Property Ratings at Wyndchase Aspen Grove
The latest property manager doesn’t care about the quality of living. She doesn’t return calls or answer emails. The pools are swamps. The gym equipment doesn’t work. The sprinklers haven’t come on once this year, even before the drought and the grass is dead. Roaches. The public brings aggressive dogs to the dog park. The gate still doesn’t work. Mass emails are sent blaming residents for her lack of oversight. Example, they don’t service the 30 year old AC units but an email advised there’s a “20 degree rule” so if it’s 101 outside, the AC needs to be set to 81-crazy excuse to line your own pockets. Yet, rent rises.

As the property values have risen in this over 30 year property thinks they are as good as the brand news. I was given a lease renewal of $400 after being a good tenant for many years with ontime payment history. All they care about his the bottom line and $$$ they will toss you out on the street with no place to go. The maintenance is as nasty as the property manager. It is a regular occurence for the dumpster to be overfilled sitting there weeks at a time. Not worth the price at all!
DO NOT RENT HERE... I am a current resident and if I were you, I would look at the fine print of your lease and make sure you are really getting what you pay for. All of these reviews people leave are true, but there is so much more. I do not want to be singled out, so I will wait until we move until I post everything on this filthy, disgusting place. Run away is the only advice I can give you! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
For the most part I like living here. The property grounds are pretty and their is a lot of green space. I love the balconies. It’s an older complex but they keep the unit maintained pretty well. It could be a bit better. There are two pools and the maintenance of the pools are lacking. Which is a real shame giving they are considered a focal point. They need to buy a new skimmer. Maybe I’m just picky. It’s nice that the pools are by trees but the downside to that is that leaves, bugs, etc float on top of the pool. Yesterday I found multiple wasps and a slug in the pool. I just wish it was maintained better and more inviting to swim in.
I’ve never written a review before and am a very low maintenance person, but unfortunately I feel the need to share about my experience. Let me start out by saying the neighborhood is beautiful, location is great, and I have always felt safe. However, we moved in the last weekend of May, and since June have had constant issues with roaches. I have talked to many staff members about it, requested sprays that never got done, in addition to having gotten sprayed about 3-4 times (including today). But despite the sprays, them checking other units, and checking for extra moisture, the roaches have continued. We have found them in every room of the apartment, and from June-now, have probably killed at least 30 roaches. It’s to the point where we are constantly checking rooms / our beds for them. I have shared all of this with their staff, and have countless correspondence about it over the last 6 months, but they failed to take responsibility, take it seriously, and admit it was their issue. I recently requested to break my lease and pointed out the health risks with having that many roaches in an apartment, in addition to it causing anxiety and preventing us from feeling comfortable at home. CiAnna, property manager, claimed that she thought me wanting to move somewhere else was the underlying reason for pushing to break the lease, even having shown her pictures of roaches in our bathroom and outlined 6 months of correspondence. There are other reviews on this site that also claim roach problems over the last few months. I find it completely wrong that they are not owning the issue that many residents are having, claiming I have hidden intentions, and not respecting a residents wish to leave an apartment that has had roach issues for 6 months. Instead they have requested 60 days notice and a penalty of $2,800. The only thing that would make this right and prove some integrity, is if they admitted to having had a roach issue among their units and offer to work with me on breaking the lease if my wish is to move out. Otherwise there is no way I would recommend this apartment complex to others. The way they’ve handled this is just wrong, and very costly. Wish I could add an image of the size of the roaches we’ve been dealing with, but there’s no image option.
The show unit and the unit I got were so different, I feel like they pulled a "bait and switch." Our property manager Chasidy did two walk-throughs, but failed to see the clumps of human hair everywhere. I've never lived somewhere so dirty. There is a reasonable expectation that when you move into a apartment, that it'll be as clean as they expect you to leave it. I feel like if I left the apartment in the same condition it's in now, they wouldn't give back my deposit. However, if it was just dirty and other people's hair (ew) I could just clean it, and be okay. But the smell. When you walk in, it hits you in the face, making you queasy almost instantly, but that was nothing compared to the mold smell in the bathroom. You can SEE the black mold on the air vents. There is no way someone walked through this apartment and thought it was suitable for renters. Depending on how Wyndchase handles the situation, I'll update my review.
DO NOT rent here! I wish I could rate them 0. They had their maintenance crew working on the apartment above us (very disruptive and loud and Wyndchase could not confirm whether or not they were licensed to do the work). The workers made a mistake, breaking a pipe. This caused water to come POURING from the ceiling into our apartment. Our nanny was left to deal with an excessive amount of water coming into our apartment all while trying to tend to our children. On a side note our kids are potty training and the water came pouring out of the ceiling in their bathroom leaving them TERRIFIED to use the potty anymore. My husband was forced to leave his job to go home and tend to the water. He was barely able to contain it from starting to ruin our personal belongings it was so excessive. All while damaging our towels in the meantime. We have no clue the quality of the water covering our apartment. It was very difficult to get maintenance there. I spent over ten minutes getting bounced around on the phone before getting to someone who could treat it as an emergency situation. They sent someone who cut up our carpet, sprayed some chemical supposedly to kill mold and put a fan in place then left and said they would return the next day to put a new carpet pad down. This fan ran all night and into the next day. Who is going to cover the additional electricity required for this? Apparently we are even though this was Wyndchase's maintenance person's fault and responsibility therefore it should also fall on Wyndchase. Today they came to replace the carpet pad and they cleaned the carpet with who knows what kind of chemicals. We have been left with wet carpet, linoleum in the bathroom that is bubbling and a hole in our ceiling with no indication that any further action will be taken to rectify the situation. Now our kids are scared to use their own bathroom, making potty training next to impossible, we are concerned that we will have a mold issue given the wet carpet and bubbling linoleum and not to mention a hold in the ceiling and no more ventilation in that bathroom. I feel like my family's health is at risk. They also continue to work on the apartment above us into the late evening hours blasting music and smoking outside the apartment. We are APPALLED at the way we have been treated in a situation that is in NO WAY our fault. I would NEVER recommend anyone to live here. I can't wait until our home is done being built so we can move out! STAY AWAY!
You know no place is perfect and there always things you might change, but overall my experience has been favorable. The management team has been accessible, friendly and helpful. The maintenance crew is quick to respond (even weekends and holidays)when issues arise which may include plumbing, heating and A/C, pest control and repair and upkeep. The apartment grounds are maintained weekly by professional lawn service and kept free of debris and trash. The buildings are power washed and painted when needed and woodwork replaced when signs of rotting occur. The over all impression one would get as they cruised the complex is that it is well maintained and taken care of. The downsides I might point out is a somewhat sloppy interior paint job and the carpets could have been more professionally installed. location/location/location. We are close to everything and need.
