to make ends meat, but to also protect ourselves from other students who were not only violent, but also involved in illegal drug activity that plagued our schools. My husband and I maintained wholesome lives and were able to leave the dangerous surroundings we were in to pursue better lives. We married at 23 years of age and immediately began saving our money to buy a home, start opening college funds for our 2 children, and bank away money that we could use to help us through our retirement later in life. When my oldest son turned 13, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. While he was undergoing treatment, my father was also gravely ill and required an extensive amount of care. Balancing two young children, an ill husband, and a even sicker father took a toll on my life and placed a great amount of stress on my family. We were blessed to see that both my husband and father saw through their health issues and remained parts of our lives. Approximately 6 years ago, I developed a rare autoimmune disease and I was forced to leave my career as a Special Education Para. We needed to change our way of living. Woodmont Station provides the maintenance free environment we need. The staff is so helpful with anything we may need. Our days are stress free here with a beautiful environment for all of us. Including, a pool, lounge area, green space and fitness right in the building.
"I felt in love with this building since was in construction. When I have the opportunity to complete my application the staff was incredibly helpful. I have 2 months living in this building, is clean, quiet, common areas well maintained and the staff are very helpful in all areas. The Cranford area is beautiful, the stores, houses, parks, the farm and restaurants are excellent. For me and my wife this is the first stop for our retirement. We are very happy." Jorge L.,Cranford, NJ
I must say this apartment and complex has been a joy to move into. The staff is excellent and addresses whatever concerns you have immediately. It is a brand new complex so everything is in perfect condition. It is pet friendly and very well kept. It has a gym and a virtual gym for your cardio and aerobic needs. The lobby has a pool table and free refreshments. The front office signs for your packages and then lets you know you received them and to pick them up via email. They have a pool area and plenty of parking for the tenants and the guests. Also has great security in the building. No one can just walk in. They have to get buzzed in thru the person they are trying to see. Located in Cranford NJ you not only have a great town that you live in but you have access to the train and parkway and a ton of restaurants, stores, gyms, etc. And I think the one thing that I love the best is that this is the first apartment I have ever lived in that had thick walls where I don't hear my neighbors. I can hear nothing from the people that live next to me and below me. And my neighbor next door has a new born baby and I haven't heard the baby once. It's nice when the owner builds a quality building. I cannot express how happy I am with this complex and community. I hope this review helps someone else.
I have been a tenant in the woodmont station for 4 months. I am very pleased with the set up of the apartment and the amenities as well. I'm a fitness enthusiast and competitor so the fitness center is a perfect fit for me when I need to get in my cardio or a quick workout. I love the outside landscaping and the fire pit and BBQ set up. It makes it a nice setting to host a get together. I was hesitant about renting but this experience so far has opened up my mind. Thank you!!
The apartments are spacious and have great floors, cabinetry, new appliances, and wonderful touches such as pretty backsplashes in the kitchen and in the shower. The double sink vanity in the bathroom is a plus. There is a washer and dryer in unit, the closets are fairly spacious, and there's central AC. Internet and basic cable are provided free of charge which is a huge plus! There's a gym and club house as well. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The location is perfect: the town itself is nice and seems fairly safe, there's a ShopRite just 5-10 minutes away by car, the train station is just a 5-10 minute walk from the building, getting into NYC is only 50 minutes by train, Garden State Parkway is less than 5 minutes away by car. Some other things that are less ideal: parking is free, but not covered which will be a hassle in the winter. Also, my windows face the train tracks and there is occasionally some noise from trains passing by. Still, it isn't too terrible, and might be more preferable than the other side facing the road which gets a lot of noise from passing cars.
Woodmont Station in Cranford is a brand new luxury building complete with all the ammenities you could ask for. The lobby looks like it belongs in NYC at the Hotel W and is complete with pool table, flat screen TV's, bar, etc. Included in the very reasonable rent is an unbelieveable workout facility, free wifi and basic TV, spa pool, with comfortable lounges, BBQ, and free shuttle to and from the nearby train station, which is only an 8 minute walk anyway. I love my balcony and the apartment is very spacious and has beautiful appliances and a walk in bedroom closet, and all rooms have lots of large windows and beautiful hardwood floors in the kitchen/living room areas. It is perfectly situated as it is literally 5-15 minutes from any store you can possilby want to shop at and is nearby, even walking distance to dozens of bars and restaurants and parks. The management office bends over backwards for you and acts as a concierge services so that you do not need to be home to receive packages. This is easily a 5 star apartment and no other luxury apartment in the area or nearby towns can come close as I had visited all of the others. Highly recommend!

My new home has everything I want!! Hard wood floors, walk in closet, stainless steel appliances , adequate parking, safe location, wonderful amenities... Pool, gym room, storage , club house ! 2 full size bathrooms one in my bedroom the most important is the living room separates the bedrooms so there is privacy !
My wife and I rent a two bedroom here and it has been great so far. Pros: free parking, 3 min bike ride to train station, all building is wifi covered, great gym, TV and Internet pre-installed, nicely renevated apartments Cons: only one trash room, mail room, package room in the very wide building, so you need to travel far
Woodmont Station has been great so far. The entire building is less than a year old, and the rooms are beautiful. I'm big on cooking, and the kitchen is very nice; not huge, but big enough with PLENTY of storage. I would have hoped for a gas range, but I guess these glass-tops are good enough for everything except wok-cooking - plus their efficiency is great! On terms of efficiency, the rest of the apartment seems like it was built to be as efficient as possible. At one point, I was even trying to find inefficiencies, and found that all of the lights in the unit are either LED or CFL (and still give great quality light), so I guess I'll have to keep looking for those inefficiencies! Maybe the winter will show some. In terms of the area, Cranford is great. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the center of town and the train station. It takes me around 45 minutes to get into New York by train! There is plenty of parking at the building itself (up to 2 cars allowed at no cost per room), and I think they have a shuttle that runs between the apartment and the station. I only have 2 real complaints - one being the noise. My neighbor downstairs plays electric bass, and even when he turns it down (usually because I knock on his door complaining about it vibrating my bed at 10:30pm), I can still hear it/feel it. Then my upstairs neighbors walk quite heavily... Usually not a big problem, but it can be quite loud a times and is worth noting. Finally, I strategically requested a room on the side of the building opposite the train tracks. This kind of backfired, because the road noise is just as bad, but more constant. My 2nd complaint is the gym. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad it's there, and I use it all the time. It just doesn't much to actually get a good workout. The plus is that whatever machines they do have, they're BRAND new and good quality. I just wish there were a squat rack or bench press or something... So, overall, I would definitely recommend Woodmont Station, just be wary of a little noise. Come be a neighbor!
