If you’re looking for a peaceful neighborhood outside the bustle of San Antonio, you’ll appreciate the laid-back atmosphere of this locale on the edge of one the city’s busiest loops. Hillcrest is ripe with reasonable apartment complexes that will fit any budget.
This compact community neighbors Balcones Heights in southwest San Antonio. Hillcrest is largely residential, but it’s set between some fantastic entertainment options along the 410. There’s the Wonderland of the Americas shopping center set at its northeast corner, and the restaurants and big-box stores just across the freeway.
Local restaurants line Babcock Rd., the area’s main thoroughfare. Hillcrest is ideal for the commuting crowd, as the 410 and 10 will carry you to Downtown San Antonio in under 20 minutes.

Property Ratings at Woods of Brookhollow
These people charge former residents for leaving the apartments dirty but this charge is just for them to enjoy, not to be paid for cleaning. They also have this unreasonably restricted policy of a 3-WEEK gap between move-in and move-out. They make you live outside of Maverick even if you are just switching apartments inside the complex. They SAY it’s because of the cleaning and repairing. But then you walk into a wreck. They won’t let you see the apartment until you pay the deposit and first rent so you are stuck with whatever they give you. I don’t like moving and I had plans to renew my contract as long as I am here but I can not stand being practically insulted anymore. This is what I walked into as a new resident: the oven and fridge were left in the middle of kitchen. Their original spots were showing and infested. There was trash alllll over the other floors and even on the chairs. Long story short, be prepared to move into a slum if you are renting an apt here.
I love the strategic location of this apartment complex. Easy access to stores, restaurants and highway loops and I feel safe living across a police dept, near hospital - the basic needs of life in general. My fave part is the customer service of Diana (leasing consultant) - lovely to talk to, very professional and diligent, which I believe plays a huge part of us staying for another year or more ??
I move in 12-01-2016 one bed room, what i like is assign parking space in carport, maintance personal usually fix things depending what time, sometimes next day and friendly staffs.the only problem had was some guy breaking into mail boxes,so call the police and what i was told they caught the guy.I am glad because this place is quite, nobody bothers you.
The office manager is incompetent, and does not understand rentals laws and regulations. They refuse to give notification of when maintenance will arrive, and will not even say what DAY the person will show up. Have multiple open maint. requests that have gone unresolved. Main office is often closed up during standard business hours. Have gone a total of 23 days with out water in the past year, 7 of which were consecutive. This complex hires unqualified repair people to fix their issues, who only solve the problems temporarily. The laundry system is over priced, and all to often the machines do not work, or double or even triple charge you. When a repair request was made for one machine in the laundry room, they literally took parts from the machine next to it, fixing the one, and leaving the other broken. This solved zero problems. All in all, the people running this complex are lazy, incompetent, and completely negligent. I'll just live in my car in their parking lot, like all of the crackheads that already do the same. Also, this complex refuses to send my rental history to my new complex because i havent turned in my notice of leaving their complex. So if i wanted to even APPLY for a new apartment, i have to be read to move out of this one first. If i give my notice that im leaving, and do not get the new apartment, i will effectively be homeless. This complex is garbage. It raises its rent for no reason, and refuses to perform upkeep to the property. Oh excuse me, they do hire about 10 people to walk the grounds with leafblowers... so essentially they only focus on the cosmetic, and refuse to repair the necessary. Such a garbage complex.
These apartments have been decent. The past 3 years I have renewed my lease. Couldn't complain much about the main office or maintenance. Theyve been pretty on it when it comes to my needs/requests. Maintenance has come out in the same day or even less than 2 hous depending on how busy they are. The only thing I'd have to complain about is that I put my name on the list to upgrade my apartment to a bigger one, and the one I want is very hard to come by since no one ever leaves, but I guess that says something about the complex, in a good way.
