Canton’s most recognizable landmark is the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a shrine to the legends of the game and one of the state’s biggest tourism destinations. The annual Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival is the city’s flagship community event, featuring a parade, cook-offs, a hot air balloon festival, and the inter-league exhibition game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The Canton Arts District has grown into one of the city’s signature attractions, a popular section of Downtown full of studios, galleries, and performance venues. The growth of the Arts District has also spurred renewed interest in Downtown, which has seen a new crop of restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, and breweries appear in recent years.

Property Ratings at Woodside Terrace Apartments
First off maintenance is horrible, unprofessional, and do not follow safety protocol. Yes they have ppl inspect it, but then they do nothing about it. The staff is horrible and unprofessional. The townhome quality is LITERALLY SO BAD. Everything in the home was so bad, and broke within the first month. We literally went without a working toilet for a month and we called them 5x and the maintenance guy came by never returned. ?? They are over priced and the trash is also horrible. Trust me, just rent a house for the same price but a lot nicer. And if you have financial issues, don’t expect them to care either
I lived here for 2 years. Pros - It was quiet, pet friendly and had a decent patio. Always felt pretty safe here. Loved the trail nearby. Lots of deer and wildlife, great place to walk a dog. Cons - outdated. drains backed up. Mold grew everywhere. I had to bleach my bathroom ceiling and walls at least once a month. I threw away so much when I moved out of there because of the mold. Squirrels are everywhere, in the walls, fighting on the roof (sounds like cats fighting), even rang the neighbors doorbell from inside the wall!! The dog liked the squirrels though... The patio fences were falling down all the time, and the patio had spiders so bad it wasn't usable. I would clear out webs one day and back the next. Also they need to empty the dumpsters more often. It was always overflowing. disgusting. Air conditioners are really old noisy in wall units. You could either watch TV or be cool, but not both. Heat is floor board heating. My electric bill was insanely high, especially in the winter, and we were still cold. Also, people don't clean up poop. I stepped in it so often, and I always cleaned up after my dog. And they allow big dogs, I love big dogs, just not big poop on my shoe. I moved to a new rental 8 months ago and love it. I am not hard to please. Bleaching a ceiling is not fun!! I miss the walking path, and a couple of the neighbors - that is all I miss. It met my needs when I moved in. I couldn't wait to get out though.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Maintenance are not knowledgeable. Water is hard and horrible pressure. The windows leak and floor stays wet, dishwasher doesn't work, the preventative maintenance is horrible... Do Not even bother complete waist of money
I DO NOT recommend renting from Woodside Terrace Apartments for the following reasons: - Local office management is very unprofessional and is slow to resolve issues. Little competence is demonstrated in processing standard leases. - The maintenance staff attempt to be helpful, but lack skill and competence in rudimentary maintenance tasks. That is, in most cases management will have to utilize contractors to complete maintenance, which further delays the restoration process. - Staff routinely fail to open the pool as scheduled (during posted hours). - The campus grounds are continually in disrepair. Local office management has little to no inclination to implement repairs.
Problems began the day I moved in 2016. The fire alarm went off every time I showered. I tried every solution. After a week I notified the office & manager said "Yeah, thats a common problem, it happens to me too. Fan the fire alarm off till it stops each time." Instead of attempting to fix the problem the management office said "oh well just live with it." 6 months into living there my door handle FELL OFF while I was leaving for work. I put my keys in to lock the door & the entire apparatus fell off completely. I could fit my arm through the hole in my door. Anyone could have walked into my apartment. I called the office immediately & no one answered (this was during business hours before 5 pm). I walked down to speak with the manager. She told me it really was not a big deal & they could get to it tomorrow. I pressed again. She finally said she did not want to call anyone in maintenance to fix the problem because if the workers are there past 4:30 pm the company would have to pay them over time. It was not until I demanded the door be fixed or I would call the emergency number that she finally agreed to fix my door immediately. The gutter above the entrance way to the building my apartment was in broke. Whenever it rained the gutter would overflow, causing a waterfall effect over the door way. I'm talking solid sheets of water falling. The water would pool in the door way & leak in to the building, soaking the carpet, causing mildew to grow in the vestibule, & a horrible stench to fill the entire building. I approached the leasing office twice each month from July to December & each time I was ignored. The company told me I was being dramatic, there was no problem, & they had specific carpet that prevented mildew growth. The carpet was so old & damaged there is no way it prevented anything from growing. Over all, the management office is incapable of handling problems, causing situations to intensify until it is unmanageable. I do not know if this is because of the company in general or if the workers themselves are incompetent. When I tried to extend my lease the leasing office constantly contradicted themselves, lied to me, & continuously raised the rent each month until I left. Other problems: hard water leaves residue on dishes, excessive moisture build up even w/ dehumidifier, building smelled like smoke & cat pee, building was never clean, cobwebs everywhere in entrance I wish I could upload the pictures I have.
