Downtown Fargo is the city’s eclectic heart, blending a small-town sense of character with a surprising variety of cultural amenities and unique attractions that exceed all expectations for a city of this size. Broadway and Main Avenue are the primary thoroughfares in the neighborhood, providing a bevy of independently owned restaurants, bars, boutiques, and cafes in rows of historic buildings.
The landmark Fargo Theatre is also situated on Broadway, serving as an arthouse cinema and live performance venue throughout the year. Rentals in Downtown Fargo range from luxury apartments in new communities to renovated lofts in vintage buildings.
Downtown Fargo apartments are typically within walking distance of the neighborhood’s main drags, but outdoor lovers may want to seek out rentals in the eastern portion of the neighborhood, closer to the Red River.

Property Ratings at Woodrow Apartments
I lived in Woodrow for several years. Enclave management is terrible. They were unresponsive to renters' property being stolen (several times), made erroneous charges to our account, and retained our security deposit without cause. They seem only to care about protecting their pocketbooks - not their renters. Stay away.
They kept most of our security deposit. We received a check for $239.50 after our 3 month lease. They charged a carpet cleaning flat fee of $100 for a measly piece of traffic area of a studio apartment. Carpeted area was probably 10x10 with a queen bed, huge dresser and 2 nightstands. We cleaned before we left. Scrubbed down the bathroom, tiles and sink. Sanitized floors, counter tops, drawers, furniture and appliances. We had no kids or pets. Don't smoke, drink nor did we have guests. Management sent us exit photos with no bad feedback. So I am not sure why they charged us $160.50 for cleaning. We left mid-month after our 13-week contract with the hospital but told us to pay for the entire month, meaning they pocketed another $750+. After several back and forth with them, to no avail. She even asked me to meet with her thinking we would meet halfway. Just wasted my time. Beware of this corrupt management.
I live on the historic side of the building and it is well worth the extra $$$. The windows and high ceilings are to die for! The apartment has a lot of dog so there is some problems with owners not cleaning up after them and parking is an issue. Many times if you come home after 6 or 7pm you will be stuck parking on the street. The pros outweigh the cons for sure. My boyfriend our dog and I have lived here for 3 years and love it. I would recommend getting an apartment on the historic side because of the windows and high ceilings. The new side seem like a basic apartment where historic side has charm and a very different feel.
Heat and central air are NOT included in the rent in new building and they continue more than a year later after I brought this to their attention to make these claims. A member of their own construction/design team told me the owners and managers were advised to not tell people that as it is technically not true. The heat pumps in the garage provide heat and air and those are run on electricity which the tenant pays for.
Property Manager at Woodrow Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. Woodrow’s rental structure is a ‘one bill’ approach as of May 2018 and tenants are not billed separately for electricity. This replaced our previous incentive of 1 month free on a 13-month lease.
A 100-year old school building was transformed into beautiful character apartments. A new building was constructed in the school's former parking lot. I love how the historic building and the new building connect with a shared lobby and outdoor courtyard. This is a pet friendly community, which is nice to see all the dog owners interacting. I love the community feel and location near downtown Fargo. I'd recommend Woodrow to someone looking for character in their apartment in a convenient location.
I moved into Woodrow 6 months ago and I couldn't be happier with my decision. There are nice amenity spaces (gym, grills, patio) and all common spaces are kept really clean. The Property Managers are quick to respond to any questions which I found helpful. The units have very nice finishes, high ceilings, and I can't hear my neighbors. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking to live downtown.
High prices compared to comps around downtown Fargo. Parking is expensive and the lots are over filled. This apartment complex is average, not luxury. There is nothing special about living here.
Best luxury apartments in Fargo! Beautifully decorated, professional staff, wonderful central air/heat. Great hi speed internet and cable package included in rent with no need for additional upgrades. Corner units have beautiful wall of windows overlooking downtown. Amenities and class that you find in larger metro areas. Finally the sophisticated and stylish metro living Fargo has needed! I am a tenant and can't be happier.