Property Manager at Woodside Terrace Apartments, Responded To This Review
“Woodside Terrace Apartments does not wish to disparage residents or former residents, but as the saying goes, there are two sides to every story. Our property is inspected by both the local municipality officials and by our lender on regular intervals. If we had violations, we would not pass inspections until they were corrected. We also follow all laws and Fair Housing codes on rent and certainly never raise rents monthly. That is the purpose of a lease document – to clearly define the rent and any other charges. Woodside Terrace is very proud of our numerous awards. The judging for these awards is based on the condition of the property, maintenance standards, professional employees and procedures, our on-going commitment to our residents, and our following of Fair Housing rules and regulations. We have many long term residents, and also get former residents who come back to live in our community again. While we respect the right of this former resident to voice her opinion, if you are looking for an apartment, please do your own investigation by visiting our property. Thank you.”
My wife and I had lived here for 2 1/2 years. It was our first apt as a married couple and was decent....at best. We rented a 1 BR 1 Bath apt, and since we moved in the hotel had a MASSIVE condensation problem. (I wish this site had a photo upload feature to show you the AWFUL pictures). Because the building we lived in was WALL TO WALL cinder block, unless we ran a dehumidifier 24/7 water would collect on the ceilings and walls and then turn into mold. We became VERY concerned by this and called the office.... The woman we spoke to said to my wife that "We need to open windows and run more fans to keep the humidity down". Well that's a great help. There is that, then, the air conditioner in our bedroom (in wall air conditioner) ALWAYS froze over. The Temp dial didn't really work and was always on max cold and if we left it running while we were gone (we lived on the top floor, so it was hot), when we returned it would always be frozen solid with white ice. Maitience came out to fix it and the guy just took it apart and sat there and said "yup this is an old unit" and then put more coolant in it and called it a day. Then the worst. I got a promotion at work which required me to move to a new location. We were half way through our lease and had to break it. (My company didn't pay for moving expenses--that's a different story) but when we spoke with Mary (the manager) and went over the terms of breaking our lease she told us we needed to pay the remainder of the lease (up front of course) and that she would actively try and rent it out before our lease was up. If she were to be successful in renting it out we would get the difference back that we paid. While we were skeptical, we had no choice. Nearly 6 months later, our apartment still remains vacant. I called and spoke with Mary, confused as to why after all this time we still hadn't heard anything. All I got was a sob story on how "Nobody is renting". To my wife and I it looks pretty obvious they were in no rush to rent out or place, they already got their money. For such a dumpy place and such a lack of motivation to help their tenants, this is why I would suggest going somewhere--ANYWHERE else but Woodside Terrace.
These homes are definitely not worth the money that I paid for them. The old floors creak with every step even on the first floor. The kitchen is tiny. The dishwasher doesn’t work properly and leaks. They warned me about what to put down the sink, but what they really meant is don’t use the sink disposal at all, it will undoubtedly clog up. The “back yard” is again tiny and I have to weed-eat and maintain it. The fence around the “yard” is dilapidated and the gate is crooked and doesn’t close after the first month I was there. The parking garage is located in the back and in order to get to it, I have leave through the sliding glass door in the living room. However, the sliding glass door has a terrible, cheap lock on it that can be easily picked. Fortunately, this sliding glass door does have a bracing bar on the inside, but it can only be put in place from the inside. In order to leave my house secured, I have to lock the sliding door from the inside, walk to the front of the house leaving through the front door, walk around the entire townhouse unit to the garage in the back. Finally and most importantly, do NOT violate their “grace period” on their rent. Their grace period is 5 days. I paid on time every month up to the 7th month when I was travelling and just forgot. I paid my rent on January 6th (just after traveling for Christmas break). When I remembered, I immediately called them and asked to have the $75 fee waived since it was my first offense. No such luck. No forgiveness from Woodside Terrace brokers. Thank you and please enjoy your rental experience elsewhere.
